Set at the very top of a private road, surrounded by 18 acres of completely undeveloped land, this modern cedar log cabin offers a level of privacy, quiet, and elevation that is rare in the Asheville area.

The name Top of the Line reflects both the cabin’s position at the very top of a private road — with nothing above it but sky and mountains — and the kind of experience it offers: premium, thoughtfully designed, yet never overdone. The cabin sits at the highest point on the ridge, with year-round long-range views and a peacefulness guests consistently describe as unforgettable. And yet, downtown Asheville is only 20 minutes away; close enough that you can catch an Uber or Lyft.

Inside, the cabin opens to a bright, modern living space with 18-foot ceilings, expansive windows, and panoramic views across rolling farmland and layered Blue Ridge Mountains. The atmosphere is calm and uncluttered — natural light, quiet surroundings, and thoughtful design create a sense of ease from the moment you walk in.

One of the most loved features of the home is the remarkable kitchen, designed for guests who enjoy cooking and gathering. It’s fully equipped for real meals — not just simple vacation cooking, but full holiday spreads. Guests who stay for holidays consistently comment on how easy it is to prepare and serve a complete feast here. The kitchen has quality cookware, sharp knives, ample prep space, and everything needed for breakfast, dinner, or a multi-course celebration.

The kitchen opens directly to the living area, so you never feel isolated while cooking. A full-length bar that seats four faces the kitchen, creating the perfect entertainment layout: guests can sit, talk, sip wine, and keep the cook company while meals come together. Because, as always seems to happen, people gravitate toward the kitchen — and this cabin is designed for exactly that.

Just off the kitchen, a private back deck with a gas grill offers a separate, tucked-away space for cooking outdoors. It’s easy to step between the kitchen and the private grilling deck, and its secluded layout makes it a natural gathering spot — a place where friends or family can hang out, talk, and enjoy the mountain air while grilling dinner. Whether it’s steaks, vegetables, or part of a holiday meal, this space adds a whole dimension to the cabin’s cooking and entertaining experience.

The living room is also home to a feature that has earned the cabin a loyal following among music lovers: a true in-wall 7.1 surround-sound system. It creates an immersive listening experience that guests consistently describe as extraordinary. Several repeat visitors return, in part, because the audio quality is that good — whether you’re watching a film, listening to music, or simply enjoying the atmosphere of the space. A built-in gas fireplace adds warmth and comfort without any fuss.

Step outside onto the wraparound deck and watch hawks and eagles rise on morning thermals. See the sky shift through every color at sunrise and sunset. At night, the stars appear in numbers you may not have seen in years. The fully private 6-person hot tub sits on the deck, offering an indulgent place to unwind above the mountains. Wander the private road and trails, explore native plants and wildflowers, and listen to the spring-fed stream that flows behind the cabin.

The home is beautifully done without being overdone — comfortable, modern, and immaculately maintained. The layout is ideal for couples, families, or small groups. The Loft Suite is a fully enclosed, private king bedroom with its own door, skylights, ceiling fan, full bath, and an office nook. Two additional bedrooms on the main level — one king, one queen — share a second full bath. Every space feels intentional, peaceful, and designed for real comfort.

Although the cabin feels wonderfully private, you are not alone in the wilderness. Two other cabins sit farther down the same private road — about 250 and 500 feet away — far enough to feel distant and unobtrusive, yet close enough to offer a sense of reassurance. In winter, you may glimpse them through the trees, but none sit above you, and none intrude on the cabin’s peaceful, elevated setting.

Free WiFi (500 mbps), washer/dryer, central heating and air, and a well-maintained driveway make the cabin comfortable and easy to enjoy.

Stairs are required for access, and 4WD is needed only during winter snow.

Pets must be approved in advance; the Vrbo system will automatically add the pet fee when pets are indicated at booking.

This cabin is for guests who value privacy, quiet, and a truly elevated mountain experience — a place where the views are endless, the air is mountain-fresh, and the setting feels like a retreat all its own.

The drive up to this cabin seemed like it would never end….because the cabin is at the very top!! What a view!! Our family had a wonderful time….the cabin was so comfortable and even decorated for the holidays, we all enjoyed the hot tub and it was an easy 20 minutes drive intro the heart of Asheville.

We had a great time! The house is family friendly, clean and well stocked. The host is a pleasure to work with. So much attention to detail. The views are breathtaking. We really enjoyed sitting out on the porch in the morning and evenings. We look forward to another visit.

Very nice quiet location. The cabin was very well equipped with everything you could imagine. Spectacular views of the Smoky Mountains. Not too far from Asheville and the Biltmore estates.

Really enjoyable stay. We especially enjoyed the deck with views over the valley, perfect for morning coffee and relaxing at sunset. The cabin had everything we needed, including extra towels for the hot tub, plus extras like water bottles for hiking, games, and a nice selection of books. Really appreciated how responsive our host was. Location was just right for a mountain holiday with easy access to the city.

The property was beautiful. Deep in the woods and nice and quiet with a gorgeous view. Loved our stay here and would definitely rebook here again when we come to Ashville again. It was so close to downtown didn't even have to jump on a highway to get there. So much to do in the area 4 days just wasn't enough time to see everything!!

This place is a gem. One of the most comfortable and cozy VRBOs I've stayed at. It was well laid out, the beds were great and we loved the hot tub. The hosts communicated well - I would happily recommend this place to others.

One of the main attractions to this property was the stunning view of the mountains and valley below but unfortunately the view was obstructed (I’m knit picking here) by some overgrowth. The view was still stunning!

Had a wonderful view of the mountains and meadows below. The cabin met all our needs and was very comfortable for 4 of us. The beds and pillows were amazing. Close to Ashville for day trips.

Our family had a wonderful time here. We spent equal amounts of time sitting around, reading, watching movies, as well as taking adventures to West Asheville, downtown Asheville, and the Arboretum. The cabin is very cozy, the beds are very comfortable and there is no shortage of pillows and blankets to make your space as comfortable as possible. We cooked some meals; we also drove into the city to eat some meals. One of the wonderful things about this property is the proximity to Asheville, while being remote enough to see a ton of stars and have peace and quiet all day and all night. We will almost certainly stay here again, there was nothing that was lacking that any of our family was looking for in a vacation rental.

Spent a great weekend at the house with my parents and dogs. Perfect spot to escape from the business of Asheville but close enough to pop in for dinner. The location is so nice and quiet. The hot tub is the cherry on top. Definitely recommend this spot.
