Bayside dog-friendly condo w/views, pool & hot tub - walk to beach & Beach Club

This condo was great! The bayside was nice but would be nice to be closer to the beach. The kitchen could use a better coffee maker, coffee cups, and pots and pans. Also the TV could be upgraded, but overall very comfy and quiet. Loved the big balcony!

The property was clean, but it smelt musty. There was not a lot of room for parking because the parking garage was being renovated. Also, the elevator was out of order which made carrying luggage and groceries up to the third floor difficult.

First off. I would give a negative number if I could. This condo was pathetic. We have traveled a lot over the years(leisure and work), I have never seen anything so dirty. The following are the issues we had on the first and only day. We got there was never told the unit was in the third floor prior to getting there. We start to unload and go on the elevator, push the button and acts it's going up but them drops slightly, so not safe. So have to lug all the bags up. (4PM)We get to the door and the code that was given doesn't work. They have a 10 digit number and it only accepts 7 numbers then the light turns red. So we had to contact customer service to find out how to get in. They gave us a backup code for the lockbox to use the key. (430PM)We got in, kind of smelly when we first walked in and it was supposedly just cleaned. (5PM)So we make a list for groceries and brought food back. (730PM)We sat down to eat and the dirt caked on AC filter staring us in our faces. And the kitchen lights going in and out(flickering). Then we look around and the ceiling fan blades are the same throughout the place. (8-830PM)So we decide to take showers and then relax, the master bath shower had mold all around it in the grout. The front bathroom, the facet came out of the wall when we turned it on, the mirror is so rusted, you can't see yourself in it. First stay with Vrbo. Very possibly the last. Definitely the last with a Vacasa listing. Check in was a nightmare. I received two different addresses. The first address sent me to a unit someone was already in. So unsafe. We're in Texas and are lucky that person didnt act drastically. Then we get to the unit, after 8 flights of stairs carrying luggage, food, and children, the 10 digit code doest work on the keypad that only accepts 4 digits. After being on hold, the person answers and gives me the same code in the text. Then finally after a series of try this try that we get to the lockbox with a master code for a backup key. We get inside, mostly ok except the subpar AC and some baking sheets that are filthy. The back porch is covered in hundreds of spider egg sacs. Hard to relax with that all around you. The doors are all hard to close because of the rust in the latches. Overall, truly a bad experience. I tried to respond to a text asking if it was clean and they immediately want picture evidence. Which I couldn't provide because I already had cleaned them to start dinner. If it hadn't taken an hour to find/get into the correct unit I would have taken pictures.

Place was very clean, smelled a little stale but airing out helped. Only gave two stars because elevator did not work and condo is on the third level. So that means you have to drag everything up 6 flights of stairs. That was hard work, especially first day bring up everything. Would have been nice to know before hand, also had to call for door code. But after all that craziness everything went fine no issues pretty quiet, just there for a weekend wedding.

Everything was good enough, but the elevator doesn’t work is four floors to go up, is very bad for disability people like my son.

I love the views of the apartment, enough space for a family, and close to the beach, the air condition working good. Good communication and quick respond to fix any problem. Bad points The elevator doesn’t work, so was a negative point specially for disability people like my son and are four floors to go up. You need to buy enough food because the supermarket are not close. To much mosquito in the front door.

This condo was run down and not as clean as others we have stayed in. Although it is a known issue, we have never had as many elevator issues as we did with this condo building, in previous stays at Pointe West. Overall, we enjoy renting with Vacasa but there are better condo options than this one to pick in the future.

Galveston is beautiful and not nearly as busy as Alabama or Florida. The facilities on the resort were great. Rick’s Rentals was great!

positives- clean comfortable beds decent size negatives- smelled bad amenities where under construction ... the pool was available but over a mile from the room Tvs were tiny elevator was broken and this was the third floor 35min drive to do anything in galveston front desk is rude restraunt is expensive and hours suck dryer doesn't dry well thermostat is hidden so you can't turn down the ac it was loud outside at night...

We had a family weekend getaway for my son’s 10th birthday, the condo itself was fine but a major drawback was the broken elevator. This was the most difficult since my elderly mother and our toddler were with us. We hardly spent time at the home because it was so hard to get them up and down 4 flights of stairs with all of our beach/pool gear. Property management and Pointe West office didn’t seem concerned or confident that anyone would come fix the elevator either. Otherwise the beach club is a lot of fun. The condo does not come equipped with any beach items (chairs, toys etc.) so be sure to bring your own!

It was the perfect weekend get away

We've stayed multiple years and similar condos across the street, int he same cul-de-sac as well as a different floor. This one unit however, is extremely outdated and dirty. Whatever you do, when asked to strip the bed, don't. You will not want to come back.

The beach was on the other side. We were on the bay side. Did not love that.

The family and I really enjoyed our stay great location. Plenty of privacy is a little bit far from town but so worth it for the privacy.

The clenliness of the property

Love the location, comfortable enough, despite the humidity smell and the NONE working elevator, the place is really comfortable, it has all the basics. I would definitely come back again.

Great size, good price, clean, and close to the beach.

Although on the lagoon side across the highway, the location has beautiful sunset views and is a short walk from the beach access.
