Cozy chalet on Wintergreen Mountain

While the location was beautiful, I felt like it should have been disclosed that there isn’t air conditioning, we all sweat at night even with the provided fans. It got up to 88 one day. The heat was also on when we got there. There’s a bad ant problem in the kitchen. We are taking our trash home because the directions and map were confusing about where to take our trash. There is mildew everywhere in the upstairs shower. The bed downstairs has a sinkhole in the middle. We did like the location and front porch allowed for fun family time. We enjoyed spending time together there regardless of some of the circumstances.

The home was incredibly clean, and it was obvious they had thought of every little detail, from makeup wipes to a local bottle of wine waiting for us when we arrived.The house itself is beautiful and felt so comfortable and welcoming. My family stayed to celebrate my mom's 80th birthday. The location was great. The house the perfect. We had a full house. Plenty of room in the living room for movie night and birthday celebration. Kitchen was well stocked for cooking. The only suggestion I would say is if you do have a full house, bring extra towels. We had 1 per person and not everyone had wash cloths. It was great bringing our dogs, nice areas for walking. Lots of places nearby that allow pets. I would definitely stay again. Thanks for a wonderful stay Alex.

Cabin was as described/pictured and very easy to access. Accommodations were great - it was a lovely weekend. Host was very quick to respond when asked questions and thorough in response. The only thing that wasn't clear from the listing to me was that insurance purchase or a deposit was required for this property. Totally understandable, and did not deter me from the rental.

We had a fabulous visit. The house was perfect... cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the deck with our morning coffee. Wouldn't change a thing. We enjoyed visiting the local cideries and distilleries. Wintergreen didn't offer much for our kids (age 11 & 14) ... When we visit again, we'll leave them home!

I've stayed at dozens of vacation rentals and we own one. Never had to start out my stay by buying coffee. They didn't even provide the first morning of Joe for us, so I had to hustle down to the overpriced on-site convenience store before they closed! Later we found out they provide no laundry detergent either. Really cheap IMO.Property is obviously a cash cow that is not maintained very well. The sliding door handle fell off twice, the master bedroom bed sags in the middle (we both got backaches from it), chipped and peeling paint everywhere, rickety outdoor furniture...the best I can say is that the resort itself is nice. I'd recommend Wintergreen but this house is not worth it.

We all had such a nice time. It was a perfect location on the mountain. Close to hiking, swimming, playground and numerous creeks for the kids to play in.The cabin had all the comforts of home and was so very clean. We would definitely reserve here again!

We had a wonderful weekend stay at this cozy cottage. The location was perfect—peaceful yet close to everything we needed. The space was thoughtfully equipped with all the necessary appliances, making it incredibly easy to settle in and feel at home right away. Communication with the hosts was smooth and responsive, which made the whole experience even more enjoyable. Highly recommend for a relaxing and hassle-free getaway!

We were likely visiting on an off weekend, which was great for added privacy! The cul-de-sac was very quiet, woke up to birds singing and wind in the trees. On a busy weekend, we would have been closer to the neighbors than we would want. The chalet was outfitted nicely and was very comfortable for 3 audults and 2 dogs. Having two full bathrooms made getting ready in the mornings easy. Only item of causion, the stairs are a bit steep, fine for us, but maybe not fine for you.

We went to Wintergreen really not knowing the area just for a golf weekend and had a great time. The cabin was awesome and in a great location on the mountain. The whole area is amazing and we will definitely go back.

This property was exactly what we have signed up for. Located in a quiet cul-de-sac, with beautiful view of the mountains, it offered us a week of relaxation and decompressing from our busy life. The chalet had everything we needed in it and was very clean. The owners were very responsive as soon as we booked it. Very impressed!

Great location for relaxing retreat! Everything was perfect - couldn’t have asked for a better place to unplug for a couple of days.

Stayed here for a weekend girls trip and had a great time. The property is so peaceful, on a beautiful, scenic mountain! The house is adorable, clean, and well maintained. The check in and out processes were smooth and easy. Thanks so much for letting us stay and enjoy our weekend!

This mountain chalet is an ideal accommodation for a family or group of friends who like to hike the Blue Ridge Mountains as well as be close to breweries, wineries, and the slopes. The property managers provided everything to make our family comfortable and to ensure a wonderful experience. We will definitely rent this “cozy” property again in the future.

This was my first VRBO experience and it was an enjoyable one. Nice property with plenty of room. I was able to hike and get great seasonal photos from the area. The place was clean and had all of the amenities that were listed. I would revisit this place again. I experienced no problems with the cell phone service and the wifi was good.

My wife and I had a great time here with our dog. The cabin was cozy with easy access to hiking, a spa, golf and wineries. Definitely recommend!

This cozy little cabin was absolutely perfect. We were even surprised to find a bottle of wine waiting for us once we got inside. Would definitely stay again.
