Waterville, Pennsylvania
Our rustic cabin is nestled in the town of Waterville within walking distance to everything the town has to offer. The cabin is bordered by the stocked trout waters of the Little Pine Creek in the back and the beautiful Pine Creek Rail Trail on the side. Views of both the creek and the rail trail bridge are enjoyed from the back deck. We provide propane, a gas grill, a gas Blackstone griddle, and a stocked pile of firewood to enjoy the fire pit in the backyard. 6 folding lounge chairs are provided as well as 6 Adirondack chairs all for use on the deck, around the fire, or sitting by the creek.
Fishing, kayaking, and tubing can be enjoyed on the Little Pine, or you may take the short walk down the street and use the public easement to access the Pine Creek.
Walking from the cabin you can easily get to the Waterville Tavern, McConnells General Store and the beautiful Waterville community park.
Little Pine State Park and the Haneyville ATV Trails are both just a short drive from Waterville, as well as the numerous access points along the Pine Creek for fishing, kayaking & tubing.
This cabin is rustic in feel however it does have running water as well as a full bathroom. We also provide reliable high speed internet and a streaming TV complete with Comcast cable TV in the living room. You will also enjoy the peace of mind provided by our automatic whole-house generator for any power outages.
The location of the cabin is also great for attending Penn State home games if you're looking for an affordable stay outside of state college. Beaver Stadium is 55 miles away and easily accessed by Route 220/I-80. We are happy to help with any Penn State questions regarding tickets, parking, tailgating etc!
Cell phone service varies depending on carrier and is very spotty, however there is a house landline that is available for use. Also, the convenient location of the property also means that it is close to Route 44, so if vehicle noise is a problem for you please be aware of that.
An electronic liability waiver will be required to be signed prior to arrival due to the location to natural body of water.
Security cameras are located outside the house due to the remote nature of the location. They will not be monitored unless there is an issue.
If you’re looking for a cabin close to everything, this is your stay. You can easily walk to the Waterville Hotel right out of the door, and the country store is right by the property too! We stayed with our 4 year old son, and the convenience of having the rail trail and the beautiful park in the back was wonderful! The cabin was cozy, and we loved the comfy couches, and watching the stream from the living room. Our son also enjoyed the games and legos. The bedrooms are small, so if you’re going with a group, keep that in mind. Also, some lamps would be nice in the bedrooms instead of the overhead bright lights later at night, and maybe some hooks in the bigger bedroom to help offset not having a closet, but other than that, the property was great for us.
Great location to Rails/Trails, Tavern and General Store.
We enjoyed biking on the trail and going to the Lake.
Nephew was playing and we were only a 25 minute drive away. Very quiet and great location
We had a great time at this cabin. Enjoyed the deck overlooking the creek. Access to the bike trail could not be closer. Fishing is available from the back yard. Enjoyed cooking on the Blackstone grille. Family time at the fire pit.
It was clean and well stocked. Beds were not very comfy but overall we had a nice time. Check in was very easy. Creek is 30 feet away was nice for fishing.
Lovely location, convenient location, nice to be near the corner store. Near the highway but with ac in the house we never had an issue with noise. The location is right on the creek which is a huge bonus. Very relaxing to sit by the fire at night and hear the creek. Literally 20 feet from the rail trail!
Fantastic location right on the trail and the water. The beds were comfortable, the bathroom was nicely appointed, and the kitchen was well-furnished. The reclining lounge chairs were just what we needed after biking in The Grand Canyon of Pennsylvania. We'd certainly stay here again!
Exactly as listed. Communication was great with owner.
This cozy cabin along the creek was the perfect Pine Creek retreat. Jason did a great job on making this place a comfortable stay. The living area has a beautiful view of the creek (which was all the way into the backyard this weekend)! The Waterville Tavern is next door for a quick meal. The pellet stove was perfect to anneal my body after a hard day on the trail. I hope to stay here again! Thank you.
Great location and responsive owner. The Waterville tavern was across the street and had excellent food and service. A beautiful family friendly park was steps away. Jason cares about your guest experience evident in his communication and well stocked home. We will be back!
Had a great weekend
Location was awesome and the cabin had all that we needed and more.
Jason's place is great! Especially if you want the feeling of being tucked away without being far from everything. The house was clean and stocked with all the utensils. Loved you had cast iron skillets! I had perfect service in the home and outside. The restaurant across the st was perfect loved the drunken fish meal & the little convenience store down the road isn't big but they had everything we forgot to bring. There's the best park right there to( zip line, basketball, tennis, soccer and more. The trail right next to us was lovely too. Bring your bikes! We all very much enjoyed the fire pitt everynight looking at stars. I have nothing but positive reviews all around.
It was very nice. Loved that we could hop on the Pine Creek Rail Trail from the house. We had a nice relaxing couple of days. It was nice to have a restaurant and a country store within walking distance. The property owner was very helpful and answered questions quickly.
We really enjoyed our stay! My fiancé loved it so much that 10mins into being there he shared he wanted to return yearly. Super cute and large enough to accommodate a family comfortably. The location is the best as it’s next to what I consider the only place for food and drink in the town. Interestingly enough, the Alexa and Google Homes really made us feel at home as we rely on these devices for news, recipes, and music. We’ll be back for sure!
Nice and cozy spot, close to the river. Deck and fire pit were the best parts.
Best cabin over ever been to definitely great it’s right on the water. Loved being able to cookout and hangout with friends
My friends and I had a fun getaway weekend, and we couldn't have picked a better spot. We were so close to the rail trail, hiking trails, a little tavern, a country store, and still felt like we were far away from the busyness of real life - it was just what we wanted. The house had everything we needed to cook our own food, relax outside, and chill inside with a movie. Easy communication with owners, clean, and easy check in/out. I would stay again.
We just enjoyed a nice weekend at this location. The unit was clean and the owner responsive with communication. You can tell several updates are in progress but the kitchen/bath in particular are nice. Wifi worked well, important because as the owner stated cell service in the area is pretty poor. There is a landline for communication if needed. Right next to a very nice section of rail trail (62mile) for walking/biking. There is a decent restaurant across the street and a general store a block away for quick needs. Overall a peaceful area which fit us nicely.
Everything was ready for us, it was super easy to get settled in. Place was well appointed, with a new kitchen and bathroom. Wi-Fi was a nice touch as well. Plenty of outdoor furniture to use. Nice new gas grill, and flat-top, both were in excellent shape. Proximity to the Waterville Hotel and McConnell's general store was also very cool and convenient. Thanks for having us!
What a wonderful experience. Easy to access - great location. Fun park nearby, even had a new pickle ball court and zip line. Close to many area attractions. We enjoyed sitting on the deck and watching birds, especially the Eagles.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this cottage. The cottage has the rustic charm we were looking for when choosing a place to spend a few days, with many of the modern conveniences we're accustomed to. Our host was very accommodating and even offered us an early check in time on the day of our arrival. There are so many beautiful places and things to explore in this area, having a comfortable, convienent place to stay makes the entire experience perfect. Thanks for having us. Jim and Michele
The owner was more than helpful and never hesitated to answer my questions immediately. We are thinking about returning next year.
