This beautifully renovated mountain cabin blends modern features with a traditional cabin feel, due in large part to its natural surroundings. Lounge blissfully in front of the cozy fireplace, enjoy the relaxing porch swing, toast s'mores around the firepit, or go for a soothing soak in the hot tub. When you're not pulling fish out of one of the many nearby rivers, cuddle up with someone you love in the spacious living area to enjoy a good book, a movie, or play a game together. The full kitchen is equipped with all the appliances and utensils you need to make a terrific fish dinner and delicious side dishes. Serve it up out on the screened porch table then use the gas grill to put a little char on some fresh Georgia peaches for dessert.

Has everything I wanted and needed Location is very good ?
The Sleepy Bear Hideaway is a perfect name for this home and location. The property has three levels of porch and three levels of sleeping areas, two bedrooms and a beautiful loft with full bathrooms on each level. This layout proved perfect for our three generation group. The full kitchen is complete with new appliances and kitchen and meal preparation and serving supplies. A dining area for eight was perfect for family meals. The comfortable living room, fireplace and porch swing became the gathering place for morning coffee and after dinner family time. The big circular outside fire pit is an amazing new addition and another inviting gathering spot. We enjoyed six relaxing days of at home comfort with no issues. ‘Highly recommend this well prepared and appointed cabin for short and extended stays. BTW: the laundry room washer and dryer allowed us to return home with clean laundry too.
This is not a cabin we would choose to stay in again. We had quite a few issues. The microwave doesn’t work unless you unplug it. The dining chairs were in need of repair. Two of them were coming apart at the legs. The 3 outside trash cans were completely overflowing with trash at check in. We had no room for our trash. The beds were not comfortable. The gravel road to get to cabin was very rough and had huge holes you had to attempt to dodge. The A/C took a full 24 hours to get to even a bearable temperature and the bedroom on the main level never cooled down. The downstairs bathroom toilet was so wobbly it could literally fall over. I was very displeased with our stay at this cabin.
Overall the cabin was nice. The microwave didn't work and the outside trash was still full, but when I contacted Vacasa, they responded quickly and took care of the issues. They were very helpful. The cabin was spacious and peaceful.
Cute cabin. Had everything we needed. Really enjoyed it! Main bathroom door lock needs to be fixed. I got stuck in there for a while. The cover on the hot tub looked questionable so we didn’t use it. The road up the cabin is bumpy and that is putting it nicely. Overall good experience. Would rent again.
Wonderful trip, spotless clean.
The gravel road, about 800' uphill was severely washed from recent rains. It was extremely challenging entering and leaving the property. The ruts from the wash were like driving over speed bumps. More than half of the gravel road was affected. It needs to be scraped and regraveled.
The only problem we had were the bedsheets - Not comfortable at all, but great property for a reasonable price. We loved the board game selection.
We loved the atmosphere & location of the cabin. There were a few things that need repairing (a couple dining room chairs were very unstable, the bathroom toilet downstairs was wobbly and there was no extra toilet paper besides what was on the roll) but overall it was a great vacation and place to stay. I would definitely recommend this place to family & friends.
Property has safety issues. Grey water drains in yard next to firepit. Possibly from washing machine? It had an odor and we had to move leaves and brush over the drainage to avoid mud and slips. Bathroom door on main floor not to code. Walker would not fit through. Steps are not even per building codes. Top is only about 2 inch so there was a trip issue. Luckily I fell going up the stairs not fall down the stairs. Ceiling over basement sofa bed has a leak. 2 of the dinning room chairs badly broken. We had to put them away so no one landed in the floor. The basement toilet is not anchored down so it tips sideways when you add it on it. The furniture is not dusted often, side tables etc. They are dirty and some broken. Under beds and sofas dirty. I would suggest moving to retrieve items. Don't reach under blindly. No bedding for sofa bed and not enough towels for the amount of (8) guest unless you washed multiple loads daily. No waste baskets downstairs.
