The chalet is a wonderful place to stay. It is secluded enough to be around nature. It is conveniently located around some scenic spots . The home has many amenities that you will need to make sure you stay as comfortable. The hot tub is amazing and has wonderful view. It’s a very relaxing and comfortable home. The host was wonderful from the very beginning before our stay and through our stay. He was responsive to any questions I had and was very helpful. He also provided an orientation document ahead of time which was very helpful to help get me up to speed on the property. If you’re in the Davis, West Virginia area this a wonderful property to stay at. I would highly recommend this property and will definitely stay there when we return to West Virginia in the future.

This vrbo has everything you need to be comfortable. And the owner decorates with the most interesting items from around the world. Wish we could have stayed longer.

This is such a beautiful clean home with everything you need stocked in the kitchen and bathrooms. New gas grill and hot tub on the porch and great views and privacy.

We had the most amazing stay at this beautiful cabin. The views are amazing, the peacefulness is great and we had everything that we needed. James is a great host. He verified that we arrived safely & that everything was as expected. After that he told us to contact him if we had any issues (which we didn't) & then went on to respect out privacy. I highly recommend!

Our stay was very relaxing, and the house is tucked away in the woods and had everything we needed. We had a cozy stay and were visited by lots of animals including a few deer, a groundhog, and a number of hummingbirds. The fireplace and hot tub were used frequently and we got some beautiful sunsets. The house is located incredibly close to Dolly Sods were we went on a hike, and we were just a short drive to Davis and Thomas where we got some good food at Ish Kitchen and saw some live music at the Purple Fiddle. Blackwater Falls State Park is close by, and we spent some time there as well. Plenty to do nearby, and the house provided a good home base and relaxation station. Brand new Weber grill and a nice large deck to hang out and watch for critters. Hosts were prompt with getting fresh chlorine tablets into the hot tub as well. We really enjoyed the stay.

The most important things we wanted in our chalet was a dog friendly, king bed, wood burning fireplace, a hot tub and a great view. This property hit it out of the park! I would highly recommend it, and would come back.

This was our second stay at Jim’s house. The location and views from the hot tub can’t be beat. The house is very clean, comfortable, and well stocked. I’m sure we’ll be back for a third stay soon!

The hot tub was perfect and was thrilled there was a large stock of fire wood suppled. very quaint and quiet place tucked away in the woods. Loved it.

We stayed for a long weekend to go skiing at timberline resort. The location was perfect and the house was clean and comfortable! The hot tub and wood burning fire place was a plus after a day of skiing! Highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in this area.

Jim was an amazing host! We had a wonderful 5 day stay in a beautiful home that’s packed with so many extras. The location is great if you’re looking for a nice quiet getaway. Beds were more comfortable then our own and the kitchen was top of the line! The fireplace and hot tub were so relaxing. We will definitely be staying there again for sure.

This place was beautiful the kitchen had everything we needed. I would just suggest a little bit more light or brighter light i could barley see when i was cooking it was too dark (we cooked around 7ish) The grill wasn’t really cleaned when we got there but it worked fine. The environment was beautiful and peaceful. I would definitely come back. If you sleep upstairs I would suggest take a thick blanket or a heater it was really cold upstairs despite bringing the temp up! The hot tub was amazing & clean. Everything else perfect & beautiful.

This was a perfect place for our family of 4 (and dog!). The house was very comfortable with great views of the mountains. We appreciated the quiet location and easy access to Dolly Sods. We enjoyed all of the amenities to enjoy the indoor and outdoor spaces: fire pit, corn hole, fireplace, foosball , darts, and hot tub!

We really loved our time here. The hot tub and view were spectacular, and the kitchen had more than we would have needed. The rooms were comfortable, and the host was very responsive and helpful to offer suggestions for things to do. The property felt very private, and was part of a very quiet community. There’s plenty of wood outside by the fire pit for great fires in the evening as you enjoy the sunset after a day of hiking. Overall, I’d happily decide to stay there again.

We stayed 4 nights at Jim's wonderful property! It was secluded which we loved, we saw many many deer, a turkey and some Canadian Geese! The home is filled with so many historical items that were so interesting to see. The kitchen was amazing, great appliances, the pots & pans were great, which isn't always the case at a cabin in our experience. Jim was very responsive to any questions or concerns! We had an absolutely amazing stay and will definitely go again! The cabin is close proximity to all the nearby attractions which is always a plus!

Check in went very smoothly. Communication with owner was excellent. The chalet was everything as described and more. Would definitely stay again!

Two couples for a few days in Davis and a great stay at a fantastic property! The space was perfect for the four of us. We cooked most meals in and the kitchen was well equipped. We also enjoyed sitting on the deck for cocktails and using the hot tub when the weather was cooler. The fireplace inside made for cozy movie watching nights. You can tell a lot of care has gone into this property and we appreciated staying there. Would highly recommend!!

This home has everything you need. Situated in a peaceful neighborhood with great views of the Canaan Valley. Dolly Sods can be access from the property as well. Perfect place to escape the everyday routine!

This rental exceeded my expectations as it was well appointed with eclectic decorations from around the world, high-end cookware in a fully stocked kitchen, exceptionally comfortable beds, 4K TV and sound system, and breathtaking views. We visited over MLK weekend when a snow storm was expected. The driveway was plowed twice (AWD or 4WD vehicles are necessary); the teenagers loved the hot tub and it was convenient to everything we wanted to do. I loved Jim’s maximalist decorating style as there was many fascinating things at which to marvel. Overall, we have zero negative comments as again, this exceeded our expectations. Thank you, Jim!

Make sure you have 4 wheel drive if you plan to stay during Winter! The drive up to the house with snow is legit! Excellent spot if you want a more private escape but to also be close to Timberline, White Grass and the towns of Davis and Thomas. House backed up to Dolly Sods Wilderness Area so would also be ideal for hiking in the warmer months.Plenty if cookware and the amenities were all as described and in working order.

We rented looking for a snowy cabin weekend , which is exactly what we got. The location was perfect. Hot tub was awesome. The house itself was eclectically decorated. Can't wait to go again.

Wonderful cabin - very clean and decorated beautifully. Also one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept on! Fully stocked with everything we needed and a gorgeous view as well. Nothing bad to say!

My husband and I had a lovely stay at Jim's place. We had our two dogs with us as well. The views were stunning as we were there in late November and it was already snowing. The fireplace made our entire stay very cozy. The kitchen was well stocked. We enjoyed going on walks and runs and visited the town of Davis and had a great time at Stumptown Ales. We will definitely visit again!

Had a such a great time at Jim's chalet. Location is amazing and the property had fantastic touches all throughout and was so comfortable. We loved watching movies on the incredible entertainment system and the kitchen had everything needed to make great meals at home. Communication with Jim is outstanding. Would love to stay again!!

It was peaceful and quiet, just what we needed for a weekend away without the kids. The decor was unique and gave the place an authentic and cozy feel. Wish the leaves hadn’t fallen already during our stay but the view was beautiful regardless. I highly recommend traveling a little further out of town for groceries, the local supermarket was pretty sad.

We have been visiting Canaan Valley most of our adult lives. Sometimes we stay in Davis, but most of the time we stay in the Timberline community. Jim’s property is awesome! So peaceful and accommodating. Everything you need and then some! One of the best VRBOs. If you have never been to the area Jim provides tons of great, helpful information. Thanks Jim!

Loved the large deck and hot tub for viewing the autumn leaves and relaxing after hiking in Dolly Sods! It was my favorite spot in this very comfortable home. Owner is super responsive.

We absolutely loved our stay. The cabin is so eclectic and we enjoyed looking at all the things from the owner’s travels. It was stocked with everything we needed to cook, including lots of spices. We so enjoyed the hot tub while it snowed. Truly magical! Owner was very responsive as well. We hope to be back someday.

This house was just as described online. It was private with an excellent view. The host was friendly and answered our messages within an hour or so. I will definitely rent from this gentleman again.

Our experience with our stay was absolutely wonderful, The property is cery well maintained and to be honest the pictures are great but if you have a opportunity to see it in person it will blow you away! There is a lot of treasures inside the home from the owners travels of the world and we both found it to be just incredible! The mountain ciews are to die for and if you like to hike this is the place to be 👏 I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a beautiful get away with peace in quiet.
