ACORN SHORES LAKE HOUSE
**April Dates 10% off, no codes needed!**
Come play on the Tiger Cat Flowage chain of Lakes this summer at the Acorn Shores Lake House. Enjoy beautiful sunsets and the warmth of a campfire while the kids roast marshmallows. Grab a pontoon from Hayward Power Sports or fish for panfish right from our dock, then slow down with an evening stroll or wonder at the stars on the deck. Cook indoors in the fully equipped kitchen or grill a meal on the charcoal grill/smoker. Keep cool with new central A/C.
Summer check-ins in July and August have a 5 night minimum.
*The bathrooms on the first floor have been newly renovated. The basement bathroom of the lake house has not been renovated, but is functional and a full bathroom.
RUNNERS/MOUNTAIN BIKERS:
Head out the door, down the peaceful lake road, and explore the nearby trails via the Gravel Pit Road trailhead/CAMBA MTN BIKE trail (.5 miles away) which leads to over 300 miles of mountain bike, ATV, and running trails.
FISHING INFO:
The navigable channel at the end of McClain Lake takes you to Upper Twin Lake, which is classified as class A musky waters, and is abundant with Musky, Perch, and Bluegill. Or fish right from our new dock for bass and panfish!
SWIMMING INFO:
While McClain is a great lake for fishing, it's mucky bottom isn't always ideal to those wishing to swim. Because of this, we provide a lily pad for our guests to attach to the end of the dock to enjoy swimming off of/on. Swimming is also great off a pontoon or from an island the next lake over.
BOATING INFO:
The nearest public boat landing is 4 minutes away by car. You are more than welcome to bring your own boat, but please keep in mind that McClain is a no wake lake. For full rec fun, the next lake over (Upper Twin) allows wakes between 11am-5pm every day and is accessible through the navigable channel at the top of McClain. Black Iron Grill is accessible via the lake for a delicious meal right from the boat! For pontoon rentals, we recommend Hayward Power Sports which is 4 minutes away. After your booking, we will email you a discount code for 10% off the rental.
ATV/UTV/SNOWMOBILERS: As per Round Lake township rules, no ATV/UTV/snowmobiles are allowed on town roads. However, trail access is a quick 4 minutes away by car via the CAMBA Mountain Bike Trailhead (formerly Gravel Pit Road Trailhead by Hayward Power Sports) and leads to over 300 miles of trails to explore. There is room for parking up to 2 trailers at the property, and maneuvering can be done with the use of our round-about.
PARKING/DRIVEWAY: In the summer months, we have parking for 6+ cars. In the winter, we have room for 5. There is one dedicated spot for the EV charger that is shared with the cottage next door. Please note that our driveway is quite steep and difficult to navigate in winter months, we HIGHLY recommend 4WD. Fortunately our property shares a round-a-bout with the next door neighbor and guests are able to use the neighbor's drive as it is a bit easier to navigate.
*Please note that this listing is for the Lake House ONLY and is part of the Acorn Shores resort, with some amenities being shared. Shared amenities include the EV charger, parking, canoe and the Lily Pad. The lake house has a private dock, grill, firepit, 2 kayaks and SUP.

We had a great vacation and everything about the property was exactly as advertised. Thank you!
Beautiful quiet place where everyone has their own soace.
Great house with everything you need. Clean and relaxing.
10 of us stayed at this property for a boys fishing trip. Cabin is in a great location, not too close to town, but close enough that it’s not a big deal to run in. Lake access is great. House layout and beds were great, although it did seem that some areas were still under construction. Not a big deal. Plenty of room to spread out and definitely enough room to sleep 10. One thing to keep in mind is that the neighboring cottage (part of the same “resort”), is literally right next door, as in maybe 20 feet. If another group is renting the cottage, you’ll have to share the dock, fire pit, and canoes/kayaks with them. We were lucky that the host was staying next door our weekend - if it had been another group that wanted dock/fire pit access, there definitely is not enough room on the dock to tie up two boats. We also followed the hosts suggestion and rented from Hayward Power Sports. Excellent service and experience. Fishing tips: we had the best luck on trolling crank baits for northern/bass in the connected lake, with some small hits on casting spinners on the home lake. Worms and jigs were great for sunfish and crappie as well. This property is accommodating for any type of stay you’d want to have, and the hosts are great with communication. If I’m in the area, I would certainly consider staying here again.
I loved our stay at acorn shores! My family and I vacationed here and everyone enjoyed themselves including our dogs. We enjoyed kayaking and canoeing on the lake. We also loved the outdoor fire and s’mores by the lake watching the sun set! The place was great and we were at one with nature. It was like a cabin in the middle of the woods only upgraded! The locals were so kind. You have to go eat at the Tavern! Great food and such kind people. We also enjoyed our pontoon and fishing boat rental with Hayward power sports! Definitely a great experience!
