Great home and location for a week with our group of six.
This home is great. The setting with a clear view of the harbor, the large deck, large bedrooms, bunches is sleeping space - it is a great place to relax. It is also a convenient 2 minute drive from the ferry .
It was good for a weekend getaway for our friend group :) Everything is super old and the downstairs is creepy but the price and size was right and the view is incredible.
Ideal for a large group and groups with children. Very comfortable and peaceful location.
If you can hold off on judging the dirty carpet, a couple broken tiles and the state of the kitchen that greet you ...as well as the much needed refresh of the exterior stain... you'll appreciate and enjoy it. The view is everything and makes it worth it. We did not use the bottom floor but did not notice a damp, mold smell. The furniture upstairs was updated from the picture and extremely comfortable after a long day hiking and exploring! The house is solidly built and the decks are sturdy. The pictures were misleading. The house was clean as best could be expected with wooden counter tops however, the housekeeping missed some things in the kitchen so, we cleaned surfaces before use. The proximity to the ferry and ease of finding it was much appreciated. We loved seeing all the Wild rabbits that greeted us on our way in and out. Be forewarned this house has a lot of stairs and may be difficult for those with knee and Ada concerns. The lovely views from decks off 2 of the bedrooms was a bonus! Suggestions to owner; bare minimum... professionally clean the carpet, fix the broken tiles and replace the kitchen oven. Lose the plastic hangars placed behind the woodstove on the wall as art. This house is worth the peaceful, beautiful sunrises and sunsets! All In all we'd rent this place again!
The view is spectacular, and a forest surrounds the property for ultra privacy. But this property is very very dated and badly in need of much deferred maintenance. The kitchen faucet is a sprayer, not in a good way. The downstairs toilet requires you to straddle the corner of the shower to use. The upstairs bathroom requires you to ascend a staircase to enter or exit the shower, or to use the commode. Floor tiles are cracked and broken (watch your bare feet!), light switches are all in the oddest places (but at least labeled!), and the Welcome Book with all the information is totally out of date. On the plus size, it is big, easily sleeping 4 couples and even a couple more on futons, and the kitchen, while old in the tooth, is roomy. It fit our needs, but we felt is was extremely overpriced for it's condition.
A great property for accommodating large group. We found all we needed and enjoyed the different living spaces. Clean, not luxurious. Comfortable. A solid rental.
This property worked beautifully for our extended family reunion. It has lots of space and was very comfortable with an unbelievable view! As mentioned in previous posts, it could use a little maintenance here and there. But, personally, I would prefer the more affordable pricing and put up with its personality. We loved the island, too, with lots of beautiful hikes. I just wanted to mention that the 4th bedroom, listed as having a double bed with 2 singles, is actually a bunk bed (double below, single above) with a separate cove with the second single bed. The second single works well for an older child, teenager, or young adult who likes their own space that is actually separate from the bedroom. It's almost like a 5th bedroom but probably can't be listed as that since it's technically not a room.
Very peaceful with an awesome view from many locations with in the house! Enough space for everyone to have there privacy.
This is clearly a large family vacation home. Ideal for active grandparents/parents/school-age children/older toddlers. It has the beds, the chairs/tables, the separation of space needed for an extended family to visit. Not fancy, if you like fancy, but very comfortable. Lots of steps/levels outside and within the house - not reduced-mobility friendly so it will not work for those who can't do steps. The view out the main back deck is amazing - water view between trees. Very quiet here, and though it is walking-distance to the ferry, it is a 20 minute drive to the main-street area of Eastsound. The kitchen really could use some additional general cooking tools (mixing bowls of varied sizes, spatulas, small tongs etc) - the choice is pretty sparse and the pots and pans really need to be upgraded. More plastic deck chairs would be nice too, and a couple small side tables for the deck as well. A great place for the right type of guests! We would stay here again.
