Number 6 Narrow Water Castle

We had the most amazing stay at this property. The accommodation was very well equipped and clean. The views from all windows of the property were magical. The zip-line, trampoline and swings were superb for our children. The beds were very comfortable in the property but our only criticism is that a super king size bed in the main bedroom instead of the double bed would have been greatly appreciated.

Overall an excellent place to stay. Very quiet and spotlessly clean. It does not have a microwave oven unfortunately. The surrounding countryside is beautiful.

Set in extensive

The property location was unique. The apartment was decorated beautifully. We had little communication with the managers after checking in and it was unclear about trash disposal.

The apartment was spacious and well equipped. It also had the best showers of anywhere on our trip of the Emerald Island. The grounds and Castle are breathtaking. The owner was pleasant and helpful from start to finish. I would definitely stay again.

Great opportunity to stay in such an historic home. We stayed in #6 for a week and it suited every need. Modern conveniences. The apartment has been renovated to include modern appliances, tv, internet, fireplace, anything you'd need. Very convenient to Newry, Warrenpoint. The owner was charming, even took us on a tour of the castle. We'd certainly stay again. Thanks to Ramona for making checkin very easy.

Our four day booking of this property was extremely disappointing. We were shocked when we drove up and parked our vehicle in the back of the castle. The first impression was a dirty white sheet wrapped around the terrace pillar. Then the trash thrown in a pile down a set stairs to what looked like a basement. When we entered the front door we saw a sign written in black marker warning occupants to keep the door closed to keep the dogs out. This door and the hallway door were being kept open by a fire extinguisher propped against them so they wouldn’t close. We reluctantly climbed the stairs and were met by a spider web that had been there a while. The window view was another shed filled with trash. When we got to the apartment door there was a folding bed right outside the door. The skylight window was nice, but it was covered with flies. The wall with the radiator was peeling, most likely from the heat. The bathroom with the tub would only be suitable if your were bathing a small child. The second bathroom was tiny and was only a half bath. The place might have been lovely in its prime, but it was past its prime. As two seniors, we didn’t feel safe. We left and found a hotel for the night so we could figure out what to do next. The host refunded the four days. We lost out on doing our laundry and the groceries were no good to us without a fridge and stove. So much for a relaxing visit. We took multiple pictures and asked VRBO about posting them. That’s not an option.

Exactly what you would want from a true castle experience. The grounds are beautiful and the apartment has been updated just enough without taking away some of the historic charm. Excellent location between Dublin and Belfast but close to some wonderful little local towns up the coast.

Great space for a family. Roomy with plenty of beds/baths. Very nice accommodations. Spacious grounds. The listing shows lots of pictures of a cool castle on the grounds, but this is not where you’ll be staying.

A magical place with loads of character. Beautiful setting, lots of space to spread out. We had a great time watching the birds, strolling the grounds, and relaxing.
