Stayed Apr 11, 2025The building is the construction site with scaffolding and construction materials around and in the building. The unit is advertised as newly renovated while furniture seems very old and moldy. The unit had dirt and dust on the shelves, sink and kitchen ceiling lights when we arrived. The bedroom is not the proper bedroom: no door (just curtain), no window just old and dirty air vent covered with a towel through which you hear all the outside noise. The bathroom ceiling fan is very low and has visible electrical wires - very dangerous electrical shock hazard. The house rules are very strict (on how to wash the dishes and towels, wipe the floors) and communication with the owner very rigid, Garden and beach are beautiful.

Stayed Jan 21, 2020Great reef; sewer smell on street side. unit 202 has ocean view, but full of nik-naks leave less space for guest items, doors are hard to open and hard to close, fridge had lots of condiments and other food items in unit, I didn’t want to touch, pans were greasy. Shower had almost no pressure, just a trickle but fresh water hose outside.

Stayed Jun 3, 2026The view shown in the listing is not accurate. Ceiling fan is very low and is not safe for people over 5’10”. We cleaned everything prior to use. The owner loves their place and that’s great but it doesn’t always translate to a great guest stay. We have stayed in many different places and this was disappointing. We stayed only 1 night ( paid for 3) & left the next morning. Yes , the beachfront is lovely. The beds on offer are firstly, A double bed in a small curtained off area, no real ventilation. The 2nd bed is a futon folded out to a small double bed , this is in the kitchen/living part of the studio . We used this bed to ensure we could feel the breeze. The shower is over a bath, I recommend the owner replace the rusty curtain rail and replace the shower curtain.

Stayed May 2, 2026We loved staying at Janet's beautiful condo. The unit had a beautiful balcony with an ocean view, we were 2nd story and the beach was right there below. The unit was well-equipped, perhaps my most favorite thing of all. So many times you have to buy every little household item you need when you stay at a similar property arrangement. But the host, Janet, kindly shared with us the property's scuba gear, boogie boards, beach chairs, ample towels and bedding, she even provided toiletries to use, which we didn't need any. She also provided laundry soap, we had brought some but did use a couple of her supplies. It was so stocked and kind of her to treat the guest so well. My only complaint is the cleanliness of the place upon arriving was 4 out of 5 stars. The place needed a tiny bit more dusting, especially the bathroom exhaust fan. The kitchen and bathroom were pretty clean and the two beds provided were clean and comfortable. The unit was definitely worth the money! The parking lot refurbishment going on at the time was slightly bothersome but not majorly aggravating at all. Only slightly bothersome as it made parking around the building difficult. But Janet was very communicative about this and helped us to know the parking rules and complex rules. It was the best stay ever and we will hopefully book with Janet again!

Stayed Mar 3, 2026We arrived late to the property. It was extremely confusing with the parking (no fault of the host) to find a parking spot (we ended up on the main highway). There were many lockboxes to go through to find ours. The bathroom toilet floor area had lots of dark hair from a previous guest. The kitchen cupboards were full of someone’s food as well as the fridge. I felt like I was invading someone’s home. The beds were clean. We didn’t spend much time in the unit. It was a place to sleep and tidy up. For the price of this unit compared to where we were staying prior to this place, I feel it was not worth this much money for 2 nights. I think I would share more photos of the inside of the unit and maybe really describe the construction a bit more. This would not be a place I would choose again.

Stayed Dec 19, 2025We weren't expecting that the building and parking areas to be so old and and the apartment so tiny. Parking was a challenge for an SUV. It didn't help that it was raining and huge puddles. We found if we parked nearer to the stairwell closest to the unit, it was easier to get to the unit and beach and less stressful than navigating around the construction which was loud. The unit was clean (Except for the freezer) as was the beds and bedding. The apartment was cute but too cluttered. My husband is tall and disabled and found it very cramped--less is more. If you are going to be on the beach and out and about--no worries. Perfect for young college students. That being said--the beach is perfect. We swam even in the rain, saw pretty fish and turtles. It made up for these issues

Stayed Dec 2, 2025Location. Location. Location. Janet’s condo is in a fantastic location within a few steps of a wonderful beach with turtles and beautiful sunrises. There is an ocean view from the condo but has some obstruction from a building in front of the condo. The kitchen is well equipped, the bed is comfortable, and the shower is great with hot water. While we were there, the complex was being updated and the construction noise outside was loud at times. It didn’t bother us because we would leave shortly after the construction crew arrived to go out exploring during the day. We loved the location and would definitely stay here again.

Stayed Aug 4, 2025We really enjoyed our stay here! The home was spacious, the beds were comfortable, and there were many thoughtful amenities provided for the beach, which made our trip even easier. You can feel the Aloha spirit in how the owner communicates—she was so flexible, quick to respond, and truly helpful throughout our stay. One small note for future guests: while the photos give the impression of a clear ocean view from the front window, there are other buildings that partially obstruct it. This wasn’t a problem for us at all, since the beach is just a few steps away, and we spent our time enjoying the view right by the water. The small AC unit doesn’t cool the house drastically, so if you’re not comfortable opening the front and back doors to let the tradewinds breeze through, that’s something to keep in mind. One of the absolute highlights was visiting the beach late at night and seeing 10–15 turtles resting on the shore (just remember to keep your distance and avoid flashlights or flash photography). Another magical moment was heading out around 5:15 a.m. to watch the turtles return to the sea as the sun rose—a truly special experience. All in all, this home provided the perfect setting for relaxation, comfort, and memorable moments. Mahalo for such a great stay! We hope to come back!

Stayed Aug 9, 2025Our stay was just okay. It was exactly as advertised (except the AC doesn’t really do anything). It wasn’t quite as comfortable as we would’ve liked for our honeymoon. Check in was unique and the place was under a lot of construction (which I knew) but just probably not worth what we paid!

Stayed Jul 31, 2025We visited Waikiki first and this was such a nice change definitely quiet, beautiful view from the condo and the outdoor area is just amazing grass, flowers, lounge chairs, the beach, palm trees, turtles evening and morning. It was really an amazing spot. We spent a lot of time walking the beach in the water and lounging on the chairs in the evening just enjoying the breeze and the stars.

Stayed Jun 12, 2025This condo is clean and well maintained. It has great amenities. The owner is prompt with communication. The beach is beautiful with calm waters. We even saw sea turtles one morning! Having traveled to the tropics before, we know that AC is a rare commodity. We also know coming back to a cool bedroom is a luxury we are willing to pay for. Unfortunately, the AC in this unit was entirely inadequate. It was actually hotter in the condo after running it than it was without. Our only option to get any sleep was to leave the front and lanai doors open all night. Which meant waking up to neighbors staring in and a light from the hallway in our faces all night. Oh, and ice packs for our feet. The owner did offer to refund the charge for AC, which we are grateful for (but haven’t seen yet.)

Stayed Jun 20, 2025The oceanside and beach access was lovely. The size of the rental was perfect for our needs as we basically used it as a landing zone b/w excursions and so did not spend a lot of time inside. The location was also great for what we had planned to see and explore!

Stayed May 29, 2025Perfect location on Eastside of the island. Posting is accurate. Only drawbacks that we didn’t foresee was only having one key available and low ceilings. We are tall people but it was cozy. Basically what we expected after staying at several places around the island over the past year.

Stayed Sep 24, 2024The building is old and under renovation. The area is messy and noisy during the day when renovation is going on. Workers start early in the morning around 8am. The apartment is outdated and very crowded. Tiny ant is a big pest problem. However it is right on the beach. The view from room is not bad. Price is too high for the room quality and amenities.

Stayed Oct 8, 2024This is by far one of the most unique areas of Oahu, where you were able to visit both the North Shore and South Shores in an hour drive. The private beach location was extremely unique, to be able to walk out the door to the water. We saw plenty of sea turtles and even a harmless shark. Janet provides all the things needed for beach fun, as well. While we were there, there was a lot of construction going on, which we were warned about just a few days before arriving. The work was mid-day, but made parking a little difficult, and some strong smells in the morning. One thing to note, is that this is more of a studio style condo, and the most comfort for sleeping would be the living room futon. The portable AC unit wasn't working for us, which we let Jan know, and tried leaving the condo doors open, but could not get enough breeze to come through - and the mid-day/night downpours would often get things pretty wet. Overall, Janet has everything you need to enjoy the beach and the location is 5 stars. If you're doing Oahu the right way, you should be gone during the day and have the evenings to enjoy the beach, then have a roof over your head.
