Things got off to a bad start. First, door code was wrong. Other reviews mention this. There is ABSOLUTELY NO EXCUSE for this. This unit makes a good impression on entering However, one soon senses that this unit is not being maintained and that everything is being done on the cheap Next: 2 out of 3 TV remotes were being held together with duct tape. Really? The third one only partially worked. Texted owners asking for new remotes. Their first suggestion was to operate the TVs with the controls on the side. Really? After some discussion they did deliver new universal remotes the next day The unit was renovated maybe 10? years ago. But maintenance seems lacking The good: A/C & fridge work well Good water pressure & hot water Nice vinyl flooring Mattresses were comfortable ( but not the cheapo polyester sheets * ) * Owner agreed to pay for cotton sheets which we bought at Walmart. The unnecessarily bad: One hair dryer was broken Owner relies on hotel internet which ranges from fair to poor Fix: Owner should pay $50/month for dedicated internet Balcony door lock is broken off; have to twist with fingers Balcony door does not operate easily Bath towels are worn out and rough No clothes hooks in bathroom No toilet paper holder in left bathroom. There used to be one but it was never repaired Mold in shower knob Broken lamp switch in floor lamp Most light bulbs are low wattage and dim. Sconce light missing bulb Dirty windows - All of these obvious minor issues could be easily addressed for little money Unnecessary kitchen issues: Dishwasher rack is missing a wheel which makes it difficult to slide in and out No blender, no dish towels (soap and sponge supplied) Only one fork in the drawer. (After texting, the owner provided half metal/plastic set of utensils) Coffee maker is not the one shown in the pictures. Had to jury rig old drip coffee maker and use sauce pan for carafe No pitcher for ice tea etc Other issues: Constant helicopter flights over the hotel Walls are thin; can hear all Final opinions: A guest is left with the opinion that this owner is only interested in the income and NOT in providing a high quality experience for longer term guests. Unit might be acceptable if visitor plans to stay one or two nights and not spend much time in the room and eat out. It is not suitable for long term stays. Does not meet standards of other VRBO properties that we have rented
The positives: the location is just a 7 minute drive from Universal Studios. We had a car and it was easy to park and grocery stores, restaurants within a 15 minute radius (or less). The apartment itself needs some attention. It does show signs of wear and tear, the wifi is not powerful and the communication with the owners wasn't the best via the app. I would recommend that you call the owners to ensure you have the correct entry code to the apartment and call Enclave to ensure the indoor pool/gym are available (there were closed, which we weren't informed of). I would also ask the owners to ensure the soap dispensers are filled in the bathrooms (ours were empty or near empty). There were enough towels, but we did need bathmats. The owners did their best to resolve issues and once I got them on the phone I was treated well and I was given half my money back for my issues. I loved the location, it was quiet, I felt safe, but be aware that it is simple and not meant for basic functionality, not luxury. I would definately not have more than 4 people staying here total (we were two adults and a child). The space is just too small in my opinion. During my stay I had a lot of little issues that first I ignored, because well, stuff happens in apartments and you can handle a few things. I started to get frustrated when I discovered someone had entered the apartment to drop off paper towels but no one informed me in advance they were coming nor did they follow up after to let me know they were there. Everything I was dissatisfied with the experience I was able to communicate with the owner over the phone (which I would recommend over the app communication). They fixed many of the issues (repaired the deadbolt, fixed the kitchen sink, snaked the tub, fixed a toilet seat, provided paper towels, soap). I just hadn't expected to face so many little issues. In the end this is a nice family who is taking care of the property, I would recommend calling them if you have any challenges/questions and enjoy the proximity to the parks and the quiet!
Upon our arrival the first thing we noticed was the musty smell of the building. Once inside the unit it only got worse. Broken security lock (looked like the door had been kicked in), busted toilet seat, mold in both bedrooms, buckled flooring, and tiny bugs flying around. GROSS is all I can say! I did notify the owner and he said he would send somebody out, but after about 2 hours. I called VRBO. Thank goodness VRBO was able to relocate us to a safer and cleaner location.
The host promised to refund 1.5 days for the inconvenience of having to find a hotel since the door code given was wrong, but after 15 days with $0 refunded I'm giving lowest review possible. There was NO water pressure in the kitchen at all, with barely enough water trickle to wet a napkin. There was absolutely NO hot water in 1 bathroom and the other bathroom that was Handicap (reasoning for booking since my mom requires a walker) the water from the shower puddles under the door into the bathroom floor making it a slip hazard. There were only 4 towels available for a 5 night stay for a family of 4. No remote for the TV in the living room at all. One bedroom TV remote was completely broken, taped with scotch tape, but no battery to operate. The remote for the other bedroom was duct taped together but it did have batteries. After getting into our room 1 day later than booked and after 5pm on the 2nd day of our stay, the wifi password was wrong too. We finally received the wifi password on Day 3 of our stay. I do NOT recommend staying at this property as the HOST is impossible to reach and did not respond to my many chats along with many text messages sent. It took a conference call with VRBO to actually get a response to even get into the condo.
