Overall, the property was ok, but the booking process was a bit of a mess and that carried through to the entire stay. First off, we wanted to stay at the Westgate lakes property which was 10 minutes from the Universal property as we had a conference to attend there. Online it was available and we booked it. We were immediately given a confirmation number but a few days later, the booking agent reached out and said the property was now full and we had no place to stay. This was pretty frustrating as we were days away from leaving and without a place. The agent was helpful enough in giving alternative options and we ended up at the Westgate Villas complex. Unfortunately, our 10 minute commute was now 40-60 minute commute, but we decided to go with it. We got to the property late (9 pm) on a Sunday night. The entry to the property was a traffic NIGHTMARE. It took us 45 minutes to get from the main road, through the entry gate and then to the checkin desk. Please believe other reviews when they say this is a timeshare. Though you can book through VRBO or like you were staying at a hotel, they will not release your room key until they attempt to give you the sales pitch for ownership. Once we politely declined multiple times, we finally got to our condo. They are updated on the inside and are very nice. Beds are good quality, linens were clean, etc. Kitchen had enough plates and dishes to get you by and Walmart was right across the street if you needed anything else (though, you had to deal with the main entrance and the traffic so it wasn’t a quick trip). The property itself is nice enough. Plenty of things to entertain your family (pools, mini golf, paddle boats, etc) but the property isn’t exactly setup for “wheeled” transportation. We have 2 kids, 4 and younger, so using a stroller or a portable wagon is a must. Many of the sidewalks lead directly to stairs which makes walking on the main roadways a must at times. More of an inconvenience more than anything, but still worth noting. The property has its fair share of dining options as well. In all reality, it is a pretty self sufficient community. You really have just about everything you need there, so that was a nice aspect. Our family spent a day at Disney and this property location was very convenient for that. Basically 10 minutes to animal kingdom and the other parks. Overall, a decent place, but a time share, so be prepared for everything that comes with that.

The room was spacious and clean. We were in town for a wedding so didn’t use many amenities. The sports bar and grill was very good and the service was great. However, I’m not sure that we would stay again due to the check in process. It’s like waiting in an amusement park line. I understand this is a huge resort and they are trying to sell timeshares, however we were not there for any special offer so did not have to agree to their presentation. They still tried to convince us to do the tour and although they were nice it just took too much of our time. Also the woman we checked in with told us we were on the 5th floor, but we were actually on the 3rd floor so it took awhile to find our room. We ran into other guests who were also told the wrong floor. Overall it’s a very nice resort. We had a pool view and it was a little loud late at night, but the pool never looked very crowded and the noise didn’t bother us. If you have time and patience to go through the check in process I would recommend. Also there is a mini grocery store with just about anything you would need, but of course it’s pricey.

We loved that there was a lot to do at this property. The pools were great!

Too crowded, too many units, too many people

Location of unit was perfect for our family. Second floor unit overlooking main pool, close to main building / shuttle and restaurants. We would definitely come back.
