Welcome to The Lincoln Log! This rustic little log cabin is a gem! We've completed a major remodel (as of December 2017) and are now adding fun things along the way. Our newest amenities are refrigerated AC which was installed in May 2018 and a hot tub which was installed in June 2018. Although the cabin is a single level property, it is built on the side of the mountain requiring a staircase of seventeen steps to the access the cabin. There is a maximum occupancy of four at The Lincoln Log. We require a minimum of a four-night stay.

No pets, please. No smoking inside the cabin, please.

Here's what the remodel included: new paint throughout, new plank floors throughout, new granite countertops in bathrooms and kitchen, new faucets and hardware in bathrooms, new mattresses and pillows, new linens, new curtains, new decor, new light fixtures, new TVs, new small appliances, new dinnerware, the addition of new furniture, AC and a hot tub.

The Lincoln Log has two-bedrooms. The master has a king-size bed, 32 TV and en suite bathroom with a shower. The second bedroom has a queen-size bed and a 32 TV. The second bathroom has a tub/shower combo. The living room features a wood pellet fireplace, 40 TV, loveseat, and two comfy recliners. The kitchen is fully-equipped: gas range, frig with icemaker, Mr. Coffee drip-style coffeemaker, Keurig, dishwasher, microwave, toaster, hand mixer, dinnerware, silverware, serving dishes, cooking utensils, teapot, pots, pans, ziploc bags, foil, cling wrap, trash bags, paper towels and a few pantry staples (coffee, salt, pepper, sugar and Sweet n Low packets for drinks, cinnamon, garlic powder, onion powder, steak seasoning). The Lincoln Log is also equipped with WiFi and cable.

The relaxing outdoor space includes a wrap-around deck on three sides of the cabin offering gorgeous views of the mountain scenery and wildlife. The hot tub is a favorite on the back deck. Our lot is wooded and has some great boulders to climb on. We love our wildlife visitors which include deer, elk, turkey, fox, coyote, squirrel, raccoon, skunks, and birds. There's always a creature to see! We keep out a water trough as well feed and suet that are appropriate for them. You will enjoy watching them as they visit what we call The Watering Hole in our backyard.

The Lincoln Log is centrally located, but secluded in a quiet neighborhood with lots of trees on a dead-end street. No through traffic to disrupt the peace, and the houses are not jammed together which allows for privacy. It takes approximately three minutes to get to Midtown Ruidoso. The road to The Lincoln Log is steep and winding, and the driveway is very steep as well. During winter months, WE STRONGLY ADVISE FOUR-WHEEL DRIVE OR CHAINS, if snow and ice are present. The driveway is a little awkward to navigate so we suggest a two car max.

The Lincoln Log is only a few minutes from the Mid-Town Ruidoso shopping district. It takes about 15-20 minutes to drive to the Ski Apache turnoff in Alto; it's another twelve miles up the mountain to get to the ski resort and driving times vary with weather conditions, traffic and road construction. The Inn of the Mountain Gods is a ten-minute drive from the cabin.

Check in time is 4:00 pm Mountain Time; check out is 10:00 am Mountain Time. However, we are often able to offer an early check in (noon) and/or a late check out (noon) depending on our reservation schedule.

If you are on social media, our Facebook page is The Lincoln Log”. We post Ruidoso and area happenings/events/news/shopping/dining on our page as well as fun things about the cabin.

We absolutely loved staying in the Lincoln Log Cabin. It was beautiful, clean, close to great food, shops & fun! We were welcomed into a warm & cozy cabin lit up by a beautiful Christmas tree & fresh baked cookies. Melanie was helpful, organized and her attention to detail was very much appreciated! We would recommend staying here!! It was a great getaway with tons of memories made!

Very lovely cabin. We enjoyed our stay and particularly enjoyed sitting on the deck and listening to the wind in the pines.

We chose this property for our 45th anniversary with our best friends. All the amenities were top of the line, from throws in the living room to hot tub robes to pots and pans. We plan to go back in two years!

My wife says this is like a two bedroom suite in a five star hotel, just lacking room service. It is a very well decorated and appointed cabin, everything you need, great hot tub area and deck, and super responsive hosts. Even robes in the closets! If I’d known all the games were there we would have left ours at home. Great time. Handy to the main drag, Inn of the Mountain Gods, etc.

Melanie and Jerry have outdone themselves with the Lincoln Log! If we were to ever get a cabin in Ruidoso, we would want it just like this. From the welcome cookies to the cozy towels to the nice big warm robes, everything about this cabin is inviting and immaculate. The house was spotless and they even provide travel-size soap, shampoo, and conditioner, as well as toothbrushes and makeup remover wipes! The hot tub is perfect with the Bluetooth speakers and the wildlife that casually walk by while you are relaxing. We stayed at the Two Braun Bears condo before it was sold, so we knew this was going to be a great stay, but it was so much more than we could have imagined. Location is perfect and quick to get to the main shopping in town as well as the grocery store in the opposite direction, but you wouldn’t know that from the solitude this house provides. Thank you for the most wonderful stay, and we will definitely be back and would not want to stay anywhere else.

We loved this house- everything we had hoped for! Wrap around decks with beautiful views. Deer that approach the back deck and will eat out of your hand! Enjoyed every evening in the hot tub. Modern kitchen with all needed pots, dishes, etc. Comfortable beds and spacious bathrooms. All the comforts of home. Only 1 mile from town but felt quiet and rural. Easy drive to many activities in the area. Fully recommend

Our family absolutely loved staying at the Lincoln Log cabin! It was very clean and roomy enough for our family of 4. It was fully stocked with everything we needed to make meals and coffee. The beds were very comfortable and there were plenty of extra pillows and blankets if needed. Our favorite part was relaxing in the hot tub after a long day of skiing and enjoying all the wildlife that would come up to our deck. The views are so gorgeous from this cabin!! Melanie was a great host and always so quick to respond. She was also very helpful on giving suggestions on things to do around town with our boys. We can’t wait to visit again!

The Lincoln Log cabin was much more than advertised. The two bedroom/two bath cabin was beautifully decorated, very clean, and in a quite centrally located area of Ruidoso. Downtown and shops were just minutes away. It was the perfect cabin for a family of four. The pellet stove kept us cozy on the chilly nights and star gazing/watching wildlife stroll by while in the hot tub was amazing. Owner/Host Melanie was a delight to work with. She made sure we had everything we needed prior to our stay and provided very detailed instructions on operating the pellet stove/hot tub. Thank you for a wonderful weekend. We definitely would recommend the Lincoln Log cabin and will book again when returning to Ruidoso.
