Great host and vey relaxing place for a weekend getaway

Peaceful stay

It’s a nice place but it’s by a high traffic road and it was noisy. Also it’s not a good fishing spot. Very shallow water even as we went out a few yards in a row boat.

Everything was great, no complaints!

The host and hostess were warm and welcoming. The amenities were adequate.I would suggest adding one more sauce pan. But we made do.We especially enjoyed building a fire in the fire pit for s'mores and just some time around the fire.

All was good and simple to access. Was good for our quick stay.

A/c was nice and cold . The host was very helpful. Everything went good.

When we made our reservation in mid September, we wrote that we were looking to fish, kayak, and do some boating. What appealed to us is that the lake was a 30 sec walk from the door. We expected to fish right there. We were going to use the Jon Boat that was at the camp. When we were a few miles out from the camp and we texted to say we were near, that is when we found out that the lake had been lowered and the water level was low. The water by the camp was very low. The egrets were walking in ankle deep water. The minnows were the only fish plentiful off the dock and only small fish that could tolerate the low water level. What could they have done better? They could have notified us ahead of time to let us know about the water level change and that the activities we planned would be difficult. And yes, there is a road right next to the site and cars went over all the time. It was very obvious since we were not fishing. On a good note, the air conditioner worked very well. Nice and cool on the inside of the cabin. We slept well. The Roku TV was handy to catch baseball playoff games and football. The hosts were very nice and responsive. We had trouble working the TV and they quickly came to help. They made the Jon boats available to us, but we did not feel that the boat would do well with three people in it and not hit bottom. We were able to take the kayaks out. Would we stay there again? No.

We needed a few days to just get away and be quiet and this was perfect. It is only 2 miles out of Onalaska so whatever you need or forgot is handy, but the location still seems secluded. Wi-Fi and Roku TV included and while rustic, the cabin very quiet and the air conditioning kept things cool. Mornings enjoyed sipping coffee on the deck, watching the wildlife and just relaxing. Location within 30 minutes of the state park which was a very nice day trip.

We really enjoyed the weekend. The hosts are nice and friendly. The property is right on the lake. Thank you. We will plan a return trip in the future.

Cabin very close to major, noisy highway. Front door had only a knob lock, no dead bolt. Brought our dog who loves the water, that part of Lake Livingston not very clean, she had a ton of stickers in her fur after swimming, FYI. Workers began working on cabin next door with electric saws, hammers, etc. at 7:30am, very noisy. On the plus side the AC worked well and cabin had everything you need, plates, utensils, soap, paper products, spices. Host very nice, we left early, they gave us a partial refund.

Everything we needed in cabin and everything worked. Very nice stay and well cared for. Hosts were excellent. Will stay again.

The Cabin was easy to find and was exactly as it was described on the listing. Made for a great experience with extremely comfortable beds and couches.

Clean and cozy cabin right on the lake. Owners were super friendly! We booked a pontoon boat ride.

It was a bit old, but it was comfortable and had everything we needed.

Nice property. Manager wonderful, met needs, helpful, friendly and made the place a community feel. Cabin well stocked, more than other places. Close to the town which was good. Didn't realize that it would be fairly near the road and cabins close together but not a problem sleeping or sitting on the deck. Friendliness would make me go back again!!

We had a great stay. The owners and very nice and checked in to make sure we had everything we needed. The campgrounds are clean and user friendly. The kids enjoyed the swimming and we all enjoyed the fishing.
