Winter Harbor, Maine
Our rustic, but comfortable cabin in the charming village of Winter Harbor welcomes you with an expansive open ocean view from the front windows. We like to say that it is a $10,000 cabin with a $10,000,000 dollar view! The cabin is small but quaint and well-furnished on a private property. The view is nothing short of spectacular and features Mark Island Lighthouse and Acadia National Park's, Schoodic Peninsula coastline.
You can watch the Winter Harbor Yacht Club's sailing races, cruise ships crossing all hours of day/night and lobster boats hauling their traps (as a caution, sunrise comes early in the north, so lobster fisherman begin their day early; you will hear the diesel engines of their boats early each morning). The property offers a sea rose lined path to a private rocky beach. The cabin has been in the family for years and was initially built as a picnic spot for the original owner. The space is small, approximately 400sf for the cabin with an attached 500sf deck that faces the ocean. The space has an open front room that serves as the living room, dining room and kitchen. A small bedroom area with one full-size bed and a bathroom with a tiled shower. We have been working with Spectrum to get internet service, but have yet to secure the service. They are now saying early July. The weather this summer has been rainy during the month of June but even on a foggy day there is something comforting and romantic about the cabin. Please bear with us as we continue to work on the interior space! We look forward to hosting you.
Enjoyed a quiet stay in the cabin - very comfortable and you can’t beat the view and proximity to schoodic peninsula!
My now husband & I stayed at this location for a week for our honeymoon. We enjoyed it so much, very secluded & beautiful view!! Loved every minute of it
We absolutely loved the cottage and location. So peaceful and relaxing. It was exactly what I needed to unwind and relax. The boats going by, a lovely sea breeze, hearing the waves and cool night temperatures. I hope to be back another year. Thank you for a lovely stay!
We especially enjoyed our time on the deck watching the bustling harbor with it's lobster boats and sailboat races.
The cottage is very rustic but adorable. The view is fantastic! It was perfect for 2 people. I was not able to use my computer or telephone due to no cable, but actually, it was a nice change. I would definitely recommend the Sea Mint cottage and I would go back in a heartbeat.
Great view of the harbor and great location for exploring Schoodic Peninsula by bike or car. Convenient to Acadia National Park and all amenities in Winter Harbor. We had everything we needed for cooking and cleaning up. The deck doubles the small indoor space in fair weather so we enjoyed using it. The cabin is not suitable for the elderly due to size and placement of bed and placement of furniture. We experienced a number of problems during our 5 day stay, but communication with the owners was congenial, even fun. 1) Bathroom sink drain leaked onto the floor and we fixed it. 2)Toilet backed up once and we resolved the problem. 3) There was NO hot water in the shower. 4) We found the bed too small for 2 normal sized adults necessitating the purchase of a double size air mattress for one person to sleep on the living room floor. We would say this unit is best suited for one person or a young couple who do not mind cramped sleeping quarters. There was no Wifi during our stay, but cell service was adequate on the deck or road. Texting was sporadic. Sea Mint is in a beautiful spot owned by very nice people, but it needs some refinement. Most notably Hot Water in the shower.
Wonderful well outfitted Cabin. Owners very accomadating. Cabin was immaculate. Gorgeous view. Nice to sit on deck. Great location to explore Acadia. Winter Harbor quaint town.
