Bodensee, Lake Constance, Ludwigshafen Charming Jewel Steps Away from the Water

Brigitte was an absolute treasure to deal with and has created a real home from home in her beautiful apartment, a class above most stays we have done which we really appreciated! We had a really relaxing time and thoroughly enjoyed some time out staying local after lots of travelling, great lakeside bathing, a bar and several restaurants and lovely local walks and towns too. Thank you Brigitte for a truly memorable stay in Lake Konstanz!

This is a beautiful apartment steps from the waterfront. A comfortable beautifully decorated apartment in an historic building. This was the perfect spot for two architects to stay. The owner was a wonderful person and made our stay so relaxed and easy! We hope to come back again.

Our family had a wonderful week in this compact but lovely condo. The location could not be better, and the furnishings and ambience of the place were perfect. We were all sad to have to move on to the next place when the week was over. Thanks Brigitte for helping us navigate the minor issues we faced during our time and being so understanding. Cute, quaint and exceptionally kept! I knew it was a good location but was pleasantly surprised to find a beautiful promenade with a park just around the corner, an Edeka market and DM nearly a sones throw away, and the lake just steps away! As the weather was not as sunny as we hoped for, this property played a huge part in making it a wonderful week to forget about work and enjoy the beauty of the western parts of Lake Constance. We were happy to enjoy the beautiful terrace at least at the first day of our visit, so we had the full experience. Perfectly equiped, nice assistance from the owner, even from far away. We might be back.

We stayed at this apartment for a week in August. It was very clean and everything looked brand new. The decor of the apartment was GORGEOUS with arches , lots of windows, high ceilings, beautiful paintings and a patio with a long table, chairs and beautiful flowers that we ate breakfast at everyday. There is a dishwasher, oven, cooking range, tv with cable and Wifi. The owner, Brigitte, was very kind and informative. She really went out of her way to make sure everything was to our liking. I would definitely highly recommend this property to a couple or a family of up to 4 people. There is a huge supermarket one minute walk away and many restaurants within a five minute walk. Also Lake Constance itself is a five minute walk away and you can swim there. It was very helpful that we had our own parking spot right outside the apartment and that the nights were very quiet. This is a great location to get to multiple sites including Rhine Falls, Meersburg, Mainau Island, the Black Forest etc. Also only an hour drive away from Zurich Airport. If we ever return to this region we will definitely stay here again.

We spent a wonderful week there and found exactly what we had hoped to find and what both pictures and description anticipated. A very tastily designed and furnished apartment for couples or small families with all amenities you need. In an area that is very laid back, calm and quiet, yet in walking distance from all a small town center and still close to the water. And a good starting point to explore the calm and beautifull area of lake Constance in a close proximity to many sightseeing jewels on the Überlinger See as well as on the Untersee. And in case the weather is not so good once, one can still feel very comfortable inside the apartment or inbetween the big plants on the private deck.

We just spent 2 glorious weeks in this condo. The condo is located a couple of minutes walk from the lake and a beautiful park along the lake. Our day often started with a walk to the park to see the sailboats, the swans and ducks and families enjoying the park. The condo its self is spacious with a full kitchen, large living room dining area and a large bedroom and bath. One of the extras is that the kitchen and bedroom both open up onto a large deck/patio made private by shrubbery. We often enjoyed our morning coffee and evening cocktails on the deck. Ludwigshafen is a small town with its own bakery, butcher shop and full market as well as numerous restaurants, all within easy walking distance. The condo is adjacent to the bicycle-walking path around the lake which we used often walking to the next village for lunch. In addition to the path around the lake there are numerous walking trails up into the hills around the lake. The park on the lake noted earlier has an information center with hiking trail maps in the area. The condo has its own parking spot right outside the courtyard leading to the condo. We drove to many sites, but the best was the island of Mainau and the beautiful flowers. We highly recommend this property and would not hesitate to make a return visit.

My husband and I chose this lovely condo based on the photos shown in the listing. We were very pleased and happy to experience it. It was just as beautiful as the pictures portray. Brigitte was so very helpful during the entire reservation process and provided wonderful insights and ideas for exploring the area when we arrived. The Bodensee is a beautiful Alpine lake and this place is the perfect romantic getaway to enjoy it! There are excellent restaurants within walking distance (the Blauer Affe is fantastic and just down the street) and lovely cities to explore by car. One of the beautiful areas to explore is the wonderful trail between the condo in Ludwigshafen and Bodman which provides a good stretch of the legs on a level path with more restaurants and sites to explore in Bodman. Lots of beautiful views on the way too! We also visited the lovely spa in Uberlingen and enjoyed the nice pools and hot tubs. They also have a very nice sauna...since we are in Europe nude bathing in this area is natural. Americans be prepared since this is not typical in the states but allow yourself to enjoy it. There are lots of Lakeside promenades with restaurants and cafes in nearly every town on the lake. It is so beautiful and you feel as you are truly living la dolce vita on the German Riviera. If you have limited German speaking...bring a dictionary or device to translate. It will be very helpful when ordering food and getting around. The city of Birnau has a beautiful Basilica, Meersburg is an absolutely gorgeous town with wonderful views, restaurants, shopping and of course a castle. Nearly every city on the lake has its own wonderful offerings and each stop is unique and beautiful. This condo is like sharing a part of this area's special history. On the outside it looks like a beautiful, preserved chateau and on the inside it maintains its same appearance but at the same time is very new and modern. It is also very clean and comfortable! I would definitely recommend this location and special condo for exploring this beautiful area.
