New Listing! The “Looney Bin” Four Season Cozy Lakefront Cabin on Nelson Lake

Great care was taken to make this a welcoming home for guests. The little details like the s’mores basket did not go unnoticed. The owner met us at the property and spared no detail to make sure we had a spectacular stay. The home was clean, family friendly and best of all the lake views were incredible. What a great weekend we had. Such a lovely home with lovely owners. Would love to return and hope to do so next summer. Thank you Joe and Melanie!!

A great place on the lake with a lot of little touches and all the items needed for a great stay!

Great stay, perfect getaway trip to unplug and enjoy the outdoors. Loved the cabin and property, it was very clean and the owners had all the little things covered in the kitchen, bathrooms, etc that were so helpful. Nice large lake to cruise around in and take in all the views. The owners were so nice and helpful and made sure we had an enjoyable stay.

The property inside and out is even better than what the amazing photos depict! The layout of the bedrooms and common spaces allow guests to have individual space if desired. We enjoyed the seating in the living room with 21 recliners and a large couch. The air conditioning kept us plenty cool on humid hot dats. The kitchen was stocked generously with all that one would want for utensils and appliances, including a complimentary Welcome Smores kit. Having 2 bathrooms was a treat. We enjoyed using the complimentary Kayaks, the yard games, and fire pit while outside. We saw tons of wildlife, including a bald eagle which flew and landed right in the tree on the property. The owners were very welcoming answering questions promptly before, during and after our stay. We look forward to staying with them again!

Cottage was clean and welcoming

Another great Birkie weekend staying in a clean comfortable place. The location is great to easily get to Cable and Hayward for all the events and restaurants. There is also a restaurant walking distance away. Very nice for 3 adults or a family of 4.

The property owners have thought of everything you could possible need and so much more.

Spent most our time outside- large gas grill was amazing. Nice level yard for playing baggo and sitting around campfire was a plus. The house had eveything we needed. Host responded quickly to all our questions.

We really enjoyed ourselves around the fire pit, pontooning on the lake, eating great food around the area and relaxing. The Looney Bin was setup so perfectly! Everything we needed was right there for us.

We can’t say enough about the cabin and Melanie. Melanie met us when we arrived. Communication with Melanie was great.She showed us around. what a wonderful lady. The view to the lake is beautiful. The cabin was extremely nice. Decorations are so cute and nice. Kitchen was stocked with everything you will need. It was very very clean. Would recommend this to anyone who wanted a great place to stay. There was only one problem. The wheel chair didn’t fit well in the bathroom. We loved it and hope to go back again! The grand kids loved it. Thank you for the wonderful stay! Karen and family.

My family just spent 4 nights at the Looney Bin. The cabin was very clean and spacious for the 5 of us. During the heat of July the air conditioning was welcoming after a day fishing and tubing on Nelson Lake. We caught lots of Bluegills, Crappies and a Bass. The cabin was peaceful, private and well stocked with everything we needed. We were about 20 minutes from Hayward. Thank you Melanie and Joe for an amazing stay at the Looney Bin! The cabin was perfect for us!

House was clean, stocked with the essentials, and the hosts were easy to communicate with and responsive. This property has great frontage and while there are neighbors, you are not right on top of them like some of the other properties in the area. Would definitely recommend for families or friends.

The whole process from booking to staying was fantastic. Melanie and her husband were kind and showed us around the property. Everything was clean and as expected. We would definitely stay here again!

We loved our stay at the Looney Bin! The cabin was very clean and had all kinds of cute touches that make it feel like a cozy cabin. You could tell the hosts put time into making your stay as enjoyable as possible. We fished off the docks, went kayaking, enjoyed a campfires and bean bags (they had boards, kayaks, and so much more for us to use). The shore isn't sand but a large rock bottom which was really neat, kids enjoyed floating around in their tubes while taking a break from fishing. I have nothing negative to say about this place or the hosts - just a big thank you for sharing your cabin with us!
