Beach House 105 - Two Bedroom, Two Bath Updated Beach Condo

Spent time catching up and laughing. The unit was clean and appropriate for our needs. It was a nice time.

Unfortunately, I find the entire Beach House condos to be lacking in their upkeep. It seems each year they are getting worse and worse. I will not be staying at the Beach House next year.

Unfortunately, there was a fairly strong odor that came from under the fridge and a musty smell that kind of permeated the rest of the place. It wasn't awful, but it was a bit off putting. It would be great if there were better blankets for the pull out couch and beds. The ones provided were old, scratchy and didn't look clean.

However, for the high cost to stay in Beach House 105 the value was not there at all. That's on the owners. As a former owner of a Beach House unit, the HOA has locked doors making it difficult to load/unload your vehicle and rendering a parking lot relatively useless.The kitchen in the unit is packed with a bunch of junk, quite frankly. So much so that there is nowhere to put your groceries and dry goods. The washer did not work properly and loads needed to be soaked, slowing down how we did laundry.We have stayed in many different beach house units and our group rented 6 different ones this year. Unit 105 was not one we would choose again. Unit 107 was beautiful for hundreds of dollars less.If you are going to charge the most you better be prepared to meet expectations. This unit did not and the paranoid HOA closing a key door for load/unloading rendered the prime location kind of useless. Especially considering there are no elevators, making load/unload more difficult to weekly rentals is not smart.

Right outside your door is the pool, decking, and beach access only steps away. Only downside to that is a lot of outside noise. Had some not considerate other guests that were very loud at inappropriate hours outside our condo but I guess that’s the price of convenience. I wish there was something mentioning the no tent rule for the beach as this is the first beach I’ve encountered this issue, now I know to look up beach rules before going to a specific beach. Furniture was super nice (almost all had plugs and usb ports in the top of them for easy access) and beds were comfy. The cleaning people missed some stuff but overall it was good condition with some minor cleaning ourselves. With a few hiccups, our little last minute getaway was a success and enjoyable!

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: One couple- who owned one condo- introduced themselves to me as representatives of the Beach House HOA. During our stay we had 8 units occupied with our friends and family! We have always rented our beach furniture. Please keep in mind that our “camp” was set up on the beach by 7:00 am and did not get taken down until well after 6:00 on nice days. I was told that our beach furniture had to be taken in and stored on our deck- in addition the HOA REPRESENTATIVE said it could not be stored in the hallways! Later- this same HOA REP was seen by my family removing a no parking cone from a parking spot under what I assumed was her unit! We were told that we would be fined for an infraction that we did not know of until the 60 people in my party had arrived! While she is permitted to reserve her own parking spot in a situation of “first come first serve”, my family and I invested well over $25,000.00 for seven days to only be hounded by the HOA couple who acted like they were above the rules! Disappointed in the week! We will stay elsewhere! I hope someone from the HOA reads this and sits the couple down for a talk! They need it!

There was a very strong damp smell that made me feel like I was breathing unhealthy air. The floors, kitchen, and bathrooms were all very clean. I just couldn’t get past the smell. Doubt I would stay in this condo again.

However, 4 items need updating:1) New Queen Mattress/box spring- feeling old and sagging.2) New couch with a vinyl material that does not collect dirt.3) Old recliner chair should be replaced,also with a material like a smooth vinyl that will not absorb dirt and sand.4)Fix flooring where it has lifted off subfloor.If those 4 items were updated- 5 stars.
