The property view is beautiful. Close to beautiful beaches. If the property can be cleaner, the experience will be perfect!
Overall beautiful space and excellent views. Great neighborhood and good experience. The only thing is, appliances and kitchen utensils need more care and cleanliness. They were a bit dirty and rusted on arrival.
Property was everything we wanted except NO POOL. Pictures of Pool and Pool Area were very inviting but very misleading. The fine print on the website said the dates of pool construction but it should have been fully disclosed when we booked the rental. No effort was made by Property Company to warn us prior to our trip.
Our family of 4 adults from Australia visited the 'big island' and stayed in this property for 3 nights. The Cons: Firstly, we encountered 3 Cockroaches on our first night at the property and they were in the kitchen and master bedroom. Secondly, a mattress 'topper' was on the Master King bed, i.e. another mattress was on top of the actual mattress. This provided an extra unwarranted softness and give to the bed that caused it to be less comfortable than what it should have. We could only assume its purpose was to protect the actual mattress for the owner. The huge TV was great but has pixel damage at the bottom right corner of the screen. The photos of the property was taken a while ago and the property has aged since. For the price, we expected a bit more comfort and cleanliness for our accommodation. The Pros: Location: The ocean views, the proximity to snorkelling waters and boat ramp, proximity to shops and dining. There was parking for one vehicle in front of the property. I would still recommend this property if the pest problem is resolved.
Nice Condo with a large lanai with a view. Quiet neighborhood. We had a few minor issues that the property managers addressed quickly. Like other beach properties we stayed at the condo came with most beach gear. But like the others the beach chairs were pretty shot. At least 4 beach chairs in good condition is a nice amenity that goes a long way.
We stayed for one week at this townhouse. The kitchen was well stocked for those extra things (like foil, spices) that are so handy when one is away. There were a few issues that were not so great...one was the amount of runner rugs covering all of the main living area. They were a major trip hazard, especially on the stairs. No trash bags, no soap in the bathrooms to wash one's hands and no broom or dust pan! We did enjoy the lanai tremendously! The barbeque in the parking lot was not particularly inviting. This unit needs to be upgraded but we do understand that after the last 3 years it is understandable. Thank you for letting us stay at your townhouse.
Enjoyed our stay greatly. The unit was well stocked with everything you might need. Excellent pool and lovely gardens. It is v close to shops, an excellent snorkeling spot and tour boats for manta rays. It is a little drive from the main town (about 15min). I would recommend bringing sleeping masks as bedrooms don’t have curtains and so sleeping in past 6am is almost impossible. The unit is a little worn but it doesn’t make any difference to your stay. We really loved our time in Kona and at this place
My husband and I stayed 3 weeks in this condo. We loved the view and location. We had some problems with allergies and attribute that to the carpet since we have spent our life visiting family in Hawaii and never had a problem. The carpet was very damp and smelled when we first arrived. We kept the place well aired during our stay which helped with the dampness and smell. Craig was helpful when I contacted him regarding the problem and attentive to finding a solution to the problem. Thank you Craig. We love Keauhou Resort but will most likely stay in another unit next visit
We enjoyed our stay here. Nice location, spacious room !
This was an exceptionally well stocked condo. There was plenty of staple items, such as paper towels, tp, seasonings, even coffee. The view from the lanai was beautiful and it quickly became our favorite room. The TV was the largest and best I've ever had in a vacation condo and was perfect for watching the Super Bowl. Thank you to our hosts for making it a special vacation.
Unit was as described as pictured….quite nice in all regards. The downside is the traffic noise at night and early morning while trying to sleep. Because of the louvered windows you can’t block out the noise. Nice place and location but I wouldn’t stay here again - just because of the traffic noise.
Our family of five stayed for ten nights and had a wonderful time. Condo is in a quiet community with lush, well maintained setting. Pool and bbq area are very nice, lots of birds to greet you each morning. Condo itself has nice split level design which allowed kids and parents to have their own space/floor. Balconies on two levels offered wonderful, elevated views of ocean and sunsets. Plenty of beach equipment provided to get you started though larger groups will need to rent some things. We did not have any issues so we did not have a need to contact property manager but check in/out process was easy. We would definitely stay here again.
Beautiful condo, beautiful view and beautiful facility. My family and I loved our stay. I would recommend this facility to family and friends.
Overall this was a great property although a little warm without AC which was really the only negative. I did find what May have been a window fan as we were doing a final check before we left which may have helped a bit more in the upper bedroom.
I would call this place satisfactory, certainly nothing impressive. The rooms were nice and clean, bed was comfortable, and the area is nice. The best part is easily the view; it's even better than in the listing picture. We found four cockroaches, two in the kitchen and two in the bedroom. There was nothing to warn of this, which I thought odd, because there is a sign warning of ants and asking that you keep all food sealed and/or put away. There was also no warning about the painting. When we arrived, there was a mess of coolers and supplies left on the lanai, as well as painters tape and crumbling paper covering the banister. I'm sure this has nothing to do with the owner of the unit, but rather the HOA or vacation company. However, I feel warning is appropriate when painters are going to be making a lot of noise right outside your window and entering your space. They started early in the morning, putting noisy ladders up against the lanais, and even came onto the lanai without us knowing anything about it. One lanai being right on the main bedroom with sheer curtains. Small note - ask for details on the pool. It's location is not obvious and directions aren't offered up front. Also, you need the access information. I recommend asking these questions before you arrive, as you may not get anyone once you're there and wanting to use the pool. As for the actual rental/booking process, it got a bit cumbersome keeping track of the different things coming from, and needed by, VRBO vs Kona Vacation Rentals. Cards are charged by both for separate aspects of the booking. Kona Vacation Rentals requires a lot of extra paperwork that I have never had to deal with while renting vacation places. Also, Kona Vacation Rentals (being completely separate from VRBO) communicates via email, so remember to check your email, not just your VRBO account if you book this listing. Honestly, it's probably better to just book it through Kona Vacation Rentals and not deal with the booking procedures of both. Overall, it was an okay place to stay, mostly served what we needed. I have to say, I expect better communication, and to not be dealing with strangers entering a space in which there is reasonable expectation of privacy, and that I am paying for.
We loved our stay at this condo! The pool was very close to walk to and accommodated both our kiddos and older adults. The view out our back deck was phenomenal of the ocean. Also walking distance to the snorkeling excursion we went on. Only about 10 min drive give or take into Kona for restaurants and shops. A bit of a drive for the kids to Hilo and a couple national parks but 100% worth it! We loved it here on the Big Island and our stay on the condo! Will definitely be back!
