Bold Coast Camp Minutes from Acadia's Schoodic Peninsula

Let me start by saying Margaret was a kind, lovely lady who clearly put an enormous amount of care, time and effort into making a beautiful tent and camping area. The tent was lovely, spacious and clean, and contained many thoughtful amenities. There are wood burning and gas firepits, a sink area and a private shower area with plenty of water bags. The port o potty was very clean and smelled nice. The inside of the tent was lovely and we had robes, flashlights, games, lights, and the bed was very soft and comfortable. The issues we had were our expectations of it being near water and private, but it's basically a lovely campsite in someones back yard area and close to a busy road. We could mostly hear only traffic noise. The neighbors had a rooster that crowed very early in the am as well. It is only about 1/4 mile from one section of Acadia, but we didn't realize the main part of Acadia and Bar Harbor are 1 hours drive away. After spending the day in Acadia and having dinner in Bar Harbor, we didnt have the energy to drive back to the site for our 2nd night as it was very late so we found a cheap motel for the night close to Bar Harbor. If you don't mind being in someones back yard with no view or sound of the ocean, then it's a beautifully done campsite and I would highly recommend.

A totally comfy yurt with all amenities, and a lovely host. Have already shared this with other friends and will return myself as soon as I can. A very special spot at the brink of Schoodic, the secret prime best of Acadia.

Had a nice stay. Will return once the shower system works better.

Great location for walking to restaurants or quick access to Schoodic Peninsula and all its beauty! Check-in was easy, bed super comfortable. Gas fire pit and solo stove for wood camp fires. Back corner of backyard, but felt private. Lovely spot! The shower bags got hot in the sun, but there wasn’t a place high enough to hang them to actually take a shower. One small improvement would be to rig a pulley system to get the shower bag up near head level! Also, the solar patio lights were nice, but we couldn’t figure out how to turn them off!

We absolutely loved staying in the tent! Every necessity was thought of, and the location was perfect for our weekend getaway hiking Acadia! Our host, Margaret, was super accommodating and it was very clear that she cared about how comfortable we were.

Margaret’s glamping set up is a singular tent on her private property. She’s done a great job at making it very comfortable, private, full of solar powered light, and all the amenities you could need. I I also much preferred Winter Harbor to Bar Harbor.

Great place to stay while exploring the area

Exactly the glamping experience that we came for. It's a little ways away from the main Park, but we prefer going off the beaten path - it was definitely worth our while. The campsite has everything you could possibly need - all you need is your shampoo and coffee! All touches are so thoughtful and welcoming. Margaret's surrounding gardens are just gorgeous. You may be lucky to receive a visit from Charlie 1, the calico cat! Margaret is a beautiful soul and a perfect host. There if you need her or care for a chat, but otherwise leaves you to do your thing. Highly recommend this spot

The yurt was clean and cozy with more than enough pillows, blankets, ect. to help us feel at home. The location is in the back/side yard of a personal residence but still very much surrounded by nature- a deer came to munch at night and early morning. There was a fan, charging block, lanterns, and more. The porta potty was clean enough you could go in without shoes if you really wanted and movement sensitive lights outside and inside for night time . Loved the camp kitchen and shower.The location was wonderful as Winter Harbor is much quieter than Bar Harbor and the Schoodic loop was wonderful for sunrise. Would recommend a slow morning or evening at the sight. Downeaster coffee shop was perfect for breakfast. Margaret was very kind and even put fresh flowers out as a special request. We would love to stay here again :)

Margaret is a wonderful host and prepared the tent for anything one would need. The charging stations, robes, games, and kindling were especially helpful and unexpected. The bed as others have said was extremely comfortable and there were plenty of soft warm blankets for a nice sleep.We hope to be back one day!

Beautiful, cozy, and comfy yurt. Everything we needed for camping. The location was quiet and out off the hustle and bustle of bar harbor. The host was very helpful, kind, and respected of our space.
