Our gorgeous romantic Glamping Site has been designed exclusively for a couple and is perched in a stunning and secluded spot overlooking the peaceful Takou River, just a short drive from Kerikeri in the Bay of Islands.

Takou River Glamping is your own private and exclusive Luxury Glamping Site, offering Luxury or Glamorous Camping, sometimes known as 'Glamping' or 'Canopy Camping'! Nestled in a private corner of our 150-acre organic farm, overlooking a bend in the beautiful Takou River, welcome to your very own private and secluded Luxury Campsite. Designed exclusively for a couple, this is the ultimate private space to relax, reconnect with your loved ones and embrace the beauty of New Zealand's natural environment.

This is luxury camping or 'glamping' in style; no tent to pitch, no car loads of gear to unpack, no beds to make, no sleeping bags to unroll and no long drops to negotiate! Our glamping site is the perfect way to enjoy the great outdoors without sacrificing luxury.

Our beautiful white safari tent has been pitched on a reclaimed kauri timber floor and looks out across the river. Watch the sun rise over the water from your luxurious super king bed, complete with cosy linens and vintage furnishings.

Once you've settled into your luxurious safari tent and taken in the beautiful views, discovered all the little details in our vintage styled kitchen and bathroom cabin, take a wander down to the riverbank where you'll find your own private and romantic outdoor caste iron bath perched overlooking the river, complete with hot running water, and shaded by ancient Pohutukawa trees. The ultimate in romance and relaxation!

And if you're feeling energetic, your own private jetty on the river is equipped with a canoe and is perfect for fishing, swimming or simply gazing at the passing river.

The beautiful little camp kitchen, designed with a rustic and vintage feel, opens via French doors onto a north east facing deck. The kitchen is equipped with a solar powered electric fridge, gas hob, large bbq on the deck, table and chairs and all the crockery, cutlery and cooking utensils you'll need. Behind the kitchen is a lovely bathroom, with a hot shower, sink and wonderful old fashioned flush toilet.

Candles provide atmospheric lighting in the tent, and solar panels provide power for the lights in the kitchen and bathroom, electric fridge and a charger point for cameras and phone.

The Glamping Site is free from WiFi, Mobile Phone Coverage and all other intrusions! High Speed Internet are available a short walk away in the Guest Office next to the main Lodge, and a mobile phone signal can be picked up a 1.5 km up the hill.
