Birch Bay Beach Cabana - a tiny oasis close to everything at the Bay. Pets OK

The room and bed was clean. But the owners dog pooped in the shower one night and peed on the bathroom rug the next. It would also be nice if it mentioned the bathroom and shower was inside of the main house, not in the cabin.

Ocean was visible from the property, room was immaculate and functional. Totally recommend this cottage

Lots of quiet time

I received several lengthy emails from the owner saying we would receive the code for the property shortly before the check in time. We never received the code. We had to find a motel to spend the night in. I'm expecting a full refund

My first vrbo, host was accommodating, had a last minute change and was no problem, very clean, you do have to use the main house for bath facilities but easy acess, 2 minor things, there is only one out let for the refrigerator, microwave and Kuerig had to get down and plug in microwave to use, and small night table on both sides of the bed, other than that great time easy to get to, thanks John

The door to the cabin was open as well as the house, no response. I felt unsaved and left. I went to the Semiahmoo instead, so I spent extra money si I would like to get a refund since I never stayed.

The cabana was a nice little place to stay the night, and a short walk and got to see a beautiful sunset over the bay!

The space was clean and cozy. The bathroom situation was weird for sure. Always felt like I was intruding and there was always someone hanging out in the house when we went through the main space. This is a stay for extroverts for sure.

Quiet place to stay in Birch Bay. I loved being able to walk every night down to town and to the public beaches which were skips away.

We were very excited to stay here for a second time! Great price and quick walk to the beach. Sadly the sweet dog left us a poop in the shower. I sent the host a message hoping to get it cleaned up so we could use the shower but unfortunately we never got a response. Even after we checked out, we never even got an apology message or anything, which was very disappointing : (

The owner made the check-in process easy. I got to the property late in the evening and the check in was easy. The cabana was clean and comfortable. The bathroom is in the main house right as you enter the house. Overall a great stay.

John was very helpful and the Cabana was a cute pace to stay. I appreciated access to the main home for BR/Shower.

A beautiful Cabana full of sunlight and fresh air. Air conditioning when needed! The Cabana was Walkable to the candy shop and coffee/ breakfast eatery. Views were breath taking, I spent my evening looking out, at the sunset over the bay! Charming and comfortable. John is a great host.

I really had a nice time at the Cabana! John was attentive to questions and needs, and the Cabana was comfy and cozy! Definitely will be an option for me next time I'm back home

I didn't mind the separate bathroom in the main house. The little dog is the best part.i didnt find access to the the back patio. I had to go over a bench to see the koi pond. Then a big raccoon came out from behind a the fence.The evening was loud with fireworks. Then at midnight the owner got into his very loud truck and drove somewhere. I barely got any sleep. There is barely a view of the ocean from where you will stay. You have no outdoor space. Also, the owner should include a mirror and a box of tissue.I left first thing in the morning. I wouldn't have come back even if i could.

Nice place, clean, and I would rent again. Would’ve been nice to have a bathroom and running water in the unit instead of having to walking into the house.

We booked the cabana with good intentions to enjoy our short stay. The information regarding the property is misleading. See attached photos. After having dinner and walking our dog, we arrived around 7:30-8:00pm. I opened the door with the code provided. The small room was super cute, but to our amazement, there wasn't a bathroom or sink. We aren't going to get dressed just to go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. The ad for the property showed a bathroom and it was listed as 1 bathroom. After not even stepping inside the cabana, we left in frustration. We were tired and disappointed that this information was not more prominently advertised. After we left I tried to message and call the owner without a response asking for a refund. . Only after not receiving a response, did I say that I didn't want to leave a poor review, hoping he would be understanding and refund our money. Well, here I am leaving a very poor review. We are too old to be getting dressed just to use the restroom.

Such a peaceful and cute little place to stay. It was perfect for what we were looking for when wanting to escape for a bit

Just one night great for the money Iit would not let us skip the winery experience. We didn’t use is and don’t drink. Saw the wine refrigerator in the room.

My partner and I enjoyed this clean, well-decorated cabana. The shower was luxurious, the bed was soft, and host communications were thorough. A cozy space to spend a weekend in.

The cabana was an excellent choice for a short stay at an affordable price. The property manager provided very detailed information about the rental. If you're looking for a no frills or fuss place this is a great option!

Property was perfect for my daughter and I to stay for the evening while celebrating New Year's Eve in Birch Bay.

We arrived around 9pm and immediately had problems. We realized the bathroom was in the main house, which was not clear in the listing, and we would not have booked, being two girls. The door to the room is unlocked by a key code, with no deadbolt inside, meaning anyone with the code could walk in at any point. We had issues with the heater not working, and needing extra towels so we messaged the host as listed. The host claims they are reachable until 11pm but there was no response. We didn’t mind since it was close to 10pm, but there was no response in the morning. Another issue arose when we went to shower in the morning. We went in together for safety, but one of us went back to the room to grab something. As the door was shut, with the shower running as someone was showing, the door opened, then quickly closed. It was not one of us who opened the door, but someone else in the house. The host lists that no one uses that bathroom anyway. The door was SHUT with the shower running and the host clearly opened the door and said nothing. During this, there was still no response to previous messages. Next, we received a message regarding there being liquid in the drive way, assuming that it was a bunch of oil. The host suggested parking on cardboard or not in the driveway at all. There was no liquid on the driveway when we arrived. But there was still no response to previous messages. If you are looking to stay here, as two females, don’t.

Supposedly had a plumbing issue. Had to make other arrangements in a hurry as an emergency.

It was clean and a nice place to stay at while visiting family in the area.

Clean and cute building next to main home. Felt very cozy, could walk down to the main part of town though it was a bit of a walk. Generally quiet though some noise from the main home woke us up in the evening.
