Holocene is an updated vintage mountain chalet perched on a mountainside boasting a gorgeous view of Great North Mountain and Wolf Gap. Enjoy the outdoors on the wrap-around deck! The great room's huge windows and deck create a tree-top living space. Access to the chalet includes 10 steps down to the front deck and entry door from the driveway. Located within the Bryce Resort community, this chalet is about 1 mile from the Resort's main lodge and ski/bike lifts, and a 1.25 mile drive to the Basye Community Store.

Please review the listing photos carefully. Drone photos show proximity to the surrounding mountainside and valley. This vintage chalet has been updated with modern appliances and amenities while preserving its rustic mountain charm. It's a perfect home for families and small groups looking for a quiet location where nature provides endless entertainment.

FEATURES & AMENITIES:
The spacious great room includes a dining area and living room with a wood stove. Firewood is provided from late fall through early spring. Please note, however, that the wood stove produces significant heat!
The updated kitchen has classy modern wood cabinets, a grand brick cooking alcove, stainless appliances, and mesmerizing granite countertops. The kitchen is adjacent to the great room and dining area and includes basic cookware, tableware, appliances, and a basket-style drip coffee maker (filters provided, but please bring your favorite grind). The dining area seats five at the table and another four at the kitchen island. The main floor also includes the primary bedroom with a king bed, a well-appointed renovated full bath, and access to a wrap-around deck with Solo Stove fire pit and gas grill. The spacious loft looks overlooks the great room and through the huge windows into the tree tops. The loft has two bedrooms, each with a queen beds, and a full bath. Sleeps six comfortably.

The chalet is supplied with bedding (pillows, bedspreads, blankets), fresh bed linens, one towel set per max occupants, one travel-size bar soap per max occupants, two rolls toilet paper per bathroom, two dishwasher tabs, five trash bags, one bath trash bag per bathroom, one paper towel roll, one kitchen dish towel, one travel-size dish soap, and one scrubby pad. We encourage guests with large groups, or who are staying several nights, or who are heavy users of consumable supplies to bring extra supplies or purchase them at the local Basye Community Store.

The flat screen Smart TV allows guests to log into popular streaming apps, and high-speed 50+mbps WiFi internet is sufficient for working, streaming, and gaming. There's a DVD player for movie night and a wide selection of DVDs (free to borrow during your stay) at our Reception Office.

This was a lovely property that felt like someone's home. All the rooms were thoughtfully furnished and the kitchen had every appliance you can imagine, as well as great cookware and dishes. Meal making was fun. The views from windows on three sides were lovely and it felt very private. Everything was new and clean and the management company responded to questions almost immediately. We definitely plan to return here next fall. I did not get to rate skiing because we were there in mid-October. We found a hike we enjoyed close by and saw many options for exploration for our next trip. Early in the week some restaurants may be closed, but the community store (5 min away) was great for many needs and the restaurant next to it had great lunch options.

Traditional mountain cabin with great views and working wood stove for ambiance and heat. Clean and nice kitchen cooking supplies. Comfy beds. Few minutes to mountain and lake laura. Cons if you twisted my arm, not a ton of space inside for ski equipment, tight parking space/s.
