Had a great stay. Cabin has lots of character. Fishing was good. Caught some nice smallmouth bass, Largemouth and Northern Pike. Great lake for swimming also.

Not a bad cabin, but other cabins on each side less than 10 feet away, no designated parking, and someone came out upset over where we were parked because “that’s usually where they park”?? Front door opens up IN the bathroom, so you have to walk through the bathroom to get in and out of the front of the cabin, and beach is a few cabins over. A little disappointing, cabin was decent. A deep cleaning hadn’t been done in quite some time, cobwebs and the such around. Just not worth quite as much money and we paid. The boats and paddleboard were fun though.

First of all the property wasn't listed correct with the correct directions to it. Then it was hard to get a hold of the owner to get the correct directions. When I did get ahold of him he had said that he had emailed me directions and other instructions. We never received such email. We had to contact him for correct directions not once but twice. Being unfamiliar with the area was to our disadvantage. The cabin itself was Charming. The beach that was in the resort was awesome the playground area was really nice our kids had a blast and played from sunup till sundown. The fishing was awesome. We rented a pontoon boat to take our family out, with Dave Rents Boats in Eagle River who has a 5-star rating with Google and we agree. Dave was super nice and accommodating he brought the boat right to us and picked it up. Over all a great week with our family.

This is a wonderfully quirky cabin in a great little community with direct lake access. We had 4 in our group (2 adults, 2 kids ages 6 and 9) and could have added a few more. However access to the loft and bedroom is by ladder - this was no problem at all for us but families with elderly members may need to factor in sleeping arrangements on the 1st floor for them (2 full size beds plus a futon to choose from on the 1st floor though). Showering may be tougher for older family members - the clawfoot tub is really cool but slippery and would be tough to get in and out of for anyone with mobility restrictions It was no trouble for our family though. The ladder stowed away safely and was too heavy for our kids to move so no concerns there. Sunrise out the front bedroom window was stunning! Huge success fishing walleye and bass on the other side of the lake - even still found bluegill up on beds, but other residents said some years the water is not high enough to allow you to cross to that side. Water on the cabin side of the lake was clear and beautiful for swimming, not as good for fishing. Some water skiers and jet skiers but not overly crowded at all. Great sandy beach right on property. Easy boat launch there too. We docked our boat right in front of the cabin. Cabin was well equipped with dishes, towels and all we needed. Kitchen is small (it should be in a cabin!) but space was really efficiently used and we cooked in or grilled out all meals with no trouble. Neighbors were really friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Day trip to Bond Falls and up to Ontonagon was great too. In total, great cabin, great lake, great community!

Our group of 6-9 friends has been returning to the Birchwood Cabin for years because it makes the perfect headquarters for our annual North Woods get-away. It's everything you want in a cabin - cozy, comfy, rustic (but not TOO rustic), fun, and in a great location. We've never been there in the summer, but in the winter, it's a snowy wonderland with great skiing right out the door on the lake. The sauna and wood stove are delightful and the kitchen is sufficient for cooking up our big feasts. The place is by no means large or grand...that's not the point...but for a group of 8 or less, it's perfect. The owner is delightful and responsive and easy to work with, and the price is totally reasonable.
