Perched high above the road with beautiful forest, mountain, and ski-slope views, Big Bear Gambrel is a three-story mountain retreat built for memorable group getaways. Soak in the private hot tub overlooking the slopes, host an epic movie night on the 120-inch projection screen, challenge the group to pool, darts, poker, or board games, or simply relax around the fire and take in the scenery. With accommodations for up to 10 guests, expansive outdoor spaces, two wood-burning fireplaces, and an entertainment-packed lower level, this renovated 1970 gambrel combines classic Big Bear character with plenty of modern comforts.

Please note before booking: The cabin sits high above the road and requires climbing stairs to enter. The home itself is also three stories, so guests must be comfortable navigating stairs throughout their stay.

Mountain Views & Cozy Living

The main level welcomes you with dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows framing the surrounding trees, mountains, and ski slopes. Sink into the oversized sectional and warm up beside the large wood-burning fireplace while enjoying your favorite shows on the 40-inch Smart TV with Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon capabilities.
A custom nine-person farmhouse table and bench make the dining area perfect for group dinners, game nights, and long conversations after a day in the mountains. The updated kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, and cooking essentials, along with updated appliances, a Keurig, and a traditional coffee maker. A propane grill is also available on the back deck.
Rabbit Air purifiers are provided on each floor.

Wraparound Deck + Outdoor Living

Step outside from the main level onto the large wraparound deck, one of the cabin's standout spaces.
Enjoy morning coffee surrounded by mountain scenery, gather around the outdoor fire pit, dine at the custom wood table, or relax among the outdoor lounge seating while watching the stars overhead.
Because the cabin sits high above the street, the elevated setting provides open views of trees, mountains, and the ski slopes.
Bedrooms
Both primary sleeping rooms are located upstairs.
Primary Loft: King bed, 40-inch Smart TV, retro Malm wood-burning fireplace, and beautiful forest and mountain views through the living room's vaulted windows. Please note that this bedroom is an open loft overlooking the living room.
Bedroom 2: Queen bed plus one twin-over-twin bunk bed and a private balcony overlooking the quiet, wooded backyard.

Game Room + 120 Home Theater

Head downstairs and the cabin transforms into an entertainment zone for adults and kids alike.
Challenge the group to a game on the full-size pool table, poker/chess/card table, or electronic dartboard. A collection of board games and puzzles provides even more options for nights at home.
Settle into the oversized LoveSac seating for movie night on the impressive 120-inch projection screen with surround sound. Apple TV and a Nintendo Classic add even more entertainment.
The lower level also includes two twin air mattresses that can be used here or in the main living area depending on your group's sleeping arrangements.
A second bathroom with a large walk-in shower is located on this level, along with the washer, dryer, and laundry supplies.

Private Hot Tub with Views

Step onto the lower deck and into your private six-person hot tub, where mountain and ski-slope views create an unforgettable setting for relaxing after skiing, hiking, biking, or exploring Big Bear.
Backyard King-Bed Nook
A unique addition awaits in the wooded backyard: a cozy approximately 100-square-foot triangular retreat with a massive 7.5-foot window facing the forest.
Inside is just enough room for a king-size bed, creating a peaceful bonus spot for napping, reading, watching snowfall, or stargazing surrounded by the woods.

Extra Amenities

Two cruiser bikes are available at the property for guest use. They're ideal for leisurely rides on local roads and lake paths but are not mountain bikes.
The home also includes speakers with Amazon Music capabilities, smart lighting features, and a Nest-controlled thermostat.

Important Access & Parking Information

Stairs: Big Bear Gambrel sits high above the road and guests must climb stairs to enter the property. The cabin is also a three-story home with additional interior stairs.
Parking: Maximum of 2 vehicles per the current property parking information. The driveway is sloped, and there is no street parking.
Winter Access: During snowy conditions, 4WD and/or chains may be required to access Big Bear and navigate the sloped driveway. Low-profile vehicles are not recommended during snow conditions. Guests should arrive prepared for current mountain road and weather requirements.

Pet Policy: Absolutely no pets are permitted due to the owner's severe allergies.
Security Cameras: Exterior Ring cameras are installed at the property for security and to help enforce occupancy and property policies.
Guest Access: Guests have access to the cabin except for a small locked owner's closet attached to the laundry room.
