Smaller than what it looks in the pic, but it ended up being cozy and comfortable

We had a great stay at the Family Retreat! There was plenty of room, we were in the middle of the sights we wanted to see, it was great to have a fenced in yard for the dog and everyone enjoyed the fun game room basement! I had a few questions and the owner was very responsive and helpful throughout our stay.

What an amazing property and stay. Ample space, kid and dog friendly. Comfortable beds! Kitchen had plenty of items for a large family to enjoy a wonderful vacation! I must note, though we didn’t need due to the house being warm and cozy, they had extra blankets and pillows. Even the trash attendant was sweet and friendly! Property was clean and beyond welcoming! Not once did I feel like it was a vacation rental that was just a means of revenue due to it having a home like feel! The host was friendly and kind and would absolutely recommend this rental to friends and family!

We really enjoyed our stay here. The game room was a hit with all of us including our 3 year old niece. The fenced in yard was great for our dog to roam around and we made good use of the kitchen and charcoal grill. Communication with Will was fast and effective.

This house is exactly what we needed for down time. Close to Hickory Run State Park. Jim Thorpe. Our dog especially loved the fenced in yard, not sure she wanted to leave. We will definitely be back.

This is a lovely property. The game room is fun, although we didn't use it as much as we thought we would. Fenced property is great for dogs. I think it would have felt more pet friendly if the host had provided the sheets to cover the couch as requested, and if the bedding didn't also have to be covered. There was also a request to vacuum up the dog hair at the end of the stay. Communication with the host was excellent. The appliances weren't very new, so we did have some issues that he addressed promptly. Some things were a bit limited, like only 1 dish towel, very few dishwasher pods for the capacity of the house. Trash has to be hauled quite a distance away.I can't speak to the amenities because it was late September, so we didn't utilize the beach or the pool. All in all a very fun stay in PA. Weather was lovely, house was ideally situated for my purpose and had plenty of room for my guests.

I'd really go to 4.5. The only issue is the very loud air conditioners, and the difficulty getting the lower bedroom to a dry comfortable temperature.The house is as advertised. Linens and towels included and ready to use. Clean and comfortable. Unfortunately due to a personal emergency we couldn't bring our dog but I'm sure he would've loved the yard. The game room in the basement was awesome for us and our 2 adult kids. The lake beach is beautiful and the pool looked nice though we didn't get to use it. Only downside is be prepared to drive for almost anything like restaurants. But we found good ones within 15 minutes!!

Great place to stay! Games kept the kids occupied with something to always do. Really had a good time.

We had a good stay. Only problem was an uncomfortable bed and couch. The kitchen was nicely stocked and the yard was great for our dogs. We did have to wait until the dishwasher was done and all dishes put away per rules so we were delayed leaving. Please note that you will have to wear a bracelet to use pool, beach and garbage drop off

We gad a great time!! The house was lovely and as described by the owner. The fenced in yard was great for the two dogs. We also took walks around the neighborhood and it was very peaceful. Overall this was a great house for us and I would definitely recommend staying there.

The house was great! Since it was so cild we stayed in other than some quick trips to the store. We spent the weekend hanging out in the ipen living area and plating games. The game room was fun - lots to keep us occupied.

This is the second year in a row we have rented this property for a ski weekend. My family enjoys the game room when we are off the slopes. This Sunday was particularly special as the Eagles won the Super Bowl!! Go Birds!

Our stay was very enjoyable and everyone had a great time! The listing was accurate - all the amenities and variety of things to do within the house kept us busy. Kitchen was well stocked and thought out. The house was cozy especially during the wintery nights. We will definitely come back for a longer stay.

Everything as described. Very fun game room to keep us busy in the middle of winter. No issues at all. Looking forward to staying at another of Will’s properties in the future.

This stay was a perfect weekend getaway. My friends and I wanted to have a weekend away with the pups and this was a great place. Huge yard for the dogs, basement was an arcade with all games, and the living room was perfect for lounging and watching tv. The kitchen was a great size for cooking. The only complaint we had is that the kitchen supplies need to be upgrade. But all in all, would 100% stay here again.

Beautiful property in a great location.

We rented this amazing house for our daughter’s 10th birthday. We had 6 of her girlfriends, 1 their moms and myself and my husband and our 3 small dogs. The house had amazing space! The cleanliness was great! This is my 1st rental from VRBO. I used the other app for yearss and I would have to clean the house before actually enjoying it. However, w this house; I only did a quick wipe down (just because I like to do my own cleaning) but it wasn’t “necessary “. The kids loved the game rooms. The backyard was nice and very secured for our 3 furry babies. My family loved the house and the yard. The only CON was the mattress on the main floor needs to be replaced. When mentioning this to the host, he acknowledged my concern and spoke of a remedy. The other bed and bunk beds were good. Great stay!😊

The house was what we needed.. It was spacious with a huge yard for the pooches. The Game room was a blast every night and location was where we needed to be for daily hikes and a trip into Jim Thorpe. Would definitely recommend this place.

Cute house! Game room in basement was great! The beach and boats in neighborhood community center looked like fun but unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. The House was clean and comfortable. Beds and pillows not the most comfortable but that’s the only complaint we had. Lots of hiking nearby. We visited the town of Jim Thorpe which was too cute. Thanks for a nice stay

Family of 5 traveling with 1, 3, and 6-year-old and dog. There was ample room. The game room was awesome. Kitchen with all the necessities. Lovely back yard for the kids and dog. We used the boats on the lake ($20 per boat per hour). We hung out in the pool which was nice, not extravagant but what we were expecting. The lake front beach was fun as well. One week day we were the only people there for a couple of hours and another week day it was packed. We ate several times at the snack bar by the pool. It was surprising good and fresh food at a great price. I would recommend bringing groceries with you if you plan to cook as the nearby grocery store is sort of slim pickings. Overall it was a great trip, exactly what we were expecting by the description and reviews on google, and would recommend to anyone looking for a low key getaway.

Property is well appointed, functional and owner was very prompt with communication. Super large deck with outdoor furniture and grill. Fenced in yard is a great bonus for pets and kids. Kids had a blast roasting Marshmallows for s’mores. Bathrooms nicely updated and kitchen is fully equipped. Lower level game room was enjoyable on rainy days. So many beautiful deer- moms, babies and huge buck roam the neighborhood. The lake was clean and the kids enjoyed the playground.All in all a great get away at a nice property.

Pros: Area was beautiful and even though a bit remote and plenty of deer sighting, it was close to major roads and not far from eateries and so on. We even got to see a bear roaming out back. Basement was awesome, but after days 2 flies were getting in the basement and we didn't have any fly swatters or ideas how to get them out. Cons: Could use a good deep cleaning, cabinet doors were sticky and had a residue on them. Oven had a mess in it which when I notified, owner was quick to resolve. I was under the impression there would be basic cleaning supplies, but didn't find any. All we had was soap and water to clean up spills and counters. Pool had zero chairs, which I found very odd and wish I had been informed prior as this was the first year I didn't bring beach chairs. Maybe these things were an oversight, was just was a tad disappointed.
