Unwind at Whispering Woods / Hot Tub, Waterfall, Arcade & Nature

I WOULD RECOMMEND ANYONE TO STAY AT THIS BEAUTIFUL CABIN ALL WE HAD TO DO WAS GET FOOD. IT WAS SO PEACEFUL. JUST TO SET ON THE BACK PORCH AND WATCH THE ANIMAL. I WOULD STAY AGAIN

Love the generous space throughout the property. Grandkids loved the arcade games and Tv room in the lower level. Everyone enjoyed a game of pool and the hot tub.

It’s a great cabin next to an amazing National Treasire. 4x4 suggested but not required. My brothers Toyota Corolla made it up there.

We really enjoyed this place. The location was nice and secluded (with a gorge and waterfall behind it!) but close enough for everything we wanted to do in RRG - Southeast Mountain Guides, Underground Gorge, Skylift, and lots of hikes. The cabin was clean and comfortable enough, and stocked with all the basics we needed to make dinners in. Our four teenagers were endlessly entertained with the pool table, hot tub and arcade games, and enjoyed lounging in the two TV areas. Plus the drive in and out was fun, with water crossings and steep hills.

The cabin is great! Very clean upon arrival. The drive up was pretty treacherous. Glad we had 4 wheel drive to make it through the creek and up the steep hills. Would be nice to have an instruction book for the air/heat units, but other than that, everything was great! Thank you for a sweet, quick trip for our family.

Directions to the cabin were not good for arrival after dark. We had to ask for enough sheets and towels for all guests. Beds have crinkly protectors on them that made a good night sleep difficult. Despite this, the cabin is beautiful. The kitchen is well appointed and there was tons to do in the cabin. Definitely MUST have 4 wheel drive to get there! Take your own water as the well water is highly sulfuric.

Every year we escape to the Red River Gorge for a short getaway. It’s one of our favorite places to hike and enjoy the local scene.This year we chose Whispering Woods based on its amenities and location. In those respects, it did not disappoint. The property is quiet, beautiful, and close to attractions. The home offers great family-friendly features, including games, arcade machines, a pool table, and a hot tub.Upon arrival, we had trouble with the door code and contacted staff, who responded promptly and fixed the issue. However, when we entered the home, it was extremely cold. With outside temperatures in the low 20s, all seven mini-splits were set to air conditioning at 60 degrees. My wife and I went room to room adjusting each unit.The heating system repeatedly shut off, and during this time the internet breaker tripped twice and the kitchen electrical breaker also tripped, requiring multiple resets. We contacted staff several times and received varying explanations—missing batteries in remotes, linked units needing the same temperature, and one upstairs unit being on a linked system. A technician was eventually offered, and after continued troubleshooting we were able to get the heat working, though it continued cycling on and off.While the home itself is nice and well-equipped, the ongoing heating issues during cold weather significantly impacted our stay and were ultimately not worth the hassle.

Had a great trip! Cabin was well equipped and had plenty of activities for the kids to enjoy very secluded and quite with beautiful scenery!

Very nice multi level cabin in the woods. Lots of exploring to do in the area. Cabin felt brand new very spacious for our whole family. Communication with host was very friendly and easy making sure that my family and i had everything we needed and enjoyed. Definitely need all wheel drive to get in and out of driveway. Will recommend to everyone.

Very happy with our stay. Had a few minor questions and Kenyata was on top of it. Beautiful area and cabin. You do need a 4 wheel drive to get to property. Secluded and quiet.

This cabin was beautiful and very clean. The road to the cabin could definitely use more stone. It was extremely bumpy and the steap hill way pretty rough full of pot holes. We didn't mind driving thru the creek but the one part was hard to not scrape even in my SUV. I will say tho, I was disappointed that the cabin was listed as a 4 bedroom. But there was no true 4th bedroom. They count the movie room with the pull out couch as the 4th bedroom. That mattress was not very comfy so my son just slept on the couch upstairs. Also, my only other complaint is how cold the house was. Even with the heater on as high as it would go, the dining room/ kitchen was pretty chilly and the downstairs by the pool table was very cold. Over all the cabin was very nice and the area was quiet. Nice and relaxing to get away.

The cabin is very nice. You definitely need a an all wheel drive vehicle to get to the property. Our host Kenyata was very helpful.

The property has a LOT of pros, as outlined in the online description. ( Loved the Pac-Man and pool table, and comfortable upstairs tv room.) The cons for us were as follows: 1) we are all mid 60’s and the steep stairs going up to TV room and down to basement were taxing. 2) There was zero signage letting us know when we turned onto Cable Rd how to get to the cabin. And it’s tucked way back in there. We had to stop along the way and ask 2 people. 3) New (sleeping/head) pillows for the beds would be a great investment for the owners. The ones currently are way too flat. 4) more clothes hangers would be a plus, too, as there are no drawers to unpack anything and little shelving. 5) a shelf in the basement bathroom would be very helpful to put toiletry bags. 6) Lastlt, we were under the impression there were 4 BEDROOMS, as stated online. There are actually only 3 bedrooms with additional space available for sleeping in the two tv areas on the couches.

Fantastic place— wish I could have stayed the week. Two things: when they mention vehicle suggestions, they mean it ! The second hill is ok for AWD and such but I wouldn’t attempt in anything low clearance. Also, some minor cleaning products (more dish towels, etc. ) would be helpful. Brilliant place to be though!
