Family-Friendly Windham Estate, Swimming Pond, Spa

This house was amazing and perfect for our large family ranging in age from 86 to two 2 year olds. The house was clean and sprawling and comfortable. Great location. Great host. There were 17 of us and because of the age differences we needed lots of space and lots of bedrooms and bathrooms. Everyone commented on the very comfortable beds.

We did a family ski trip with ~20 family members of all ages. The place is beautiful, the layout is awesome, and the location can't be beat if you're trying to ski Windham (8 minute drive to the mountain). The décor is roosters - the kids had fun trying to count them all! Highly recommend.

The Mountain House was the perfect home to accommodate a few families and their children! The house is huge with a lot of rooms and bathrooms to give each family their own dedicated space. And then the common area and game room in the basement and the living room on the main floor are great areas for everyone to hang out. But our favorite was the enormous dining room table where we could all sit for meals, play games, talk, and do activities with the kids. We also enjoyed the hot tub, sledding in the backyard, building a fire and sitting by the fire pit, and skiing, hiking, and tubing down in the town of Windham which is only a few minutes away. Also plenty of restaurants to eat in or take out from nearby. And the host, Derrek, could not have been better! Very responsive before, during and after our stay and even dropped off some kitchen items we were running low on. I have to disagree with some of the recent reviews too. The house temperature was very comfortable (Nest thermostats everywhere), the WiFi was great, and the photos really don't do this house justice - they have updated a lot and there is so much space throughout the house. Our family will definitely be coming back!

We enjoyed a lovely time with our family at this house. The house is beautiful and we were so happy that it was big enough to fit our large group, with almost everyone getting their own room. We really appreciated the dining table being long enough that we could all sit down for meals together. The kids loved the pond and we spent lots of night around the fire pit. The only real downside was that this property listing states it has air conditioning, which it does upstairs (not that it worked very well), but not at all in the basement, which is where half the rooms are. We were there during an extremely warm weekend, and not only did the main living space not cool down below 79 degrees for a few days, but one of the upstairs bedrooms was in the 80s and we couldn’t get it to cool down at all. That room was uninhabitable. The basement rooms got increasingly warm throughout the day, and while it cooled off at night, we were worried about leaving sliding doors open because of bears. Overall this was a great house with lots of amenities, and we really enjoyed our time, but I would probably not choose to stay in the summer going forward.

My extended family (14 adults) and I stayed here for 2 nights as a family reunion before attending a conference in New York City. It's a pretty far drive from the city for just 2 nights - if you have more time, it's not so bad. If our budget had allowed it, we probably would have stayed closer to the city so we didn't have to drive as far. But we were all glad to be able to stay in one place which was fun. Loved using the firepit and sitting on the deck and by the pond in the mornings. You can tell from the photos that the house itself is a bit outdated but it was fine for a few days. The wifi was a little spotty at times for a large group but not a major issue. Derrek and his team were friendly and accommodating. The check-in process was easy with a keypad at the garage. They were just a text away with any questions or needs. There was a lengthy checkout list which we thought was a little extensive given how high the cleaning fee was priced but we made do with a large group of everyone pitching in to ensure we get the refundable deposit back. The Windham area is beautiful - lush bright green in the summer with tons of trails nearby (and of course skiing in the winter). A few restaurants and corner stores. Not much else though but that's the point, to be a bit more disconnected.

We absolutely loved our stay at this Property. We had ~20 people and did not feel crowded at all. Everyone had beds and the house was built for groups of this size! Also tucked away with minimal neighbors and a huge backyard. 10/10 will be back!

We had a great stay at the house. The pond was fun and the pebbly beach/shallow walk in area made it more fun for the babies and toddlers than a regular pool would've been. Kitchen was well stocked, and lots of bedrooms and hang out areas. Derrick was a perfect host - always super responsive and helpful with any questions. Would happily stay again!
