Cozy Lakefront Condo with Kayaks at Bernard's Landing on Smith Mountain Lake

We had a truly wonderful stay at the condo on Smith Mountain Lake. From the moment we arrived, everything was exactly as described—clean, comfortable, and welcoming. The condo itself was well-stocked with everything we needed for a relaxing visit, from kitchen essentials to cozy touches that made it feel like a home away from home. The views of the lake were absolutely stunning, and waking up each morning to the peaceful water and fresh air was such a treat. The location was perfect for both relaxation and activities. We enjoyed having access to the kayaks and being able to spend time out on the water, as well as exploring nearby trails and local spots around the lake. In the evenings, it was so nice to sit out on the balcony, unwind, and take in the sunset. Our host was wonderful—very communicative, helpful, and kind. They made sure we had all the information we needed ahead of time and checked in to make sure our stay was going smoothly. That level of thoughtfulness really made our trip even better. Overall, this was one of the most enjoyable and refreshing getaways we’ve had in a while. The combination of a beautiful condo, a peaceful lake setting, and a thoughtful host made it a five-star experience. We would absolutely love to return and highly recommend this stay to anyone looking for a relaxing, memorable escape at Smith Mountain Lake

Nice place. Big pool and cozy private beach. Only drawback is the pool area swarming with loud kids from 10am to well past 5pm. There's some sort of day camp during the summer so be aware. You'll be relaxing in the middle of splashy relay races and the such for most of your time at the pool. Otherwise the place is nice. The unit itself had a patio right on a small inlet. The bed is comfy and the living area is well layed out. TV works great and the kitchen is well appointed. The property also features a sauna, steam room, indoor pool, hot tub, tennis and pickle ball courts and some kyaks to fill in the time the pool is being commandeer. Dining options are everywhere. Parking is fine. In summary I would stay here again. Just not while school is out.

This condo was awesome.. I have never stayed at a more stocked place. Everything we could have thought of…. View was excellent and had our boat slipped close by… will definitely stay here again and recommend it to all…

This was such a sweet property! There were so many nice little touches. An amazing coffee bar, a chocolate bar to enjoy, it truly felt like a home away from home for our little lake stay. Bernard’s Landing had some awesome amenities- an indoor pool for our rainy day. Loved this property, would visit again!

Perfect place to stay on Smith Mountail Lake. Walking distance to any lake activity you would want plus one of the best restaurants around. Very clean with terrific communication with owner. Only note is even though occupancy says for 4, it is really 2 adults, 2 children. We Intended for 4 adults to stay and had to make other accommodations for 2nd couple. Will definitely rebook if we have another house overflow issue.

Our stay was wonderful! Decorated Beautifully and spotless. Check-in was a breeze and everything you would ever need was there. Loved the patio looking out over the lake. Great restaurant within a. Few minute walk. Very peaceful and relaxing. Would highly recommend for a getaway at Smith Mountain Lake.

The hosts considered every detail, from the decor to the amenities. I loved the aesthetic details: shampoo, shower gel, lotion, as well as the practical things: coffee station, well equipped kitchen, ample towels, sheets, etc. There were even a few kitchen and bathroom items, in case you forgot something. This condo and its location were perfectly charming.

Easy booking, parking, check-in, and check-out. Host was very responsive. Super cute little condo steps from the water with nice lake view. Ground floor, but several steps down to the entranceWalkable to a little sandy beach that my 20-month-old loved. Walk or very short drive to indoor pool, indoor hot tub, sauna, steam room, gym, outdoor pool, 1' deep kiddie pool, tennis and pickleball. My husband brought his tennis racket and a basket of balls and enjoyed hitting nearby during toddler naps. Kayaks and life vests on the back porch, but we didn't use them this timeNapoli's, the restaurant next door, was fancy and yummy (but sadly only open limited days/hours, and reservations recommended). Cilantro's, the Mexican restaurant, was a bit of a drive, but the fresh fruit margarita and special birria tacos they had that day were worth it. Homestead Creamery was a nice visit on a rainy day too: ice cream, milkshakes, sandwiches, and giftsIt was cool and rainy almost the whole week, but we still enjoyed the view, amenities, and restaurants. And the toddler loved the little lake beach no matter the weather!

Easy check in, great community with facilities and very well-supplied home full of extra touches. We'd absolutely stay here again.

Perfect and close to Napoli

This condo was decorated so nice and was very clean upon our arrival. The host was excellent and response was timely. It was the little touches for me she had samples of makeup remover wipes and things that you might forget. The view was stunning.

Couldn’t get our breaker fixed til morning of leaving

Great location. Overlooks the marina off the back patio and the beach at the front of building. Check in was very convenient and the host was extremely accommodating. Would definitely stay again if have the opportunity.

My wife and I stayed at the Petite Lake Retreat for a friends wedding and after a long car ride down we were happy to be welcomed with a quiet, clean, and relaxing atmosphere. Elton and Vanessa made sure to leave us with recommendations of the area, access to tea and coffee, and even some welcoming chocolate bars! They are truly experts in hospitality and this would be a great place for a couple or family with a small child to have a relaxing getaway.

The condo was exceptionally clean and well stocked. We have stayed a number of places in Bernards and The Petite Retreat does not disappoint. Location (and the view for morning coffee) is perfect. We would absolutely stay here again!

My husband and I had a wonderful stay at the Petite Lake Retreat! We've stayed in many vacation rentals across the US and Europe, and this was one of the most thoughtfully appointed spots we've been to; like they thought of everything you might need! Communication was excellent, and things were thoroughly labeled, so we felt well-oriented. The decor's seamless color palette echos the blue of the lake, and many thoughtful touches add to the retreat-like feel. Highly recommend!

We had a great time…aside from some bad weather, so it was great to have the amenities of the gym and such when we were waiting for the sun to come out. You guys thought of all the little details!
