Host Info
Your host runs Bark Point Ventures, a vacation rental management & concierge company that specializes in properties all along Lake Superior's South Shore. We live nearby and are available whenever needed to assist our guests. Our passion is ensuring guests experience the magic of what we feel is one of the most amazing places in the world.

Neighborhood Info
Located on the beach right in downtown Bayfield. You can walk to a wide range of locally-owned shops, restaurants, galleries, and museums. And yet the condo is set far enough away from the main drag to not feel like you're too in the middle of everything.

Location & Transit Info
Bayfield is a very walkable city, so your best bet is on foot. We are just a couple blocks from all the shops and restaurants in downtown Bayfield.

Off street parking in lot for one car. Plenty of street parking available, except during Applefest weekend in October. Less than 15 minute drive to Mt. Ashwabay ski hill, Big Top Chautauqua, hiking trails, beaches, and more.

Public transportation on the peninsula is provided by the Bay Area Rural Transit (BART), more information can be found on their website.

An EV charging station is located in the parking lot on the corner of Washington Ave. and E. 6th St. in Washburn.

The following shuttles and ferries are also accessible on foot from Reiten Boatyard:

- The Madeline Island Ferry will take you out to Madeline Island and runs regularly during the late spring, summer, fall, and much of the winter.
- The BART Bus runs regularly from through Bayfield and around Chequamegon Bay for a modest fee.
- Big Top Chautauqua runs shuttles for most of for their concerts and events.

Details of the Space
This main floor 1 bedroom unit features an open plan kitchen-dining-living space that opens up to your own private balcony overlooking the lake (perfect for morning coffee or evening cocktails). The living and dining area has a comfy couch and table seating for 4 - both situated to enjoy views of the lake during the day and tv or a movie at night. The kitchen is recently renovated with glass-top stove with oven, apartment-sized fridge, microwave, toaster, and a coffee maker. This unit feels modern and cozy, thanks to the updated fixtures and thoughtfully laid out furnishings. Please note the living room fireplace is a non working fireplace and cannot be used. It is ornamental only.

The condo is located an easy walk to Bayfield's myriad charming shops & restaurants as well as the ferry to Madeline Island. It's also a perfect jumping off point to all of the incredible things to see & do throughout the greater Chequamegon Bay area.

One of our favorite features is the wonderful community garden that is adjacent to the condo building. There's few better places in the warmer months to enjoy a book or just take in the gorgeous flowers & plants in this secret garden setting.

The unit also features a rarity in the area: air conditioning, as well as high-speed wifi and cable tv.

location is good. sunrise views priceless. really like the open floor plan. walkable to a lot of things to do. Shower drain ran slow if the mgmt did not know. 2 big windows by the table were not locked when we arrived; they were closed, but latches not pulled down to lock. maybe add a few more spices including salt/ppr. Owners/guests pay a lot for cleaners to come in. The cleaners need to be sure they are using a Swiffer or do dusting under the furniture and in all corners. we saw several dust bunnies in the corners of condo. be sure to vacuum all cloth furniture.

Location was great. Walkable to Bayfield attractions. Place was very clean. We appreciated that. Condo seemed to be freshly updated included fresh paint. It was perfect for two adults. Stayed there with my daughter. She took the pull out sofa. Worked great.

Nice location and small patio for 4 with a view of a public beach and the fishery. Overall a nice small condo and loved being near a marina to see all the boats. Worked well for 2 people

We had a wonderful time in the area, and the rental was our home base for exploration of both Bayfield and its surrounding trails and places, as well as the Apostle Islands. My dad stayed in the room, while I was on the pull-out couch. Loved the deck looking out on the lake!It was a short walk to both the dock for our Apostle Islands Grand Tour on the first day, as well as our ferry to Madeline Island the second day. Lots of restaurants and shops are within easy walking distance, too.The most pleasant surprise was the nearby Halvor Reiten park, with its sculptures, boats, and walkway around the pond and gardens. We also strolled the Brownstone Trail. Great communication with the rental team, as well, and grace when there was an issue with the credit card used for payment. Thanks for the opportunity to enjoy your place while we were in Bayfield!

We have been coming to Applefest for almost 40 years and have stayed at the Reiten Boatyard the majority of the time. It is a great location with easy access and hosts have always been cordial and accomodating.

The location is on the edge of town but our first floor view got a partial water view and the other part is the boatyard gravel parking area. The general condo has seen some updates. They responded quickly when we texted saying the patio doorknob didn’t open. The knob looked new, but ultimately we ended up locking the screen door instead. I have a few suggestions: change the shower curtain liner, it’s gross. The faucet handle in the shower is loose and barely works. The fleece blanket has holes and is worn out. Easy $25 fix. That blanket was too short for the bed. The front closet doesn’t shut properly. Why not include a box of Kleenex?

Right on the water, beautiful views of boats, the lake, and Madeline Island. Cozy lodging - and very walkable to anything in Bayfield. We loved our stay. Erin was a wonderful host - she even brought us beautiful flowers for our anniversary!

All was fine just the right size for a couple. I would suggest having more kitchen towels available and replace the dish drying rack.

This was the perfect condo for our long weekend getaway. The pictures accurately portray the size, furnishings, and location. It was a nice size with all of the amenities you would need. We only cooked a few meals in the condo, but it was stocked with all of the utensils we needed. It was also extremely clean and had a nice homey feel. The best part was that it was a short walk to most of the restaurants and the cruise/ferry. I highly recommend it!

Comfortable, within walking distance to shops and the pier, yet away from the downtown activity. For over 25 years we have been enjoying our getaway to the Bayfield/Washburn area. The Reiten Boatyard condos are a perfect place to unwind for a few days.

The property was just OK. Three windows were not working so had to call management. The door from unit to deck was hard to lock/unlock and open and close. These items are expensive to replace but are basic to a good property. Who wants air conditioning when you can get a nice cool breeze off the lake through open windows? Deck needed cleaning. The unit was pretty well stocked and clean inside. It suited our needs for size. Some nice improvements in the kitchen and bath. Management was very responsive. I would work with this management company again but would probably look for a different rental.
