From Pond to the house is a short walk up hill. There are no bathrooms at the pond, this is were the walk up hill was a big problem.
Even though the weather wasn’t great we had a good time and was very thankful for the play area for my grandbabies. The cottage was packed with toys, beach accessories and everything else needed an enjoyable week. The owners offer of letting us check in early was very much appreciated!!
Our family spent a week at Nana's Cottage and had a great time. Upon arrival it was disappointing to observe the many tall weeds and lack of curb appeal. The terrain of the yard doesn't allow for outdoor relaxation or dining. However, the inside was clean and cozy. The floorplan with a second living room and third bedroom downstairs worked well with teens having their own space to hang out, watch TV and sleep. The kitchen was generally well equipped and offered up to date appliances. We did have issues with ants, broken chairs and many chipped dishes but nothing that ruined our good time. The Chalk Pond Association's boating and tennis offerings are excellent and added to the enjoyment of our vacation. We didn't have occasion to use the beach, but it appeared to be as advertised. Hopefully in the future many families will enjoy the cottage as much as we did.
Our daughter along with her husband & two kids spent a relaxing weekend at the cabin. It was so enjoyable. We were able to do a short hike, fish in the pack & even kayak! I would definitely consider going back!
We really enjoyed our stay at Nana's cottage! We have stayed in a lot of different vrbo houses through the years and this is by far the best stocked kitchen I have had the pleasure of cooking in. Tons of plates/pans/utensils and spices! The place was very clean, and welcoming. Kevin, the owner was wonderful and even followed up with us while we were there seeing if we needed anything. The only thing I would warn about is there are NO street lights in the area, finding the house at night is difficult. All in all wonderful stay, the pond is very close, as is the tennis court, it was a bit cold while we visited so we didn't really utilize either unfortunately. Would definitely stay again if we make it back up to the area.
We had a great time relaxing, playing games etc. It was a nice little get away for 4 friends celebrating their 50th. Such a cute little cottage. ?.
Stayed for two nights. Place was cozy ,clean and had everything we needed! Wonderful view of the sun rising . Loved having coffee on the deck!
This home had everything we needed for a weekend away. The location is great and close to all the scenic attractions and hiking that we were looking for during the fall foliage season. We had no issues with anything at the home.
We have been staying at Nana’s Cottage regularly and this visit was as great as always. Kevin is a wonderful host and very communicative. The house was very clean and in good shape. Plenty of space for our family. And Chalk Pond just down the hill. Everything we want from a VRBO!
Very clean overall and spacious lower level with many extra amenities provided. We tried the kayaks on the pond and loved the hamaka chairs too. Kevin was very quick to respond to emails which was much appreciated!?? He also had the place cleaned early enough so that we could check in early and drop off some stuff to go enjoy our first day which allowed us to go out on our boat that afternoon. Love the area! Only negative we found was the overgrown yard but that did not inhibit our enjoyment of our vacation!! We would definitely stay there again!!
Nana’s Cottage was the perfect set-up for my family unit. With 2 levels of living area, my daughter and her family occupied one level, while my other daughter & I were on the other. Kevin, provided nearly everything one could think of to enjoy a vacation near the water. The pond itself was just right and the people we met while there (renters & owners were so friendly and helpful. I can’t wait for a return visit!
We had a really nice stay at this property. Admittedly we were a little nervous driving up to the house -- the yard is completely overgrown and there are weeds and poison ivy growing everywhere, which wasn't the best first impression. However, the inside tells a different story. The house was wonderfully stocked with everything that our family could need. It was really perfect for kids, and there was enough for them to do even when it rained. The location is beautiful and peaceful, and we loved swimming and kayaking every day.
Very nice cabin/house. Was perfect for our family. Location near the pond is beautiful. We would definitely stay there again.
Good host communication. This is a great camp as a home base for activities with kids, kitchen had everything you could need - close to the water. As far as camps go, solid stay. We were a party of 2 so this was expensive, and there are really only two good adult bedrooms. We were there for a wedding and would have loved to have at least 1 full-length mirror for event prep. Only other call-outs: it was a 100 degree hot day and hot night without bedroom fans/AC, downstairs bedroom didn't make sense for our group (bunk beds, musty odor maybe having to do with a heater that had been left on before we arrived) so we stayed upstairs. Ants are just par for the course when you're out in the woods in early summer, so keep in mind they're around (we noticed in the bedrooms and kitchen toaster). Great location for getting to town and really nice host.
We had a very nice stay here. There were great hikes in the area and and awesome little town nearby with excellent restaurants, food stores, etc. The house was very clean and well appointed. The only suggestion I have would be to use that outside back area for something, like fire pits and chairs. The hanging hammocks were a good touch. The stars were unmatched. There is a small walk to the pond and I wish I it was warmer when we went, but I could see people loving that for boating, etc. I also thought the way you dispose of trash was odd. You have to take it to the dump. The guy at the dump wasn’t very nice, so it was an odd experience. But overall we had a really nice time. My parents are older (70s) and mentioned how nice the beds were. They were very comfortable. I loved that there were fans in all the rooms as well as extra towels, and laundry baskets. There was so much soap, etc, we barely used what we had (and we forgot a couple things too that you had). It was an easy stay and communication was easy. Thank you for making my graduation weekend memorable!
