Summary:

Brick Loft Penthouse on Main

The Space:

This massive 2,000 square foot historic brick-walled loft space is central to the beauty and marvel of Brevard, North Carolina, “The Land of the Waterfalls”. In the very heart of town, this loft is surrounded by restaurants, shopping, art galleries, breweries, music venues, parks, and outdoor spaces. In its former life, this space was a ‘gentlemen’s club’ featuring a private viewing space for silent movies and boxing matches hosted downstairs. It is now a glamorous fully updated living space, retaining all the glory and charm of the olden days, with original 1880s iron chandeliers throughout, wooden floors, 16-foot brick walls, and impressive views from all of the 13 windows overlooking Main Street and surrounding mountains. Brevard Brick Loft is your launching pad to numerous parks, forests, waterfalls, biking, and hiking trails. Once you enter the space, you can’t help but feel the history in the walls as you take in the vintage wood floors, massive chandeliers, exposed floor-to-ceiling brick walls, and huge open floor plan. The fully updated kitchen includes a bar with brass railing. There is also a grand piano to add to the splendor. Brevard is a four seasons town. Year-round, there are community festivals, beer tastings, music performances, and plentiful outdoor activities to be enjoyed on nearby trails with entry points just a few yards away. Brevard is a foodie mecca – you won’t run out of places to dine, from budget bites to fine eating establishments. You can also explore Asheville, renowned as a vibrant and welcoming bohemian artist colony. Asheville is just a 20-minute drive and home to the closest major airport. No doubt, you will make memories to last a lifetime in this oh-so-historic lodging. OTHER DETAILS TO NOTE: There are 2 dedicated parking spaces directly behind the building. There is no elevator. Guests should be comfortable walking upstairs to the 3rd floor using the wide historic staircase. The building contains professional offices on the second floor, which you will pass on your way up the stairs. We greatly appreciate your care in being quiet and respectful to people using these spaces. This lovely loft is in a downtown location. As such, there may be typical noises associated with any downtown, such as people and traffic passing by.

We have stayed outside of Brevard a few times but this was our first time staying in town. I'm glad we chose this property for our latest trip. It was a great place to explore from. It's close to bakeries in the morning and ice cream at night. The dining table made a perfect boardgame table for us every evening after a day of exploring the waterfalls. It was a great place for our family trip to the mountains.

Sister’s Summer Trip ‘24 is now a beautiful memory. This property was perfectly located in downtown Brevard. We could walk to all of the local restaurants and shops easily. The penthouse was very lovely and welcoming at the end of a fun day. It’s beautiful and we couldn’t have found more charming and comfortable accommodations.

Just a phenomenal place in downtown. So much character. So much warmth. So spacious. This stay was a treat for me to visit a dear friend while I was rerouted, stuck in bad weather and mechanical plane issues. I was so delighted to enter this space and truly relax in the splendor visible from every window. My host Allison was incredibly responsive. I decided to leave a day early because of a break in the weather before the next storm. She was so kind to check the weather and tell me it was improving and invite me to go ahead and complete my stay. Regretfully, I had already left for the airport. But... I am looking at my calendar and trying to reply plan a return visit. And I know exactly where I'll stay. Thank you Alison.

The Loft is beautiful and met all our needs. We enjoyed our stay ther and loved being right downtown. But after our stay and discussing things with the host and how the property was left, I would suggest not having children stay there. I have back issues, and the king size mattress was very nice and comfortable. I would suggest not eating in the bedroom as the host is very picky about her shag rug and other items. The piano is pretty but in need of tuning badly. I am a pianist and was excited to see a piano as an amenity. I did play a few pieces, but there were keys that were stuck, and it was definitely flat sounding. Don't use the toaster oven and oven at the same time. It will trip the breaker. This was not told to us and alas we tripped it. Thankfully with where the breaker box was, it was an easy fix. Do not pick up or mess with any of the skeleton keys you may see. This will upset the host and you're liable to be accused of getting in a space that was off limits. Do not move the floor lamp in the living room. Do not eat in the living room. Eat at the bar or table provided. The host is picky about her furniture. The murphy bed is comfortable but getting in it is tricky as it moves with you. Lightly get into it and make sure you don't scratch the paint. Because this place is filled with vintage and possibly antiques, again, I would suggest not bringing children to stay. Host is very picky.

I cannot say enough about this wonderful loft and the great location. The pictures do not do it justice at all. You are in the heart of Brevard and within walking distance to all of the amazing restaurants and shops. The host was very quick to respond and all the information given was easy to follow and very helpful. I have already recommended this location to several friends and family and my husband and I look forward to staying again in the future.
