The host was extremely communicative. This was one of the most peaceful, breathtaking places you could go to in the US. The lake is crystal clear and all you hear are the sounds of birds and nature. 20/10

The cabin was exactly what we needed. Close to Boone, close to the slopes but tucked nicely on the lake. We enjoyed the fire pit, some boat dock fishing and a little game night. What a great Christmas weekend!

It was nice and quiet with great views

The house and surrounding area was so peaceful! We thoroughly enjoyed taking the canoe out on the lake and exploring. We plan to book a long weekend in the summer when the water is warm enough to swim in!

The Lakefront Chalet was the perfect spot for a Thanksgiving trip with our college kids. Quiet, secluded, and cozy. We enjoyed many walks on the main road. The owners are great! They made sure every need was met from a fully stocked kitchen, a clean home, detailed directions to activies, and quick to reply to questions. We hope to be back in the summer to enjoy the water.

The host was friendly ,open and easy to communicate with.She seems like the kind of person you wouldn't mind getting to know. The setting of the house is beautiful!!The house needs some work though.Maybe a new dishwasher, oven,a shower head that doesn't get the floor all wet ...... pretty much like here at home.Even with the rain all week we couldnt help but feel so blessed.

Beautiful mountain v and Lake views

The place was super clean. We loved having access to the lake. I used it to fish the cove a bit. We didn't use the watercraft at all but they were very conveniently located. We really enjoyed the fire pit in the fall weather. The karaoke machine is also a ton of fun!

House is named appropriately, private and relaxing. The private dock is spacious, we sat there and watched deer cross the property in the evening.

Everything was as described or better. View was excellent. Dock and canoe were exactly what we needed. Had a great time.

Everything was as described. Beautiful views, beautiful house. All of your needs were met and more. We didnt have any issues, but I know if we did, Karen wouldve been rigjt there for us. Those stairs are no joke, though. If youre in shape, you wont have any issues. If youre older and not in shape, those stairs will kick your butt, lol. We very much enjoyed our stay and exploring the area around.

We LOVE this chalet! We have visited here multiple times and always have the most relaxing time. The home is clean and welcoming. The kitchen is well-stocked with most utensils/kitchenware that you would ever need. Finishing the day by the firepit with the peepers and crickets singing is just about perfect! This is a truly wonderful place to rest and recharge! We will be back!

First, the host was amazing. Clear driving and check in instructions. Had a few questions and she was very responsive via VRBO messaging and text. It rained the first few days, but we enjoyed the house- reading, playing cards, and enjoying the view. The dock was great for hanging and jumping in the water. Boat launch easy to find and use. Great stay!

Cabin on the lake. Its truly heaven on earth.

Overall our stay was very enjoyable. Maybe time for some spring cleaning and bug extermination. Had several water bugs and spiders inside to which we had a good laugh when a water bug dive-bombed the bed and hit my husband in the head.

Lovely lakeside cabin with beautiful views and lakeside access. It was hard to find-better directions would help. The beds weren’t very comfortable and the listing mentions a hot tub, but it’s really a jetted tub in the bathroom. Some shoreline litter too. We still enjoyed our stay but guests should know what to expect.

Our stay was during the middle of the week and we had the lake to ourselves. The cabin is remote with no major roads or traffic noise, but other cabins nearby. It was a perfect relaxing getaway.

Stayed as a gift for my 65th birthday. It was wonderful and it snowed the second day we absolutely love the area and can't wait to stay again

If you're looking to escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, look no further. The Lake Hideaway Chalet is the place to be. A cozy A-frame home nestled in the hillside, secluded from the outside world with a beautiful view of the Watauga Lake. The LHC has all the amenities you need, including kayaks and canoe. An ample deck provides a beautiful spot to gather and enjoy the scenery. Our week stay at the end of February was a wonderful way to rest, relax and recharge.

We had such a great time! The chalet looks exactly like what you think it will based on the pics. The absolute silence was so relaxing and the trip overall lead to some amazing family memories for the kids. Definately planning a return during the summer months!

I love every second that we stayed here. Everything checks our ideal vacation. Quiet, secluded w/ a beautiful view. Our older dog is non aggressive reactive so every year I try to find us a secluded place where he could enjoy too. This is definitely the top of the most beautiful place we’ve ever stay. Made my birthday/ family trip extra special. Ms Karen was a great host! Will definitely stay here again..

This property checks all the boxes for my family. Right on the lake, private dock with kayaks, canoe, PFDs. Great fire pit area and gas grill. It was heavenly.
