1206 Crown Jewel Beachfront Retreat

We are from the DFW area and have been returning to this property for many years. So, I think that says it all. This place is very well maintained and has a lot of rules & conditions which keep it nice and enjoyable. Even tho a short drive to the West Beach area, it lacks the chaos and commercialism found there and leans more towards peace and relaxation and not having to cross heavy traffic to access the beach. We hope to return again.

Only thing we saw were roaches. i guess that can't be helped since that unit is next to the trash Shute. Over all it was a wonderful weekend.

Reviewer Comments: The Galvestonian is in a great resort in a wonderful location and this unit should have five stars, with a large balcony and updated kitchen and bathroom. But we were very disappointed to see a dirty sofa and stained balcony chair cushions. Given that the owner hasn’t added the dining table place mats suggested in a prior review I’m not sure these issues will be addressed.

Always great to stay at the Galvestonian but some units have a larger, deeper balcony that facilitates lounging, as does this one. The weather was perfect, the view was perfect, the balcony chairs were comfortable. All good. A quiet, relaxing weekend.

Lovely updates minimalist unit. 3 balconies; however the biggest one, which is our favorite because it’s deep and has shade was blocked as netting on rail was being replaced and not finished. It is such a comfortable unit. The shades on all the windows are great and easy to operate. Would rent again.

This was the third time we stayed in this unit and we have been staying at the Galvestonian since 1986. The main outdoor patio was closed off and it is where we have so many memories of coffee in the morning, board game playing and enjoying the gulf air. Also, there were multiple leaks in the ceiling and the ice maker did not work. We had to go downstairs, get a key and go into a dark room to get ice. We were very disappointed with the entire experience.

The condo has two wonderful balconies to view the gulf and the pelicans that fly by! It has always been super clean with all the amenities. It is so close to the strand and historic part of Galveston. Perfect for exploring. The beach is wonderful with many shore birds and shells. A great getaway.

We were dismayed by the lack of access to do the beach...after traveling...Unusual for a 12 story facility. Service desk staff was marginally helpful, a bit stand-offish.
