Check in was simple. After traveling 8.5 hrs to see family and prep for a small Thanksgiving dinner, we walked in to a musky odor. Go to use the restroom and the is pee all over the toilet, looks like it hadn't been cleaned in months. Go to use diet, same thing. Hair and pink mold all over the shower. The shower curtain is cover in soap scum. I was afraid to even touch it. The stove, over, fridge etc were filthy. When i day filthy, I MEAN FILTHY. The are cobb/ spider webs Everywhere. So we stayed at my parents house. Let our dogs stay at this place and went to let them out every 2 hours, as I didn't want them at my patents house due to my dad fighting cancer. They're was mold on the windows and seals, pot and pans and utensils still had egg, he's and straight funk on them. So DISGUSTING. I would not recommend this to anyone. EVER
The stay was fine, the first night the cabin was freezing it took forever for the bedroom to warm up. We had to use the blanket off the other bed to try to stay warm. After we got the temp up it was very pleasant. After a couple days we had an odor from the cabin but could not find where it was coming from. Finally the last night found black water in the washing machine and it smelled horrible, had to open the door to air it out. Tried to get the washing machine to empty but it wouldn't. Sent message in the AM and was offered a free night in the future, was really looking to get one night credit on the curent trip but that did not happen. Overall a nice quiet location and an enjoyable stay most of the time.
My co-worker and I were up for work. I can honestly tell you that big bear is the best “bang for the buck” in Franklin. I even called and extended for an additional day. Theses are truly great people that offer a great service.
Would definitely stay at this location again & would recommend to friends
