Beachfront Hideaway | Water Views, Pool

November is one of the best times to be at the beach. We loved the view of the waves. Relaxing time. All was great.

Beach view grest, clean room, kitchen had everything we needed.

We enjoyed our stay. It was a great location, quiet and close to The Strand and other places.

Everything was wonderful.

Overall property was clean. Carpet in bedrooms was quite dirty with stains. Shower drain in master is not level and hurts when stepped on. Disappointed we did not get the same benefits as the owner with pool towels. Expect to be at a home away from home, but needed to bring extra towels, blankets and etc means bigger suitcases when flying. Bedrooms were warm with rest of areas colder. Furniture on balcony was old and not like the images. Very limited staff, pool umbrellas were blowing away and guest had to help other guests. Overall good time with family with the pool and beach.

It’s an OK condo. The living room furniture is questionable - maybe just old but almost looks dirty. 2 of the 3 lightbulbs in master bathroom were burned out and there were NO extra rolls of toilet paper left in the condo…again it was very OK but not sure I would rent again.

This condo is on the East end of the island so not much traffic on the beach. The pool got quiet at night. It is a little bit of a walk to the beach so my 80 year old mother could not do that. The condo was well-stocked so we were able to cook all of our meals there.

The location is great- the room was very nice. We love these condos and stay here often- **However it’s much better to rent directly from the Galvestonian’s website. Because this is a 3rd party (owned by a 4th party) they will NOT allow you to use the pool towels. *that’s why they say bring extra towels*This is a 3rd party (Ryson Vacarion Rentals) posting to VRBO owned by a ANOTHER company- Vtrips. Or maybe it’s the other way around? Too complicated. If there’s an issue you can’t just go to the front desk for help- you must call the 3rd party operator. THANKFULLY we did not have any major issues, but you can’t help but feel like second class citizens as a 3rd party renter. Kitchen is WELL stocked!! Very clean, comfortable beds. This is a 1st floor location. Note there are *NO* washer and dryer units in this condo.The beach at the Galvestonian is wheelchair accessible - and a fantastic location on the island. Wonderful atmosphere and quieter during the week than on the weekends. Still our favorite but will not use VRBO next time. I don’t like getting random texts from strange numbers asking for a selfie with my Photo ID. At least give me a courtesy call or email stating this is expected!

Our stay was clean and quiet. Had the shower door leak like some mentioned. My son was able to orientate the shower head to minimize after the first incident. As others mentioned, bring your own pool / beach towels. Also recommend bringing some extra dish soap and such. Condo is clean and nice. Convenient to the pool It was nice to be able to take the stairs down to the pool level and beach. Would stay here again!

Beautiful condo with an amazing view. Great for two couples or a family.

Positives: The Galvestonian itself was a nice property w/ friendly staff, and clean and kept grounds. Positive overall impression in this regard. Quieter end of the beach in a nicer Beach Town community. Pool was heated. Hot tub was great ... although it wasn't heating one day while we were there. Both showers were nice, as was the kitchen. The unit had everything we needed. Negatives: Unit wasn't cleaned when we arrived. We walked in to the unit after check in and found it untouched as the previous guest had left it. Towels on floor, not cleaned at all. Cleaning crew was dispatched from an off-site location and eventually arrived around an hour later to begin the make ready. So we werent able to access our room at check-in time. No washer/dryer in the unit nor on property. Just an FYI. If you have laundry and are staying in this unit, you'll need to find a laundromat. Sleep sofa in the living room is lumpy and uncomfortable. Master bed in rough shape ... squeaky, sinks at the sides, sits high in the middle. Master bathroom exhaust fan did not work. Master bathroom sink is clogged. Master bedroom light and fan have shared wiring or a switch issue and remain on or off together. We just removed the bulbs during our stay to keep the fan on and used lamps to light the room when needed. Trash found behind the bed in the second bedroom. In short - the unit needs a lot of TLC and doesn't match the standard of the property itself.

Stay was pretty nice. The unit we stayed in could use some minor work, but overall a good experience. If their had been a fan to use for sleeping that would've been a nice addition.

Loved are location it was close to all the places to, but away from most of the crowds.

New property and enjoyed the style of the cottage. It is in a convenient driving location to several attractions, restaurants, etc. Great place for a party of three or less.

Our stay was great. The location and easy access to the beach was exactly what we needed to recharge. The room was missing a few things (towels & pillows) but not enough to ruin our stay.
