Beautifully Remodeled, Oceanfront, 3rd-Floor Condo with Balcony & Shared Pools

This was not our first stay at Southwinds but it was our first stay in this specific until A16. The view is great and just as shown/described. That was the best part. However we walked in and the floors were filthy. Yes I know we are at the beach but it did not seem like the floors were cleaned very well or at all between us and the guests before us. The fridge was rust on the outside, inside was fine. The microwave worked but it had to always be unplugged due to the fan being stuck on high when in use. The balcony did not have a line to hang wet towels/suits like it was supposed to have. We got a notice on our door about hanging things over the balcony but we had no other choice. The couches looked and felt very dirty so we bought sheets to put over them to make sitting more comfortable. The windows could not be opened even if you wanted to if the weather was nice due to having portable ac units in them. The blinds could not be shut down all the way due to these things being in the windows as well and could definitely be see by people down below if not careful. We also had to request cleaning supplies be brought to us such as a mop and broom so we could clean the floors ourselves. The condo did not have any of this prior to us requesting them. There was also bits of trash around one of the toilets including someone’s used nasal strip from the people before us. We will not be staying in A16 again.

The view from the balcony is fantastic looking over the Southwinds boardwalk over the dunes and overlooking the pool. Plenty of room to sleep 4 people comfortably or more if you bring an air mattress or sleep on the sofa. The room felt very secure and Southwinds is very family friendly with everyone respectful of others, even on a busy holiday weekend.

This unit is in a great location with a beautiful ocean view from the balcony. The condo has a lot of potential. However, it also has some quirks. The microwave has to remain unplugged unless being used or the exhaust fan will run loudly and will not shut off. The tvs are cable only. There is a DVD player but a basket of VHS tapes. Also, the overall cleanliness of the unit is not great; I swept a dustpan full of sand/dirt off the floor immediately upon check in. The bathrooms need some love and a deep cleaning. With some care and maybe a couple upgrades, this could easily be a 5 star unit.

This place was nice and clean. Great view from balcony. It states sleeps 6 but I think 4 is plenty. Kitchen not very well stocked. Bathrooms need non slick mats for showers. Floors are very slick and a towel doesn't work. Otherwise this is a nice place

Some updates needed, refrigerator was rusted, shower slow to drain and puddled in bottom while in use, other tub was busted and had a large tape patch on it. Condo was on third floor and only way up and down was steps which made bringing luggage and food tough. Overall, condo was nice as well as clean, property was very nice, and the view was amazing.

The condo is just as pictured. It was perfect for our family trip. The view from the balcony is beautiful and right next to a pool. We loved that the condo is right next to Fort Macon State Park. We spent a day there exploring the Fort and beaches. We would definitely stay here again.

This unit has a beautiful ocean view. It’s a third floor rental so be prepared for stairs as there’s no elevator. The check in/out process is bumpy as there is a keyless entry and vacasa sends you a code but also requires you to pick up a packet with a key- this is likely because the door lock system isn’t easy to use with either the key or the code. You also have to drop the packet back to the office prior to leaving. The Vacasa emails and directions do not match the physical packet we were given for checking in/out. There were several issues with things that needed to be updated, most prominently were the note on the main bath/shower asking us not to use it, the screen door that fell off when we opened it, and the microwave we had to plug in and then promptly unplug because the fan would not stop running. Vacasa did issue a discount for these inconveniences. There were a few minor things as well, and Vacasa offered to send someone over but we declined as we didn’t want people working in the space while we were there. The unit itself is a cute space, cozy and comfy, and the patio furniture was perfect for viewing the beautiful coastal sunset. The grounds are clean and well kept with two pools and easy access to the beach!

Had a great time. The beach was beautiful. All the neighbors were so nice. I can’t wait to come back.

Nice condo. The view was terrific. There were some issues that we reported to the property manager (microwave fan never stops, master bath sink is pulling away from the wall, and there is potential for a leak in the 2nd bathroom...grout is pulling away from the bathtub). None affected our stay. The shower in the master bath is quite small and it can be dangerous stepping out as you have to step down and there is an optical illusion with the tile of the shower and the floor. Overall, it was a nice condo.

We absolutely loved the condo. From the views to the accommodations it was completely 5 Star. The only minor issue we had was there was no parking permit in the condo but the front gate very kindly gave one when we got a notification. Other than that we had a wonderful time. The condo is so pretty. Had everything we needed and more. The beds were very comfortable. The little deck was spectacular to enjoy the views from. Thank you so much for sharing your home. We stayed in Condo A16 in Southwinds. The location to beach, pool and views were all excellent. We were on 3rd floor which is what you need to book for the ocean views, but be aware if you are middle aged,and have a lot of luggage as we did, there is no elevator or travel carts and the multiple trips coming and going can be exhausting. The condo itself was serviceable, especially just for my wife and I, but not high end accommodations. The condo had some quirks and showed the signs of a long beach season in terms of cleanliness. That said we would stay there again.

This place was wonderful! The room was very nice, and clean. Pool was great, and very well maintained. We stayed in building A, and the beach access was right there at us. The beach was very clean, and they had lifegaurds patroling the area as well. There were a few minor inconveniences though. The wifi is terrible, extremely slow and didn't work half the time. You also can't connect a roku/fire stick to the tvs, or any game system to stream anything. The pull out bed was missing all but 3 springs, so we couldn't use it. Also, an outlet in one of the bedrooms didn't work. Those werent horrible issues though, and we'd definitely stay again!

Really should only be listed as a 4 person condo. The kitchen had pots and pans but no hot mit, no dust pan for the broom so cleaning was difficult, no kid cups/limited plastic ware and a lot of glass, the ice maker does not work (there was an ice tray). All that to say the balcony is amazing and you can’t beat the view. The balcony furniture is nice.
