228 E. FACTOR'S WALK is a spacious, luxurious, one-of-a-kind loft apartment located in the Paxton Building in Savannah’s historic Factor’s Walk overlooking River Street, and the Savannah River.

Factor’s Walk is one of the most important historical areas of Savannah. The lower two levels were constructed in 1817 to house cotton coming into port. In 1853, three more floors were added. The third floor that houses our Loft was used for additional cotton storage and the two upper floors for offices. “Factor” was the name given to men who estimated the amount of cotton in a shipment. They calculated or “factored” the amount of cotton and its worth.

The exterior walls, massive doors and balcony have been pain-stakenly preserved and restored at 228 E. Factor’s Walk to maintain the historic integrity of the original building. The Loft features the original interior walls of exposed brick and stone. The stone was used as ballast in ships that sailed to Savannah from England, and upon reaching port, used to construct the cobblestone streets of Savannah and walls in Factor’s Walk such as ours. Inside, the original perimeter walls of exposed brick and ballast stone blend with with the modern sophistication of our curved hallway, pocket doors and bamboo flooring. Architectural features, including a granite bedroom wall, onyx tile bath and stainless and granite kitchen make every room special. The Loft features original artwork by some of the South’s top artists, along with ancient Asian artifacts and antique European accessories.

Our 1,500 sq. ft. two bedroom, two bath loft with a fully furnished kitchen is the only residential property overlooking River Street and the Savannah River that features both an original “stoop” and a ten foot balcony off the master bedroom overlooking the Savannah River.

The master bedroom features a king-size bed, balcony overlooking the Savannah River, and a luxurious full bath with Jacuzzi tub and shower. The second bedroom is furnished with a full-size bed and has a full bath with shower.

Our fully equipped kitchen features Thermador and Bosch kitchen appliances for eating in, or you can just step out the door and walk to some of Savannah’s finest restaurants.

228 E. Factor’s Walk Loft offers wonderful views of the Savannah River as well as the convenience of location in the heart of the City.

Savannah is home to a myriad of historical and cultural attractions, terrific tours, the best in Southern Cuisine, as well as shopping and numerous festivals scheduled throughout the year.

Take advantage of our one of a kind balcony/stoop with patio seating fora panoramic view of the Savannah River, enjoy al fresco dining, or just people watch.

Parking is available in metered spaces on Bay St. There are also public lots and decks nearby. The City of Savannah offers 24hr and 48hr Visitor Day Passes. Visitor DAYPASS is available at: Sav. Parking Services, 100 E.Bryan St. only a block from our condo.

All Historic Savannah has to offer is in walking distance of our condo. The Historic Districts, museums, endless shopping, Plant River District, City Market and Savannah's finest restaurants are only steps away.

Our goal is to provide our guests with the ultimate accommodations in all of Savannah. Providing the comfort and convenience that they are accustomed to at home, with the added beauty and Southern charm for which Savannah is known.

Our condo is self check-in. Guests are given security codes to access exterior door locks on the patio for entry.

    We like staying at this place when we visit Savannah. The location is great for walking along the river front and watching the ships go by from the balcony. Owner is great at communicating quickly. There is no longer a parking spot dedicated to this place but there is nearby lots that worked for us. Good furnishing in the bathrooms, bedrooms and kitchen. We look forward to staying there again on our next trip back to Savannah.

    Overall it was an amazing place! I would recommend to most with a couple of notes. First-it is NOT a good place for anyone with even slight mobility issues. The stairs leading inside are STEAP, uneven and slippery. As is the walking path up to the steps. There are also unexpected steps inside the apartment. It was not an issue for us, but would be a hazard for many. Pros:FANTASTIC location with amazing views. We had fun watching the container boats, people and shopping along the river street. Felt safe and secure (although was a little nervous that someone could lock us in, which is what you are told to do when leaving each day).Comfortable, spacious and well appointed.Cons: There were several stains on the couch, bedding, pillows etc. It was a bit off putting to see, but the bedding did smell fresh.The TV had a code that was not provided so it was difficult to watch anything.Typically there is a little starter coffee along with some sugars etc and maybe even a few bottles of water and some seasonings provided at arrival. This place had NOTHING. There is not a convenient store to grab even basic stuff so we ended up needing to Uber to a place to get some basic items. There was also only 1 roll of toilet paper in each bathroom for a 5 night stay. Many of the cabinets are locked for owners (far more than normal) and the others had various cleaners and random stuff haphazardly inside.

    This place was awesome. We enjoyed the view, especially watching the fireworks over the river, right off of the bedroom balcony for New Years. The closeness of everything you would want. All of the tours that we took would pick us up just a few steps from the door, which allowed us to park and not drive again. The furnishings and kitchen was great. Having a good kitchen, most would think we are going out and no cooking, but on days that it was rainy and cold I had groceries delivered to door and cooked in. Thank you so much for sharing you piece of paradise. This place is the kind of place I search for on VBRO for my vacations.

    The location was perfect for everything we had planned. The accommodations were awesome! Beds were comfortable. Linens were amazing. Views from both balconies were awesome! Could use a few more mirrors and at least one full length mirror in the apartment. All in all we loved it! And will definitely stay here again if we visit Savannah in the future.

    We were 4 sisters celebrating our youngest sisters 50th birthdays over a long weekend. The unit was adorable. Loved the decor, kitchen space, brick walls and the living area was very comfortable. Greatly enjoyed the patio where all 4 of us could sit after a long day and drink wine, eat a cheese plate (with honeycomb from Savannah bee company and glazed pecans from candy store next door), listen to music and play cards. Very convenient to everything on River street and a great people watching location. Checkout instructions were easy to adhere to. Would highly recommend.
