Beachfront Haven – Beach Castle #3 by RVA

The condo was perfect for our stay. The beach access was unparalleled accompanied by comfortable beach chairs and sturdy beach umbrellas, which we made good use of.

The beach felt almost private. short walk from the condo and the property had beach umbrellas available for use.

The beach and dock on the bay were perfect for walking, relaxing and fishing. We wish it were a little more affordable. We splurged as this was last minute as our cruise plans canceled. We usually plan things in advance and would love to come back, but at $500 for one night with the cleaning fee it would be out of our reach financially. We loved our stay and wished we could have stayed longer. Longboat Key is so quiet and beautiful. It might not be ideal for those seeking to party or nightlife, but for us it was just perfect. Thank you.

Not at all experience/ stay expected, especially for price. 1.) Units garbage disposal needs changed. Smells like horrible fish/ rancid smell. After host was contacted management company to address, they simply but garbage disposal tabs and thought would do the trick. Did not, and sink opening had to be covered whole stay. 2.) Mold around sink base, look like they tried to be covered up by white caulk. 3.) HVAC filter looked like it has not been changed in forever. Maintenance changed after requested, but could see nothing but dust in utility closed. I have pics for proof. 4.) Leaking faucets. 5.) Battery acid on x-box remotes which children touched. 6.) View is not desirable as you have to stand up to even see view. 7.) Guests upstairs were up well into middle of night, and constant noise. 8.) 1 washer/ dryer for 4 units, very loud, never cleaned inside. Had re-wash clothing when returned home. 9.) Patio very run down, and did not feel clean to sit outside. 10.) Overall would never ever stay at this place. Felt dirty, barely taken care of, and frankly a waste of money. Charge such as high rental for such a horrible unit. I read other reviews prior, and I suggest don't trust them. Seek elsewhere if you don't want to waste almost 3 grand for 4 nights.

There are plenty of chairs and umbrellas, so don't bring any like I did. Everything was clean, we used the gas grill several times. The only bad thing we found was the swimming pool is small and the water was hot, but Beach Castle gave us a pass to the Tennis club 3 minutes away and they have an Olympic size pool that was very nice. All the guests were friendly, you start to meet on the beach. I would advise not to park under the trees, our car was full of ants from them falling out of the trees when the wind blew. We will defiantly stay here every time we come if there is a unit available. Randy at the office was very helpful every time we called with questions. Fishing was good of the dock. There is also a washer and dryer free in the building. That was a plus for us.

The only issue we had is the lock on sliding glass door on the back was broken. The accommodations were just as pictured with good parking and very close access to the beach.

Reviewer Comments: Location was fantastic, it was steps to beach however, the unit was sub par for the price. Broken sliders, broken toilet, terribly uncomfortable beds and pillows. Dirty shower curtain in bathroom, kitchen although it looked updated was stocked with old and mismatched things like flatware glassware and older, low end appliances. Whole unit needs an update and refresh! Wanted to enjoy being in the unit but just put a damper on the trip. The Beach Castle resort was lovely as always but we will surely choose a different unit next time.

Reported problems with all the TVs on day two nobody came to repair them let them know my dissatisfaction at check out and she said she’d pass the message on to the correct department. I have not received email or phone call from anyone.
