Best Property in Flagstaff: Great for a Large Family or several families to share!
The house was perfect for all 12 of us. There is plenty of space to have some privacy if you wanted to be away from the group. The kitchen was awesome and there were plenty of pots, pans, cutting boards, and anything else. We travel with a large container of things that we typically see missing or does not work well in VRBO rental. We did not need to open that container at this house, this was a first for us!! We loved the music that was able to be played through the house. There are plenty of TV's for everyone. Dining room table sat all of us with no issue. The laundry room was fantastic. This is always great when staying for extended period of time. There were plenty of towels and hand towels. The rooms were plenty big for all. The Elk herd came out a few times essentially in the backyard. We had a wonderful Christmas and New Year at the house. We loved it and would stay again. Oh and the garage was spacious for all the vehicles. Great house with very nice memories!
Beautiful on the outside but has so much deferred maintenance and things that didn't work. This place has no window coverings on the bedroom windows. If you like your privacy, this may not be for you. This was our worst experience ever at a VBRO property. Everyone in our group was either impacted by the lights that stayed on all night outside during the night with no window blinds or broken items or the high tech light system. There were lights that didn't go on and lights that didn't go off. Good luck trying to get a good nights rest here in its current condition. Too many problems to list. We were compensated for the poor experience, however it is unfortunate the property owner didn't do the repairs to make this place acceptable. It is also under construction in one part of the space.
While the home was lovely and large and memorable, we were told that our punch list of issues with the house and a complete renovation were going to be commencing immediately after our stay. The property manager was understanding and compensated us fairly.
Great house!! Tons of space!! Close to everything in flag!! Definitely recommend it!!
Delightful castle! There is plenty of room for all ( we were a group of 18 women) .
Beautiful cabin that needs some updating and TLC. Overall we enjoyed our Polar Express trip with our family.
Beautiful area, very convenient, Spacious, plenty of room for 18 +, Well constructed and quiet
Good
Stunning home and views with lots of room for the 10 family members staying to attend our daughter’s wedding in Flagstaff. Lights in one bathroom, the pantry and a bedroom closet didn’t work, but the property manager provided temporary lighting and a note they’ll have the lighting issues fixed before the next guest stay.
Not for the technically challenged. For a smart house, it was a revelation. It couldn’t make up its mind on lighting or cooling. Hallways and bathrooms had motion-sensing lighting, kitchen needs that option. For space and location it was great. It is a house that could be wonderful after it transitions.
The rental process was very smooth.
House was just as advertised. Lots of room to hang out. The A/C went out briefly and the owner had someone out to fix it promptly (easy fix - breaker tripped but it was in a locked area so we couldn’t reset it ourselves). Enjoyed the hot tub and the scenic surroundings. Highly recommend.
The Castle is a truly unique property and the host provided an excellent experience. We have been renting vacation homes for our three-generation family for more than 25 years. Many of them provide amenities and comfort; but this one provided both in an exquisite surrounding. The engineering and construction that went into this home were truly awesome. Highly recommended for a once-in-a-lifetime experience.
1. A large kitchen window screen fell down 3 times. 2. The bathroom sink garage, plugged. (we got it going) 3. Would have been nice for more outside chairs. 4. The furniture and beds could use an upgrade.
Beautiful and very large house in the forest. Lots of room in the house for a large family get-together. Very private and quiet location not far from shopping/restaurants in downtown Flagstaff and close to many places for hiking in the forest and beautiful/interesting places to visit.
Amazing house. Perfect for friends and families. With plenty of room and beautiful views.
Great space, excellent kitchen and gathering areas. Air conditioning was noted as automatic at 78 but never came on; a little warm early evening but cooled off. Pictures show nice green lawn areas surrounding the property but there were none.. pictures could be updated to reflect a draught. Supplemental sleeping provided air mattresses; 3 went flat after a short time...bought 2 toppers at Sam's Club. Pool table had one good stick and pouches torn on two so balls would fall on floor. Some furniture ready for updating. Would have preferred plain old switches and thermostat ; smart system no so smart or possible the occupants. Gave a four because overall experience was good for the family; enjoyed it in spite of the irritations.
The castle is amazing!
This place was so peaceful, the house/castle was huge. We had a total of 9 kids and they loved the space (hide and seek was amazing), and even with that many kids I felt I could just walk into another room and I had my own space (sound was blocked well from our room by a simple close of the massive wood door). Also I love unique style buildings and this was a beautifully designed home! I loved how centralized it was to places we wanted to visit, we could head down to Sedona for hiking or check out the Grand Canyon then head back easily and relax. And the stars at night were absolutely stunning. The night sky in Flagstaff is a marvel in itself, especially if you step out in the middle of the night. The only thing I could say is maybe having a larger washer or multiple washers would be handy. Having two large groups staying we were having to balance laundry, but it wasn’t too hard. Loved main master bedroom shower!!! I would love to visit again and would recommend to anyone looking for a gorgeous, comfortable, and relaxing experience.
The palace home was quite unusual. Owner and property manager were responsive to some problems we had. Pros and cons. I felt that it was expensive for what it offered my group.
