Winterset Inn: Luxury! Walking Distance to Snow Summit! Shuffleboard! Pool Table! Outdoor Hot Tub!

This was our first time with a VRBO and the welcome we recieved was anything but impressive! Dirty furniture, showers in need of complete cleaning (mold in corners), broken cue sticks, old/lworn cooking pans, missing bedding, burned out light bulbs, and a deck full of worn/torn furniture and cushions. Clearly this property had not been overhauled/cleaned/prepared for new guests and yet we still had to wait till the 4 pm hour to enter the home in order to allow transition from prior guests. The unfortunate thing about this property is that it is a beautiful home with plenty of room for large gatherings/families and set in a beautiful neighborhood. Clearly, the oversight property managers and/or cleaning staff have failed in bringing this property up to todays standards. It's dirty, furniture and bedding is worn/tired, decking is old and worn, windows and shades are dirty and many of the kitchen utensils/cookware needs to be replaced with new ones. To Destination Big Bear's credit, we did receive a full refund of our cleaning deposit, in addition to a partial refund on our rental fee given the disappointing state we found the cabin in when we first arrived. Property owners and managing partners would do themselves a world of good by investing some serious time and money in helping bring this 'potential VRBO gem' up to todays standards, cleaning/replacing worn and dirty furnishings, and giving the entire cabin some love and attention it badly deserves. One other note - they can begin by replacing the worn and ratty looking 'welcoming mat' that is there to greet each new guest! Good luck

For the price, not what we expected. Missing basic items, pool cues were all in poor condition (& no chalk), hot tub wasn't clean, and all small bedrooms and upstairs was a loft open to downstairs ( no door, not a bedroom by code).

For the price they charge you for this place, it was not worth it at all. The kitchen corners were filthy, i have pictures of it. The kitchen was not fully stocked as mentioned in the description. The oven door did not close all the way, food would not cook properly. The dishwasher is broken. None of the TVs in the house worked with cable. I called and they said it wa a the input or batteries in remote. It was neither. We tried trouble shooting for awhile and just gave up. The bed spreads were dirty and looked like they had not been washed. The children’s playhouse in the backyard was so disgusting and messy i couldn’t even let my kids go in there. We tried to bbq one night and the bbq was filthy and not cleaned properly. We checked out early because it was just not worth it. We have stayed in many VRBOs over the years, and was very disappointed in this property, especially during a pandemic where everything should be 10x as clean. I have complained to property manager and big bear destinations and have not heard back from either. Will be disputing charges with our credit card

Nice quite neighborhood. Beautiful cabin and well stocked. Close to everything (Village, lifts, etc...).
