Beachfront Escape at Shell Island Beach Club 5B

This was our first stay on Sanibel Island and we had a wonderful experience. The condo was very clean, easy to access, and had a beautiful ocean view. We loved the quiet mornings and watching the sunrises from the screened-in patio.The location was perfect — close to the lighthouse and ideal for exploring the island. We visited the wildlife refuge, shell museum, and local wildlife rehabilitation center, and enjoyed the many nearby restaurant options. Sanibel has such a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere, and this condo was a great place to enjoy it. We would happily stay here again.

The location is perfect and close to the Lighthouse, the beach access is also close. The condo was very well maintained.

The condo is lovely! The location and views are terrific, and the condition is very nice! The resort is in the midst or being rebuilt from Hurricane Ian in 2022. The pool and tennis court were unavailable, but we didnt care, because we wanted the beach, and it was gorgeous, and not crowded at all.

We enjoyed our week at Sanibel. The condo was super clean with beautiful views. The beds were a little firm for our taste. Overall, it was an excellent stay. We would return.

Our complaints:Wall pictures so old, the frames bent and picture was faded/Bucket under kitchen counter that was catching a leaking drain.-Discovered on vacating.Smelled horrible/A Dryer that didn't dry clothes/Sofa that was very worn and extremely uncomfortable due to age/Dirty A/C Vents/Kitchen utensils were horrible and needed updating.

We have two timeshares but one week is never enough so we always extend the trip by renting another unit at Shell Island for a few days. Shell Island 5B was a fine unit overall we were happy with our stay. There were a few small things about the unit that we felt could be improved (some deferred maintenance/minor cleanliness items) but overall nothing that I would say would keep us or should keep others from renting the unit in the future.

We have found our favorite Florida location. This wonderful property is located on a lush beautiful island with plenty of amenities and activities. Specifically this property is located on the quiet end of the island where access to the beach, pool, and bike paths make it a perfect place for families to relax. The condo had everything we needed, including a gas grill which came in handy when we bought fresh fish and produce at the farmers market on Sunday morning. We will definitely come back.

If you like the quieter east end of Sanibel this is a good location for you. Our unit, 5B, was in good condition with some signs of wear evident. We enjoyed the closeness to the beach, as well as the pool area which is very well maintained. The rental management, Select Vacation Properties, always provides great service. For the long stay we greatly appreciated the fully stocked kitchen, as well as the washer and dryer. It would be helpful to have a vacuum cleaner or mop in the unit since it can be hard to keep the floors clean with all the sand being brought in.

This property Is the only place I’ve ever stayed at in Sanibel. Why look anywhere else when I truly love it.
