We’ve done a lot of VRBOs and this was among the best. The hosts were responsive to the few questions we had. The cabin was quite clean inside and also on the spacious outdoor decks. We had most of our meals at the cabin & there were ample dishes, cutlery, pots, pans, etc. to cook for the 10 of us. Beds were comfortable. All of us enjoyed the proximity to hiking, creek stomping, rock jumping, zip lining, miniature golf and a Gorge Underground excursion. But our days always included enjoyable “cabin time”: an air hockey tournament, a streamed movie, lots of card games, fishing off the dock, kayaking, swimming and hot tub time. The fire pit satisfied the grands’ S'mores cravings and their favorite meal was steak on the grill. Kentucky Straight Wilderness Cabin was a hit with the Collins clan.

Very beautiful and well thought out. I had a few questions before and during our stay and host was very responsive and knowledgeable. The house itself is very well accommodating and one can see how much thought was put into the fine details of accommodating guests. We loved going to the pond and utilizing the available kayaks along with the relaxing views off of the back deck. Very well done!

This place was PERFECT for our 3 families. Everyone had a bed and there are plenty of bathrooms! The kitchen and house is the most stocked of any rental we’ve ever been to. They have everything you can think of. The hot tub decks are perfect for outdoor hanging. The pond was our favorite part! We fished, swam and kayaked multiple times over the weekend! 10/10 and we will def rent this place again

Nice cabin- easy to get to and get around to all highlights. Lake was nice to fish and kayak. Had everything we needed, but as they mention, bring extra towels or just wash yours. Plenty of sleeping room and seating on deck! Owners were super responsive and helpful! Definitely a great stay and will be back!

The house was amazing! So clean, so well kept up, amazing location. It was just what we had hoped. The deck was very nice. Sounds weird but we really appreciated that. It had a great view and very well taken care of. I’ve been to vacation rentals that you couldn’t walk on without shoes because of splinters. This one was so nice. The hot-tub was very nice. Kids loved fishing for bluegill off the dock. The location is excellent for that area. YouTube tv at the house was a very nice perk since it was elite 8 time! Very quiet, secluded, safe area. Overall just a very enjoyable experience.

This is a great cabin for our annual girls weekend. Plenty of space to sit and relax, clean, well provisioned, Nice lay out, comfortable beds. The hosts were responsive to our questions. Close proximity to Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge. We will be back!

Great stay overall! The house was cute, big enough to fit our group comfortably, and provided lots of extra things which was nice. The only concerns we had were with a large amount of lady bugs (15) in the master bathroom that seemed to be coming in from a light, and some rats in the grill when we attempted to use it. Neither of these things were a super big deal for our group, however they rose a little concern, but overall the pros definitely outweighed the cons of this cabin!

Location was great! Very convenient to all the fun Red River Gorge adventures!

The cabin was wonderful - had everything we could need for a weekend stay. It was clean, comfortable, and the views were spectacular. The host was responsive when we had a couple of questions about the cabin and let us check in a little early which was very kind of them to do. We would absolutely stay again in the future!

The cabin was perfect for a long weekend with our children and grandchildren! The house was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed. The boys loved the campfire every morning and evening. The 14 yr old girls loved the hot tub.

I feel like a broken record but this cabin is perfect for our family. Everyone has a bedroom and is centrally located. The babies and the grandparents hike Saturday morning, then we come back for naps while the rest of the gang gets more challenged. It’s perfect in every way. Thank you

This is our 3rd time staying at this cabin. Our 1st yr was a surprise for my husbands 50th bday. Our grandson decided it should be a family tradition and so now it is. Plan on coming back for years to come.

We had a wonderful time at this cabin! Everything was as advertised and perfect for the 10 of us! The walk down to the lake is steep but well maintained and the kids loved the kayaks and swimming in the lake. The area has wonderful hiking and great things to do. If you love the outdoors, you will love it here!

Kentucky Straight Wilderness was the perfect cabin for us! Our two families of 5 had plenty of space and really enjoyed the location. We were close to many trails and activities like zipline and kayaking. The small lake was a hit and the dock was perfect for swimming and fishing. The trail from the house to the lake was steep, but well maintained. The house itself was fabulous. Lots of deck space and table/chairs. We used the covered portion a lot since it rained off and on during our stay. The game room was used often for air hockey tournaments. It was nice to have a door to close to the basement - the air hockey games could get loud! We made most of our meals at the cabin and it was nice to have a well stocked kitchen. We also never ran out of hot water— a pleasant surprise when you have 10 people needing showers! The only thing that could be improved is the dryer. The washer was great but the dryer took forever (70min) to get things dry.But we all agree we want to come back to this particular cabin - the location, swimming at the small lake, and cabin itself made for a perfect vacation!!

Great place to stay. The property was listed accurately and had so many nice touches that made it feel like home. I.e blankets to cozy up with on the couch, family games to play, and books to read. This was one of our favorite rentals because of the house layout and expansive porch area. We enjoyed the use of the kayaks and the kids had no problem swimming off the doc. The incline to the pond was a bit steep for my Mom, but the fact that she could drive down on a nearby road was a plus. Good location with lots of places to eat within a 10-20 min drive. I highly recommend.

We needed space big enough for 7 adults and this was perfect for us! Great location to the activities we wanted to do, and the BBQ place just around the corner was also amazing! We would definitely book this place again.

So much about this rental to rave about! From check-in to check-out, the directions and process were thorough and clear. The area felt very safe, and it was the cleanest rental I've ever been in. The place had a very well stocked kitchen (utensils, glasses, silverware, etc). Everything in the rental was in good working order, the beds were even very comfortable. The hot tub, dock/lake, porch swing, air hockey table, multiple televisions, and great view were the icing on the cake. The only disappointment was that we didn't stay longer!

We rent vacation homes all over the world and this was by far the cleanest property we have ever been to! Loved everything this cabin offered to enjoy our stay. “Generational” rain and flooding had us worried about coming to this area but once we were there and saw location we felt very safe and secure. We had a family of 12 stay in the cabin. Everyone was very pleased. Cabin was clean, had enough room for everyone to sleep, there was plenty of bathrooms. Cabin was very fully stocked with kitchen utensils and supplies. Would definitely come back and stay in this cabin. The kids loved the hot tub and air hockey table.

Another great stay in this wonderful cabin. We love it! Everything you need plus more. Weather was perfect for enjoying the large deck.

Everything was as listed. Owners were communicative when i had a question. Really great experience with a lot of amenities.

This was our yearly trip to the RRG and Helene did her best to ruin our trip. Getting there on Friday was a chore only to arrive to no power in our cabin. Fortunately, it was back on by 7:30 and the festivities began. Saturday’s hiking was derailed by forest rangers having to close trails due to downed trees, so it was college football, air hockey, and snacks. This morning was a couple of short hikes for us old folks. You can never replace time and memories. Thanks to my children and their children. This is second time staying here. We had to brinf grandkids back after they continued to talk about our first trip here. They've asked if it can be a family tradition we do every year!
