Stayed Nov 7, 2025The host was very welcoming. The amenities had everything you needed for a couple days away from home. Absolutely beautiful property. The owner’s dogs said hello and were very friendly and well behaved.

Stayed Aug 8, 2025Fantastic location and property. Tucked away nicely but not too hard to get to in the summer. Bring a hammock, sit around the fire pit and enjoy the quiet. Be prepared for Bart the dog to be your porch pal, but he is extremely friendly. There's a gate if you need separation or have a pet that needs space. Our blue heeler and Bart got along great so no need for us to use it. House setup is good for 4 people. We were traveling with another couple and had plenty of privacy. 1 bedroom is closer to the bathroom so we put the heavier sleepers there. Kitchen and bath were both well stocked and equipped. We will stay again next summer! Thank you.

Stayed Jul 13, 2025We loved our time at the Outpost! Close to all of the fun at Ohiopyle, but still secluded and utterly peaceful. The cabin was just what the 5 of us needed, and our dog enjoyed his time there, too. Visits from the friendly neighbor dogs made everything even more welcoming.

Stayed Jul 9, 2025We had a wonderful time at the Outpost. It was perfectly located to Ohiopyle, Youghiogheny River Lake, and Laurel Caverns. We spent many evenings at the beautiful cabin just enjoying the many deer and turkey that roamed around. The highlight for us was the daily visits from Bart and Sofi -the neighbors labradors who where a wonderful welcome committee. We highly recommend The Outpost!

Stayed Jun 30, 2025Loved the property. Quiet, great porch and pavilion by the ponds. Dry firewood was provided. Had problems with the tv but wifi was good. There's no dishwasher but didn't mind washing dishes. Could have used a dish drainer, though. Remember, you're in the woods with all the little critters. Loved having the neighbor's dogs come and visit. They were very friendly and loving.

Stayed May 20, 2025This cabin was just as advertised. The road in is a bit steep, but the property itself is absolutely gorgeous, remote, and private - just what i was looking for. Despite the sense of isolation, food and basic necessities for a short stay are only a few miles away. Wifi connectivity was excellent, the beds were extremely comfortable, and the fire place made for a perfect rustic feel. My favorite part of my stay was the nearby ponds on the property and the chorus of wood frogs and spring peepers that lulled me to a magical sleep. I had the good fortune of meeting the owner and her ultra friendly dog Bart, I just can't rate this property high enough. If you are looking for an ideal location to stay in the Laurel Highlands that provides the best combination of location, modern convenience, and a truly rural setting, this is the jackpot right here.

Stayed Jan 2, 2025This cabin was just as advertised, and perfect for our family. We were looking for some winter isolation, and found it at the Outpost. The fireplace was great, the arrangement was perfect for family games in front of the fire or at the table, the kitchen had what we needed, and the beds were comfortable. The owners were very responsive to a few questions we had, and we enjoyed saying hello to their two very friendly dogs who stopped by. We would stay there again, summer or winter.

Stayed Oct 7, 2024I am giving an impartial review. I met the owner of the property and spoke with his wife. They were friendly. 1. The water pressure was extremely dismal and we could hardly bathe. They attributed the problem to a new well they had drilled for the property where we stayed. When they fixed it the pressure was fine but the water was brownish in color. 2. The TV reception was dismal as they told me they have fiber optic cable. The remote was extremely slow to respond and we never watched TV. 3. The property had a Keurig coffee maker but no Decaf coffee. 4. I had to purchase a bar of soap as they had bathing to respond.

Stayed Jul 3, 2024We stayed at this cabin over July 4th and it was wonderful! It was very clean and comfortable. The setting is very quiet and peaceful, sitting on the porch was so relaxing! The dogs were the best; Bart and Sophie came to visit often which we loved! Susan was wonderful to deal with and very responsive. Thank you for a lovely stay!

Stayed Jul 11, 2024We really enjoyed our stay with a 4 and 2 year old boy and an almost one year old pup! Bart was so sweet and had a wonderful influence on our mini Aussie. Great central location to many activities. I would love to come back for a winter experience!
