I have stayed at the Chalet several times and each time is wonderful. I love this property and Carole is an amazing and accommodating host. Couldn't ask for a better experience!
My husband and I spent the weekend here with our dogs in October. The fall colors around the lake were unparalleled. Kitchen was stocked, bed was comfy, plenty of room for the dogs to run. We walked through the forest to the other lake and watched bald eagles. Deer came to visit in the evening. Nice quiet and relaxing stay.
We enjoyed a chilly fall extended weekend. Chalet is well planned and functional, plugs and lights where you want them, etc. We were delighted to find we could leave our cotton thermal blankets in their bag, since the hosts have them on the beds. I enjoyed cooking in the well supplied kitchen. Hubbie worked a bit, internet slows down a lot on the weekend (like most places up north), so watching shows that I downloaded early in the morning through my phone’s hot spot worked quite well. A wonderful get away.
Quiet, Peaceful stay on the edge of a beautiful little lake. Area is a hiker's paradise inhabited with loads of wildlife. House was like home and Carole was accomodating without being intrusive. Great House, Great Location, Great Time.
Our weekend stay here was too short! This very private spot, surrounded by woods with a small lake for paddling was perfect for relaxing on the large deck and watching the dogs run and play. The house had everything we needed and Carole was very accessible for questions. We hope to be able to return some day!
We had a wonderful week stay at the Chalet. Carol was a gracious host and immediately responded to any questions. We made use of the lake for floating and fishing; catching bluegills and sunfish on every outing. The home was well equipped with everything we needed and the peaceful location was everything we could have wanted. We will definitely be back.
This property was excellent: secluded, spacious, upscale, and relaxing.
The home was quite away off the road and so quiet you could talk to the boys across the lake fishing from the dock! The road off the driveway was an ORV trail so it was perfect to leave the house and hit the ATV trails that surround the area! Will definitely be back.
This is our second time staying at this property. We enjoyed our stay last year and decided to book another stay this year. Chalet is located in a peaceful setting and location is great for day trips to nearby towns. We will be back again next year. Thank you Carole!
Overall it was a very nice place. The lake was very nice and I enjoyed walking through the woods with my dogs. I deducted one star because the landscaping was neglected and overgrown. What once appeared to be flower beds were overgrown with grass and weeds, as were the beds that were around a couple of the trees. Shrubs outside the kitchen and dining area were overgrown and distracted from the view of the woods. Interior was nice, but the exterior landscaping around the house gave the property a somewhat abandoned feeling.
We loved this property and the host. Carol made sure we got checked in and our needs were met.
A nice cozy cabin on a lake in the middle of the woods. Our family enjoyed the location close to everything, hiking trails and waking up to the lake each morning.
This is the 3rd time I have stayed at the Chalet. Carole is always great to work with and the property is amazing. Tucked away in the woods the Chalet offers seclusion but is close to everything we wanted to do.
Quiet & secluded. Able to have an outside fire and enjoy the outside even in late November. Inside fire was beautiful also. Played games watched football and close to stores for anything we needed. Well supplied with everything we needed to cook with and serve.
My family and I enjoyed this trip to this property very much. From the cozy fire in the beautiful fireplace, to walking through the woods with October’s brilliant fall colors, to sitting on the dock by the lake, we had a awesome relaxing weekend. This was our second time at this location and we plan to return again. Highly recommend..
We loved our trip with Carole. She checked in with us a couple times just to make sure we had everything we needed. The property exceeded all expectations. The pictures don’t do the place justice. We hope to come back and stay again!
Loved the area and seclusion. Difficult to locate property more signage is definitely needed. The description on the site is a little miss leading. I was under the impression the property was on Fife lake which it was not. Amenities in kitchen were nice. Appliances were new and worked well and kitchen was well stocked. Fireplace was exceptional. The cabin was well maintained except for the floors they were very dirty. All in all a very nice get away.
We decided to book a well overdue kid-free weekend and settled on Traverse City area. The cabin was exactly what we needed. Nestled in the woods, surrounded by natures beauty. The chairs on the dock were perfect for a peaceful morning and enjoying coffee. We did travel into town to enjoy dinner at Trattoria Stella (100% recommend) which was about a 40 min drive. I imagine the view from the dock would be breathtaking in early fall. Looking forward to checking that out one year.
We had a lovely time at this tranquil property located on a lovely lake. It was clean & well equipped. The property owner Carole Loftus was so helpful & available if needed. We hope to return to this property again!
Some of us stayed on the property and enjoyed the lakes, the kayaks, the resident Heron and Trumpeter Swans. The jumping fish, the stars, the Beaver Dam, the quiet. Others went swimming at Traverse City Beach a mere 20 minutes drive, looked for Petosky Stones at Elk Rapids, Played pickle all at the TC YMCA and ate Moomers Ice cream. All of us agreed the place was perfect. Coffee on the deck? Check Grilling in the evenings? Check Puzzles in the sunroom? Check Swimming and Fishing? Check Small dogs? Check Great hostess? Check
This was the best family vacation we’ve ever taken!
Loved the privacy and quietness. Great location with proximity to Fife Lake and Traverse City.
Great escape from the craziness of life for our family! We would love to come back again. Carole was great to work with.
This property was lovely and peaceful. Carole was terrific to work with and made us feel at home. We will be back to stay again!
Nice home in a clearing of the woods, with a small lake just steps away. No luck catching any fish for us though lol. There are a few local restaurants & TC or Elk Rapids are 30 minute drive away for more dining options. House was spacious and clean. Only drawback was the water- loaded with iron and undrinkable in our opinion. We bought many gallons of water for drinking, making coffee, cooking. The owner Carole was amazing and very responsive to our texts.
