Beautiful cozy cabin. Everything was very clean. Wood for the fireplace would have topped the cake.

This is the perfect little cabin for a small family getaway. The unique location and the amenities offered by the hosts made for a beautiful, quiet, family vacation. Easy hot springs access, BV, Salida close by for shopping or dining out. The cabin is nicely situated by the river and the skylights over the bed were gorgeous for stargazing. Would stay here again and again!

The best stay in the mountains!! This cabin was just perfect for our weeks stay. Very close to many hiking and jeep trails. We stay in this area a lot but this was our first time to stay in this cabin. Such a peaceful setting and it offers everything you could need for a family getaway. We definitely hope to stay here again-it was everything you would want in a mountain getaway.

We had the most amazing and peaceful time at this cabin by the creek. Katie and Curt were wonderful host. It’s an exceptional time when you arrive strangers but leave as friends. The cabin was clean, comfortable and cozy. It’s close enough to the town of Buena Vista but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of traffic and noise. It’s everything that is described and more. I think I found my sanity and my home away from home when I visit the area. Love this place and we will be back for more adventures!! The cherry on top was the skylight in the master bedroom where we were able to see the stars at night.

Our stay was nothing short of perfect. Katie and Curt greeted us when we arrived and they were gracious hosts. The cabin was immaculate. The kitchen was spacious, the beds were cozy and the shower was great! We enjoyed the outdoor fireplace 2 nights and had fun making smores. It's a short walk to a beautiful creek. We enjoyed listening to the sounds of the water when we had our morning coffee. The last morning of our stay we were visited by a mama deer and her fawn. The location is remote, which was perfect for us. I recommend coming to the cabin with your supplies, as it's a bit of a drive to get to a store and as soon as you arrive you just want to unplug and relax in the gorgeous surroundings.

This is our second time staying at this property and it was every bit as wonderful as we remembered! We came up for the 4th of July weekend to get away from all the crazy fireworks and loud noises in our neighborhood, and the peace and the quiet were exactly what the doctor ordered! Loved being able to sit Down by the River on the sSwing, or up on the deck and watch the hummingbirds! The beds were comfy, the shower hot, and the cabin had everything we could need! This is the place to come when you need peace and quiet and to be able to connect with nature! Town is a little bit of a drive away, but that's okay, and if anybody was interested in being social for the 4th of july, Buena Vista throws a great party! The best part was being able to bring our fur babies a long, it is so hard to leave them at home when we go on our little trips, and we really appreciate the owners willingness to accommodate them!

We loved our short stay at the cabin in the woods. We loved the fireplace and the location. The master bedroom is amazing! Bed was great and the skylights were awesome. The location is so close to so many trails in the area. We would stay again for sure. Host were very accommodating and good with communication.

Spent 4 nights in mid-August and thoroughly enjoyed it! Katie is a gracious host, answering questions before arrival and greeting us with a quick overview when we checked in. She and her husband Curt live in the house next door, but you would never know it. Nice to know they are close by in case something is needed. The cabin is fully equipped, from the kitchen, living room, bedroom, bathroom and outdoors. Wi-Fi is fantastic, as no cell service was noted by us. Enjoyed a doe and her two fawns each evening around happy hour. Chalk Creek borders the back of the property and is very soothing. Don't miss the nearby ghost town of St. Elmo or a leisurely hike along the Railroad Trail (starts just east of the Cascade Campground). If you like picnics, the Iron City Campground (St. Elmo) has nicely shaded tables along Chalk Creek. We definitely recommend this property!

We absolutely loved our stay at the cabin in Nona's Woods! The rustic cabin is exactly what we were looking for and it was all we hoped it would be...and then some. It was quiet, close to the Chalk Creek, deep in the woods, lots of stars, cool temperatures at the Cabin's elevation. No light pollution at night so you can really get a great view of the stars and the Milkey Way. Many great hiking trails within the forest near the cabin plus a short drive to a historic mountain ghost town. We brought a lot of food with us and had most meals at the cabin which was great for our family of four adults. The outdoor grill came in very handy. Our hosts were gracious, helpful, and kind. They were close when needed but gave us the space we needed to feel like we were home in their cabin! I can't say enough good things about our stay and experiences. I miss being there already. We will be back!

This is such a charming cabin. Very quiet and historical area. You can hear Chalk Creek passing by below and view, not only the natural landscape, but also the way the owners maintain the property with care and appeal.
