Trout Cove Cabin - Fish, Hike & Relax all in one setting just North of Decorah

Quiet, cozy cabin located near a large field and stream. Great for people looking to disconnect and get away for a weekend.

Great cabin in a quiet area next to a river. Enjoyed fishing, even though we didn't catch anything. Loved the sound of the river which could be heard when we were having a fire. Quaint cabin, reminded me of our family cabin we used to have. Communication from Brendon was great. We had a wonderful time and would definitely come back.

I liked the abundance of wildlife including deer, eagles, barred owls, flycatchers, dragonflies and butterflies. I did not like the bright light on the property that we could not turn off as I was there to watch the meteor shower. However, the light was close enough to a tree I was able to wander into the trees shadow to enjoy.

Nice place to stay, will definitely book again. The only thing is maybe some solar lights on the steps.

Host was great! House was not as nice as we had hoped. It was a little dirty when we arrived. I had to vacuum floor and clean off countertops. Ladybugs crawling all over everywhere inside.No outside porch light we could find, so we had to use flashlights coming and going early morning and evening.

We had a wonderful time at this cabin. It’s located in the perfect spot for fly fishing and was quiet and secluded. The property was beautiful and the inside of the cabin was cozy. We would highly recommend and will stay here again!

Not very happy with stay. Grill not in very shape and could not use. Not very clean. Will not go there again.

The cabin fit our needs perfectly. We got up and went for a long walk on the trails in the morning and sat outside on the covered deck and played cards in the afternoon. Plenty of room for everyone to meet up and spend quality family time together between events.

The cabin was perfect for our fishing trip. We enjoyed watching the turkey and deer as we watched the sunset on the covered deck.

The cabin was great, perfect size for the four of us. Good distance from other trout streams and good food/drink. The cabin overall was good, clean, and comfortable! Would recommend staying there.

Love the location and distance from town to do activities with our family. Was above and be on handle cook a meal as a family. And love that all the items with cookware was at this location. That’s a plus, with a family. The accommodations were above our expectations! Great getaway if you love nature.

This is our second stay at this location. The property and area is wonderful. If you’re looking for a quiet spot to getaway for a few days and don’t require fancy accommodations, this is for you. However, I would love to see a few updates made to this cabin. Our backs are so sore from sleeping on the outdated mattress in the main bedroom. It’s time to think about bringing in a new one, as well as new sheets. They’re so ratty and pilled! Very scratchy on the skin. The coffee took over one hour to brew and doesn’t stay warm because the heating plate is totally roasted. Please get a new coffee maker, they’re pretty cheap. Can something be done about all the annoying gnats on the porch? Maybe have someone come out and spray the property. We could barely enjoy ourselves outside. Okay, other than that, great stay, and we’ll probably come back once the bed has been updated. We can bring our own coffee pot. ;)

Absolutely wonderful. Very peaceful quiet place, close to Canoe creek for fishing. I will be back. Went with son in law and he stated he will bring his family up there. Loved the fact that it was a dark area so stars at night were amazing. Lots of wildlife to see, even got to meet neighbors dog, which we named Ralph, very well trained and friendly.

The property was exactly what we were looking for---private and peaceful with plenty of indoor and outdoor space for our family of 3. The host Brendon was very responsive and provided detailed instructions for the check-in and check-out process. The cabin is fully equipped with everything you need and the carport was nice to protect our vehicle from the elements.
