cottage in the Southern Alps with lovely mountain views

A superb base for any local activities ie: skiing, rock climbing, flying and walking. The house is well equipped with everything you would need, it is vary spacious and has great views across Gap (the nearest main town) towards the Alps. This is the second time I have stayed here and the owners Marc and Isabelle are extremely friendly. They respond to any booking requests very quickly. The only other things you may need to now is that you have to pay a deposit on arrival in case you damage anything which is fully refunded if you treat the house with respect and bedding and towelling are not provided in the price but are available for hire. I can only add that if you stay here you will not be disappointed.

Nice view in alle directions to the high mountains. Rustique house in a personal country style. Good kitchen, nice bath rooms, good beds. Bring your roadbike, and encounter hills better that anything else. Hiking directly from the house. Numerous mountain bike trails. If your are a glider pilot: 10 minutes to Gap Tallard. Your host is an expert in outdoor acitivities in the mountains. Very recommendable. Jensen

Everything we need for the perfect holiday we found in Marc's beautifull cottage. A cosy and ( for two people) very spacious house as you can see in the correct description. We already told a few of our best friends and family members to rent this great place. There were so many beautifull hikes to make, too many. We will have to come back. Last but not least. Marc thank you for your hospitality. Your knowledge about the possibilities in the area were very usefull and although we couldn't do everything you recommended, the information you gave was very good. The kindest regards. The property is in the small hamlet of Chateauveux with amazing views of the surrounding Alps. It has a large wooded garden with plenty of room inside the cottage which is clean and well kept adding to its comfort. The location is really peaceful, even the buzzing of bees seemed loud! It is really handy for the nearby towns of Gap and Tallard both of which have a selection of bars, restaurants and shops. The owner is really helpful and will try to accommodate your needs as well as having excellent local knowledge of walks and cycling trails in the area.Our stay was primarily for flying lessons at the local aerodrome which was only 10 minutes drive from the house. This cottage is value for money and highly recommended - we have already booked our next visit in a few weeks time!
