Scenic Tunnel of Trees Chalet w/ Private Beach on Lake Michigan - Harbor Springs

Scandinavian-inspired A-frame tucked along the iconic Tunnel of Trees Scenic Route with secluded beach access to Lake Michigan via our private staircase down the bluff (approximately 150 steps).

The Cedar Chalet is a peaceful Northern Michigan escape designed for slow mornings, sunset swims, and cozy evenings surrounded by cedars.

Just 10-15 minutes from Harbor Springs, Pond Hill, The Highlands Ski Resort, and Nubs Nob. It’s the perfect home base for lake days, scenic drives, farm & market visits, ski days, and quiet cabin living.

The Cedar Chalet features 3 bedrooms and two full baths while comfortably sleeping up to 6-8 guests.

King Bedroom - Located on the second floor with double doors that open up to the loft.

Queen Bedroom - Located on the first floor with a private full bath and picture frame tv.

Full Bedroom - Located on the first floor. Perfect for kids.

The loft offers a quiet, flexible space with a desk for writing or remote work, an additional sofa bed, and a collection of games and puzzles for slow afternoons.

We use high-quality Parachute linens to create a soft, comfortable sleep experience, and provide organic coffee to start your mornings slowly. Large windows throughout bring in natural light and connect every space back to the surrounding trees.

The home is designed to feel both beautiful and lived-in—comfortable for families, with a refined, boutique feel.

The Cedar Chalet sits within a natural bluffside landscape, which is part of what makes it so special—but it also means conditions can shift with weather and seasons.

A few things to keep in mind:

• Our beach access is seasonal for the safety of our guests — Open only from May-October. During winter months, you can still however enjoy sunsets over the lake from atop of the bluff.

• The staircase and bluff area require care, especially with children. It’s a 3-minute walk from the chalet down the stairs to the beach, but I do like to mention there are quite a few steps- about 150 steps roughly. Going down is easy and scenic, while coming back up is a bit more of a workout. There are areas to stop and take a break though. We offer a backpack cooler and totes to bring all you need for a day at the beach.

• Paddle boards and surf boards are available for guest use down at the beach deck.

To ensure everyone’s safety and clarity around use of the property and equipment, a waiver must be signed prior to check-in.
