Palmer, Alaska
The Fiddle Creek Cabin offers all the amenities of home, only a short distance from some of the most popular recreation areas in Alaska!
Walk, ski, or bike from your cozy cabin door to the newly developed Government Peak trail system. Hike to the fireweed fields and waterfall or all the way to the summit on well-marked trails.
A 5-minute drive will take you to the Hatcher Pass public recreation area famous for a variety of activities: The fresh white snow is great for cross country and down hill skiing, snowboarding, snowmobiling, and snow-shoeing. Our 19.5 hours of daylight during the summer months provide opportunity for berry picking, fishing, bird watching, paragliding, sightseeing, golfing, or gold-panning! The Independence Mine State Historical Park is a must-see for visitors intrigued by Alaska's gold mining past.
After adventuring, return to your comfortable "base camp" in its quiet neighborhood at the foot of the mountain. Whether you like to heat up easy snacks or prepare seven-course meals, you can do it in the Fiddle Creek Cabins' modern kitchen. Outside, there's a BBQ grill and a fire pit with a breath-taking view of nearby mountains. Or you can relax inside with Netflix on the flat screen TV and Wi-Fi for all your devices. Enjoy hot showers and fresh clean towels and bedding to complete your rest!
Whether you are an avid outdoorsman or just traveling through the Palmer-Wasilla area looking for an overnight in our beautiful woods, The Fiddle Creek Cabin is for you. Just 10 miles from down-town Palmer or 20 miles from Wasilla, the cabin is available for one or more nights' stay.
THE ALASKAN MOUNTAINS ARE CALLING AND YOU MUST GO.
SEE YOU SOON!
We love this little, but so comfortable and unique cabin! We'd return in a minute!!
We enjoyed our stay and really liked the location.
Cabin was really well thought out and had everything we needed. We enjoyed the little creek that was next to the cabin. Although we were only at the cabin one night and passing through the area, if you were going to spend some time around the Palmer area, I would highly suggest this cabin. It's very near Government Peak and the Hatcher Pass Recreation areas that support a lot of outdoor activities.
Perfectly appointed. Spotless. Beautiful scenery.
The location of this property is great if you are visiting the Hatcher Pass area. Get any food you need before you get out here otherwise you will have to drive 20 minutes to get to a store other than a gas station to grab a sandwich. There are 2 gas stations nearby that have limited offerings. The cabin is really cute. The towels were fluffy and the kitchen had just what you need. The view is awesome and it is a safe, rural area. I really liked the decorations in the cabin. It was decent sized for myself, my husband, and our 18 year old son. My only criticism was the comfort of the beds. My son normally sleeps pretty hard and he complained about having trouble sleeping on the lower bunk. The queen bed wasn't great either. It was on a platform instead of a box spring. Overall, I really liked this well decorated and well built cabin, but wish the beds were more comfy.
Cabin is absolutely gorgeous! The view is gorgeous! We will definitely stay here again when we come back to Alaska!!!!
Welcome by local kids, they showed us around the property. They took us for a walk to the creek. Kids caught some fish and made new friends during the short stay.
Lovely cabin in beautiful location. Very well stocked and nicely detailed and furnished.
We stayed for just one night and I wish we would have had one more evening to enjoy the fire pit and outdoors. Beautiful cabin and well equipped.
We had a great stay at the fiddle creek cabin! Had everything we needed....was quiet. Perfect!
This cabin is wonderful! We loved everything about it. It was perfect for our family of four and we were very comfortable. We had great communication with the hosts. They were very friendly and made sure we had everything we needed. We would love to come back here one day!
This place was the perfect first stop for our two week trip in Alaska! It was peaceful listening to the bubbling creek and watching the fire we made each night. Heather even refilled our firewood for our last night, which made for an amazing last fire that inspired us to cook outside and completed a great stay! The cabin itself is adorable, and the screen door makes it seem like we were outside even when we were sitting on the comfy couch:)
Cute cottage beside a babbling brook. We enjoyed the outdoor fire pit! Great location if you want to hike in Hatcher’s Pass or visit some of the farms.
We had a great stay at the Fiddle Creek Cabin. I wish we could have stayed longer! What a beautiful property.
We thoroughly enjoyed this BEAUTIFUL place!!
Cutest little cabin in the woods, with everything we needed. Loved it. Perfect start to our latest Alaska adventure. Doug and Lori Ruffier
Cozy little cabin with everything you need. Close to the mountains and close enough to town to pick up the things you need.
clean, compact & cozy great setting
Cute, clean, perfect to cook simple meals. Rest stop for us transitioning from Denali area to south of Anchorage. Beautiful scenery, peaceful brook you can hear from front porch. Lots of hiking nearby.
The cabin was perfect. Clean and tidy with plenty of towels and bedding. Everything you could want and need.
We stayed at Fiddle Creek Cabin on our last night of a 15 day trip in Alaska. We were on our way back to Anchorage. This was the perfect way to end our vacation. We loved the babbling creek outside our door and the magnificent view of the mountain! We wish we had planned more time in the Palmer area as you get a glimpse of the Wrangel St Elias Mountains which are breath taking! The owner was attentive and we had the pleasure of meeting she and her two children. We will most definitely recommend the Fiddle Creek Cabin to any friends or family traveling through Palmer AK. As a side note, we did a quick Google search for restaurants before checking in and were pointed to the Noisy Goose. It was a cute diner, good food. We brought 2 slices of pie back for a late dessert. It was delicious! We joked that you know you are in Alaska when you eat at the Flying Squirrel (Talkeetna) in the morning and at the Noisy Goose (Palmer) in the afternoon. Both great choices. Thank you Heather and family! Don and Laurie
Our family stayed one night and appreciated this clean, comfortable cabin. There was much attention to detail in furnishing and cleaning this cabin. It was a pleasure to stay.
Awesome cute cabin!!
This was the last place my husband and I stayed during our 12 day trip. It was perfect! It had been storming so to come in and take a hot shower was perfect! And the water stays HOT for a while. Usually we only sleep in the rental and are out and about all day. With the weather, it was nice to stay in and watch Netflix (provided by the owner). The cabin was very clean, full service kitchen, comfortable bed. The only thing that would have been better…a moose in the yard. :) Highly recommend for couples or a small family!
The cabin offered everything we needed and the location was a great home base for excursions to this part of Alaska.
Great spot to unwind after days of exploring
We loved this cabin and the property it sits on. Picturesque surroundings with lots to explore. The cabin was perfect for our family of 4. It was very comfortable , clean and well furnished. We can’t wait to come back and stay here again.
